Roach goes completely red, too stunned to chase after Phoenix. He reached a hand up, touching his nose where Phoenix's lips had just touched.

To put it simply, yes. I mean, I can talk, and speech therapy is going well, but it still hurts a lot to do so. I have always been a fast typer, though, so I have gotten used to using a text-to-speech app. It hurts less.

Not really? It is more so that I just saved up a ton of money. I never really had anywhere to send it so I just put it all in a savings account. It was plenty useful when I got a ton of medical bills, at least.

Less than a minute, that's what makes Roach burn with embarrassment. Less than a minute to obediently crawl out of whatever crevice he was hiding in and drop to his knees before Graves. The thud as his knees hit the ground sent an ache through his joints, a sharp reminder of how easily he'd surrendered.
