How much has changed since you’ve last seen beach city?

Oh! Uh.. well, besides the temple itself? Not much! The former Crystal Gem temple at Beach City got wrecked by the diamonds... again... but even worse...

So, the temple was rebuilt from scratch, especially with the cliff having been unexpectedly terraformed into a waterfall! The temple statue got replaced from the mega fusion, Obsidian, into me. They made the temple in my image!

Though, it isn't their base of operations, anymore. Now it's more of a history museum of The Crystal Gems!

Yo Steven, how's things with Connie?

Look... Connie still means a lot to me, but... the last few years have been... shaky... to say the least...

We kept meeting with each other on my trip, as promised. However, our plans got pretty screwy, schedules inconsistent, stuff like that. We couldn't meet each other as much as we wanted, nor could we communicate. For a couple of years, it was total silence between the two of us.

Once I settled into Frost Town and got into the local university, Connie had just finished her courses. She came to go to class in the same University I went to! She wasn't as excited to meet me as I had hoped, but we still caught up.

Connie graduated her astronomy classes early, and got a job as a junior astronomist on the new moon base! She works with new colleges, humans and gems alike! She basically lives on the moon, now. She has a whole new social life that I was no longer a part of. Of course I missed her, but, I was also happy for her, she was happy and thriving! She was a real social butterfly!

Once some of her gem friends pointed out how sad I was, she decided to come back and focus on me, which I was very grateful for! We reconnected, and all seemed well! She got more and more romantically inclined with me!

She started suggesting I "get it on" with her to relieve my stress, but I felt like I couldn't do it in my state of mind, and she wanted me. Suggesting became asking, asking because demanding, demanding became harassment...

In a panic attack, I pushed her away with a bubble! I was terrified of what Connie was going to do to me! I was happy with how she's grown a lot more confident, more energetic, and more focused on herself! But now, I fear it's gone too far... She hurt me in a way I haven't felt since Kevin creeped on us as Stevonnie!!

Now, I have extremely mixed feelings about Connie, now. It'd be easier to sort out my feelings if Connie would give me space like I ask her to! But, in fairness, she did get extremely worried about my overall health.

She's realized how much she's hurt me, and sincerely apologized, promising she'll learn to take "No" for an answer. I don't know if I can forgive her, though! On one hand, I WANT to forgive her, and I probably HAVE to forgive her, but... I don't know if I can. We've been through everything together, and I don't want to be upset with her! She was my strawberry, and me, her biscuit... But, on the other hand, I just can't shake off the feeling of being.. violated! By my best friend, no less! For the very first time in my life, I felt like I couldn't trust her! She hurt me in a way I don't know if I can heal from!

... You know what? I should just set my feelings aside and forgive her... I'm being selfish... I'll just do what's best for everyone involved, and forgive her. It's not like I have a choice, anyway... Forgiving people that have hurt me is just what I do. I don't want to hurt them, so... That's that. I'll just let Connie do what she wants, and let her be happy.

All the fucking time... Especially when Bluebird Azurite is around! That cockroach irritates me to no end...
