Dude I got so scared that you quit!! For some reason my tumblr didn't show this blog or your main blog and when i clicked something that had your main blog like @/mentioned on it it said your blog was a ghost blog and I got so scared!!! I almost started crying cause I love this blog so much and I thought you deleted it and WAAAAAAHHH

aw, I’m sorry that scared you- it kinda scared me too ngl lol.

For anyone who hasn’t been watching my main recently, yesterday I got booted off Tumblr while making a post with no warning, and when I tried to log back in, I was met with this:

Tumblr had decided to delete my blog unfortunately, so my main and the ask blog were both gone for around 24 hours. However, somehow, despite all insistance by tumblr that deactivated blogs cannot be brought back, they restored mine! Yippee!

I realized a few hours after everyone else, there wasn’t like, an email from tumblr about it or anything, so I’m glad that other people decided to tell me that I had been brought back to life lol. Idk why it was deleted, or how it’s back, but all’s well that ends well ig lmao. (They also brought back the three other blogs I’d made to try and get back on tumblr with that also got nuked, so I’m not sure what to do about that lmao. I’ll have to delete them all I guess lol)

but yeah, sadly a few people did notice my disappearance, and that my blog had been deleted, and feared the worst. But I’m all good!

(It’s honestly been really touching to see how much people actually care about me lol. I didn’t realize how upset and worried people would get if I just vanished.)

Eyyyyy Hunter its been a while how have you been

To everyone’s surprise, Hunter has actually been doing pretty good!

There’s only really been one incident since before the time skip, but it got worked out pretty fast lol.

(Hunter fainted, but when he woke up he thought it had actually been a seizure because he didn’t remember how he’d passed out, and had a pretty bad panic attack over the rot being back.)

(the rot is not back, Hunter just fainted because he forgot to eat.)

(Judge double-checked for him though, because he wouldn’t calm down until he knew for sure that he didn’t have the rot again.)

(Yes, Gourmand was mad at Hunter for forgetting to eat. This will never happen again, so long as Gourmand lives to lovingly force-feed his new son delicious home cooked meals.)

(Implied gore i guess? Hunter’s kinda dying from the rot here but since it’s from his perspective you don’t actually see the rot, it just shows what he’s feeling. Anyways.)

Explanation bc this might be a little confusing lol:

Hunter is dying from the rot (Womp Womp), the red scribbles are the pain he’s feeling. So basically wherever the rot is, and it’s covering most of him at this point.

He hears someone say his name, and he opens one eye to see a reddish blur standing near him, and since he (sorta) recognizes the voice as his sister’s, he sees a younger Arti standing there. (he hasn’t seen her since she ran away, so he doesn’t know what she looks like now)

He then just starts hallucinating, seeing himself rot-less and younger, how he was right before Arti left, and imagines her being happy to see him and helping him up. The last panel is what’s really happening, but still in the style of showing Hunter’s pain as opposed to what he actually looks like :)

Anyways this is just a conceptual sketch but this is sorta how it played out from Hunter’s half-dead-and-in-a-lot-of-pain perspective.

Monk has run off on an adventure, and Viv has had about a hundred panic attacks about it. Too bad his best friend is terrible at comforting people.

Now, I know I never got to this point in the story, but I’ll try to explain a little what’s going on!

Inv and Saint are now disguise-free! Because of this, Saint is conveniently able to notice the girl standing on the branch above them lmao. Inv is also relaxing now, only watching Saint with one eye, they feel safe now, no longer needing to protect their little sibling.

Hunter and Arti have had their brooding interrupted by a new half-sibling! Turns out the twins are more alike than they realized, because Rivulet is the complete opposite to them. Woe is the day Riv tries to make Arti go swimming with them.

Survivor and Monk are about to start their own arcs- Monk is getting more and more adventurous, and poor Viv is getting more and more anxious. Monk is going to live up to her name eventually, but right now, she’s about to start in the wrong direction.

I’m sorry.

The lack of enthusiasm was making it hard to keep putting in all the effort I did at the start when I got interaction other than likes on my posts. It didn’t seem like people were interested anymore.

With my new hyperfixation, I get tons of people being excited and sharing ideas and writing things in the notes of my posts. It’s so much more fun than posting on here had become.

I’ve tried to not think about this blog too much, just because of the amount of guilt I feel for not posting here anymore has been weighing me down quite a bit lol. Having a 440 follower ask blog for an au you wrote for a fandom you’re no longer hyperfixated on is… yeah.

I’m praying that my stupid brain will suddenly become interested in working on this ask blog again, because I really hate knowing that I’m letting you guys down. I will try to answer a few asks when I get the time to, but in the meantime, I’m sorry again.

Hunter: Yeah, I did meet them. They seemed nice, although… I didn’t really get to talk to them for long.

How did Riv find out about Saint's third eye? Also I find it kind of wild how they think the colony would care about their 'unusual features' when Riv is literally some kind of salamander hybrid slugcat or something like that lmao (not that I blame Saint for it, given their anxiety) ... though hypnotizing their way into the colony on the otherhand...

The first question will be answered later, (I’m too lazy to draw rn sorry lol) but I’m gonna ramble about the second thing you said now! I love rambling ✨

They think that the colony would hate them for not looking like normal slugcats because of things like in these two examples (from an old comic featuring one of Inv’s flashbacks) that were said to them when they were younger.

In the comic (don’t go look at it the art is so old lol) Inv says that they’re going to run away and find a nice slugcat family to adopt them, and Bountiful’s response is to basically call them a freak. When the thought of being driven out or killed for their odd appearance doesn’t scare Inv enough, she turns to posing the question of if Inv will leave Saint alone with her (not safe) or take them out into a dangerous world that will hate them (also not safe). By making Inv think that running away will get Saint hurt just as much as leaving them unprotected with her would, she makes it so both Inv and Saint stay with her.

Of course, eventually they both ran away anyways, but the idea that they’ll be hated for their appearances is still firmly implanted in their heads. Despite the colony’s obvious diversity, they’re still scared that they’re too different.

But, they’re starting to grow away from that internalized idea of “we’re not normal (derogatory)” and are heading more in a “nobody’s normal (positive)” direction! Inv’s best friend, Riv, was the first to know about the siblings’ true appearances, and had the polar opposite reaction to what Bountiful had said would happen. Riv though that they both looked very cool, and was confused as to why they’d ever hide that. The siblings are starting to question what they were taught, but still think it’s too risky to be themselves.

The growth is visible in the banner change btw! In the current banner, Saint is wearing a bandanna instead of a hat. The bandanna shows a lot more of their face, but it still hides their third eye. Inv’s wearing their sunglasses on their forehead in the new banner, not covering their eyes. It isn’t that big of a change, but you can still see that they’re not hiding quite so much of themselves anymore. :3

(Inv doesn’t realize they were ever manipulated by Bountiful, by the way. They think that Bountiful was crazy manipulative with Saint, but never bothered with them. While it’s true that she manipulated Saint more, Inv wasn’t spared from her influence. It’s definitely something that will be part of their arc later, so I thought I’d throw this part of their character out there, since I’m not sure if people have picked up on it yet lmao)
