Taaaaadaa a surprisingly simple question sent me down a rabbit hole!

For some context, as im the "The Flame" p2 comic Starla from an early age (since birth really) has always progressed faster than her brothers. She started walking before them (practicing magic before them), talking before them and etc. As such, all characteristics pointed to Starla having the possibility of going to school earlier. However, her parents.... were hesitant, to say the least. How could their poor defenseless Starla go to school early? And be surrounded by all those bigger and older fillies!? (neverminded that Starla was technically physically bigger and mentally the same age as them) She can't defend herself yet. As such, Twilight and Discord decided to keep Starla back at home until the boys were ready to go to school as well.

Draconequi are magically powerful and chaotic beings that don't adhere to the law's of physics or harmony as such there bodies are odd and mismatched, their behaviors are odd and they way they AGE is odd and entirely dependent on their state of mind.

To be more open the real reason for this ask-kofi idea is because I have consistently been making commissions for the past year and while the I enjoy the process It has left me a bit burned out and has pulled me away from making the original mlp content like I've enjoyed making.

I love mlp content and want to continue making more, but it does take away time from my "professional" art where I should be focusing more on my portfolio and growing an audience there.

However, if I could give a money incentive to this, it could justify me making more mlp content, which I love and want to make more of!

Ya'll I think I need a betta reader beause these typos are a MESS!

Twilight paced the stone floor of the room. It was currently day seven of Twilight not sleeping and it desperately showed on her. Her bob looked closer to that of a bird’s nest, she probably developed like 30 premature wrinkles form the stress and her tail was swooshing erratically to and fro like a caged animal. Twilight felt like a caged cat.

How could they, how could the universe force her to choose like this. How could they saddle up her poor, precious, teeny, innocent, child with such a monstrous gift! The thought alone froze Twilight in her tracks as she forced herself to contain a dry heave.

The sudden sound must have alerted Discord from his trapped gaze as he traced the barrier, because he jerked around and slowly walked towards his partner. Walk not float mind you.

Placing one yellow talon on her shoulder he simply uttered “My Dear” softly trying to need the tension between her shoulder and wings.

The effect was useless as Twilight just collapsed into her partner's chest, buried her face into his fur and cried for the 10th time that day. It seemed almost impossible that her tear ducts could produce any more tears but they flowed freely as she proceeded to bawl her eyes out.

Discord, like the 9 other miraculous times before, remained solid and there through every single one. It baffled Twilight at the time because she was usually the more held together one of the two but seeing Discord step up while she felt she like was falling apart was the one good thing about this wretched ordeal.

“ she wont have magic”

“I know”

“She won't be able to keep up with the boys”

“I know”

“But what if she falls into danger Discord? What if one day the kids are playing and they decide to just conjure a monster just for funor maybe they decide to play hide and seen in the everfree forest of all places</i>!? What if”

"Twilight!” and this time discord voice felt strained as he held onto the purple pony, his claws digging in a little too hard.

“Discord?... Discord dear you're squishing my muzzle” Twilight said as she pawed his chest

Discord breathed out a strangled chuckle.

“My bad paramour” and slowly unhooked his paw and talons from her.

Twilight stared at the draconequus. The once vibrant and airy creature was down on the floor and seemed to be really showing his age. The wrinkles that lined his face looked deeper than ever.

Just as Twilight was about to open her mouth again the draconequus spoke.

“I know Twilight, for heaven’s sake I know how dangerous, chaotic and cruel the world could be! I know because I'm responsible for half the twisted turns this world provides. I’ve been constantly thinking about how one day, her and the boys could be just playing around and they concoct something of a spell that accidentally hurst her. Or Im thinking about how some wretched fillies could possible bully her and she won't be able protect herself, or worst of all what if she wakes up one day and -oh-I don't know <follow in her mothers hoofsteps of spreading the message of friendship everywhere by wrassling a taurturus to the ground</i>” that last part ended in a weak laugh as he grabbed both twilight shoulders and stopped and stared intensely. “For Gia’s sakes do you know how many times you have whitened my whiskers from fright”

Twilight was kind of at a loss for words because through all her fear and panic.. She knew. She knew that Discord was right.

Discord starred long and hard at his partner, wiping one tear gently away with a paw.

“I know how absolutely scared shitless you are, Twilight. I know there are probably a thousand whirling thoughts in your head as much as there are in mine. And I’m .... I'm sacred too-” the last part ended in a choked sob as discord desperately tried to forced it down and clear his throat "but fear shouldn't</i> be the reason she doesn't get to live her</i> life” He said pointing his tail at the sound of a sleeping infant in the crib illuminated by the soft pink glow of the force field surrounding her.

She looked so peaceful sleeping there. So safe and secure. It's as if the incident that happened 7 days ago felt like a cosmic nightmare. That maybe twilight just dreamed up the incident of finding her daughter crumbled on the floor. Maybe had just been delirious from previous sleepless nights when she saw the twitching form of her daughter surrounded by pink lightning bolts coursing through her fur and feathers. None of this felt real at all.

“or-or...if you want…if you truly in your heart this is right” Discord paused as he tried to formulate the right words “if you think this is right for our bundle of joy that we should keep her asleep, until we find the right cure.. Then I won't stop you” he said and he dropped his claws to his side

Twilight sighed and dug her face into Discords chest again. Savoring his strong surprisingly earthy smell. Goddess, how she wished she could smell her baby again.

She lifted her head “your right Discord” and walked toward the crib “Like so much of this week your absolutely right…'' She placed a hoof on the forcefield “Starla should be able to live her life... and we can't take that away from her '' Sadness and fear sswam around Twilight features, but she shook her head and replaced it with determination.

“Lets do this” and she extended a wing to her partner

Discord eyes were wide and peppered with tears but he quickly wiped them away and stepped up grabbing her wing and interlacing into a sort of hand hold.

“For our little bundle of joy…for Starla”

The process was short but felt like a million years both Twilight and Discord had to use all their might and all their magical energy to cast this duo spell creating a 2 layers of magical locks. One to lock away the chaos magic and one to lock away harmony magic. The process was… cruel to be honest and even though Starla remembers nothing to this day… both Twilight and Discord remember.

They remember the screams as Starla’s magic was violently taken away from her and locked away

So after Starswirl the Bearded came barging in with his harsh, yet hopeful, worlds he sat down with the parents to talk.....and what he proposed was.insane

What Starswirl said may or may not be one of the most fucked up things Twilight and Discord have ever heard.... and they have done and faced some pretty fucked up things respectfully.

But Starswirl knew that the two parents were lost. It had almost been two weeks and they had found no lick of a clue. And even worse, the boys had already seemed to forget their sister existence, after a couple of days of them mewling and pawing for their sisters warmth in their nest they had finally give up and stopped looking to bury themselves underneath her fur. It was heartbreaking for Twilighta and she couldn't bear Starla loosing another month of her little life or risk the boys forgetting about their sister entirely. Desperate time comes for desperate measures and if magic was the reason Starla life was bein put on hold....then she rather her live without it.

So after Twilight and Discord found Starla and where absolutely aghast at the state she was found in they had to make the quick and difficult decision to put her in a magical stasis sphere basically forcing Starla to stay in a frozen sleeping state so her body wouldn’t have another magical seizure.

And with that, the utterly confused and distraught parents went to work. Twilght proceeded to bury herself in books searching for any clue whatsoever. She enlistsed the help of her friends, the pillars, the princesses and,practically every wizard in her school to find a semblance of any clue or cure. Spike remembers those knights as he watched Twilight push herself to the extremes of dehydration and exhaustion. Discord himself searched high and low for magicians, artificers, and demon spawns who might've have a clue, a spell or a deal. He pulled every unsavoury connection he could to try and see if he could find anything alas not even his most powerful of past foes could offer him answers.

As suspected their is very little evidence of draconequi hybrids and even less evidence of these hybrids retaining draconequi magic and even less so of them expieirencing seizure like magical outbursts.

Defeated and Devastated both Twilight and Discord appeared before Celestial and Luna seeking to see if they could possibly hold any advice….only to find none.

A continuation of the story and what’s this *gasp some drama !? Who is she?

Lol some context: from a very early age it was clear that although the triplets were born the same day and nearly the same hour…. Starla seemed to be progressing ahead of her brothers. Showing bright keen eyes and the ability to even *gasp walk before her brothers could crawl. Needless to say the with the way her progressive physical and magical capabilities were heading Starla was turning out to be quite a child prodigy

That is … before the attacks.

One day Starla was prancing around her play area while the boys were napping. She had been enjoying her knew found ability and was even experimenting with some telekinesis (see that one pound and pumpkin cake episode). Everything was going fine when Starla’s magical energy turned quite chaotic sparking out of control like Tempest’s broken horn.

Within seconds Starla went from floating in the air to laying on the ground smelling of brunt fur and feathers. And also within seconds both parents materialised out of thin air shocked and agasp to see their precious daughter on the ground comatose.

The parents were shocked, terrified with a million questions going through their minds. One question remained at the forefront.

What Happened?

Here, we have the start of a new series called The Flame

Below we have all three babies born within 5 minutes of each other well actually if you look at Twilights notes it’s “4.56, 5.0, and 5.3 minutes exactly) All came out of their eggs in “unique” ways both beautiful and gross.

Anyways after they the triplets cleaned they were….reluctantly placed in Discord’s homemade nesting pile because fuck reasonable cribs, but in all honesty Twilight didn’t mind and just layed by them in the pile cooing and awing at them.

*not pictured here is Applejack and Fluttershy aka the birthing dulas wiping their tears and ushering themselves out of the way.

*Applejack being a pro at homes foal births and Fluttershy being a pro at home creature births. lol gotta keep both ends covered.

whew been a while since I did a comic, and I finally had the time and the guts to do one again. Btw for those new Discord is the one who got preggos and birthed a clutch of eggs.

Surprise a bonus pic to really finish Offhand Remarks arc!

After the conundrum was sorted out Discord surprisingly, although looking back maybe Twilight shouldn't have been surprised at all, took upon Twilights offer to study him. Unbeknownst to both of them this little agreement would lead to a genuine friendship.

bonus Dialogue

"What do you mean you don't remember how you were born!? And your pretty sure your not the original heir to chaos? How in the hay is that even possible!?"

"Chaos my dear, she's a delectably cruel mistress that likes to confuse people and only show snippets of clarity when necessary. It's what makes life fun!"

"So you have amnesia.”

Weeeeeere nearing the end point of how the ship first began!

1.) So as stated previously seeing the mess that had been caused due to Twilight's shenanigans she decided to do the mature thing and apologize who was just about to be chewed out by a veeery not having this 'ish at the moment Fluttershy.

2.) "Discord I sincerely apologize for not asking for your consent before attempting to study your chaotic nature. You were a unique curiosity but that doesn't excuse my action for not asking permission before attempting to study you."

3.) And Discord is... kinda taken aback by this sincere apology he kinda thought she only viewed him as a nuisance meant to make her princess of friendship image look better so seeing that she saw him as a actual living being worthy of respect took him back a bit

4.) Ensuing confusion and nice little end to the arc.

After Twilight reappears back to her own realm , Flutterhsy proceeds to argue with the assumed culprit of this debacle. However seeing the mess she's caused Twilight decides to squash her pride and be the first to speak on the matter. What will she say?

Funfact: I wanted to show that Fluttershy is not afraid to confront Discord. In the show it kinda always looked like Dsicord could walked all over Fluttershy and she's just lie and take (betrayed her twice also didn't help.) And, truth be told, discord did just that in the beginning but unbeknownst to him Fluttershy has sown enough seeds into this noodle that she's no longer afraid to confront his bullshit anymore. The Keep Calm and Flutter On episode was a turning point.

Lets just say that in the pursuit of knowledge Twilight might have gone a little overboard (*cough Lesson Zero *cough). This hyper focused approach paired with heightened alicorn powers leads Twilight straight to Discords Dimension!. And the most surprising of all , is that the all-mighty and powerful chaos god, himself whose used to barging into pony's lives nonstop, is absolutely flabbergasted when the same thing happens to him!? Karma? Excuse me, he don't know her.

Panicked Twilight flashes herself back to ponyville and bumps into non other then the very pony that first planted this idea in her head.

Not pictured but in panel #2 Twilight is saying something to the extent that 'I don't think we're in Kansas anymore.'

Discord in panel 5 is yelling, "What are you doing in my dimension!?"

Lol I don't think what Twilight is doing is necessarily up to the scientific code. Lol, she should no better then to sneak upon the lord of mischief himself.
