What does "open starter" mean?

Hey there! So glad you asked!

"Open starter" and "Closed starter" refer to post made by a mun with the purpose of starting an interaction. A closed starter means that it's a personalized starter only meant for the person tagged to reply to. Where as an open starter is a generic one that any person is welcome to use to initiate an interaction between characters.

While it's not a rule of thumb, it is a popular stipulation that most "open" starters are also reserved for mutuals only. So you have to be following each other to reply in that case.

Generally A hard reboot implies someone making a whole new blog and starting over with just about everything!

Where as a soft reboot involves not making a whole new blog, but rather dropping some threads, clearing the ask box, and adjusting your followers (soft blocking ones you no longer wish to interact with <3)

Hi, sorry to bother you! I was wondering if you could tell me the difference between mains, exclusives, and affiliates? I see them on a lot of people's pinned posts and I am confused as to what the difference is!

A fantastic question! Thank you for asking it!

Let me break it down for you.

Mains- this category tends to be used as a priority bracket. Your mains get special privileges compared to your regular mutuals. This is usually priority on replies and memes. They get to skip the wait line for most people. Usually these are people you really click with and want to prioritize anyway.

exclusives- this category is used for people who's portrayal you like so much you don't really see the need to write with another. It's considered a high compliment in the rp world for someone to say "will you be my exclusive" bc they're saying you're the only version of that character they can see themselves wanting to interact with. Usually after a history of writing many threads/dynamics.

Exclusives don't always go both ways but thats ok! It still works the same as a compliment, and the reasons for a one way exclusive could just be them trying to include a friend to even if they'd like to exclusive you otherwise!

Affiliates- This can be seen two ways depending on who's using it. Originally Affiliates refers to people who's portrayal and story line is very much so intertwined with yours. For instance if character A references character b in a reply character A is specifically talking about a particular writers character B if they are affiliates. Not just the generic canon, they mean a specific portrayal.

The other way is just ppl you like you wanted to put on your pinned. But this is mainly an evolution from misunderstanding the original concept lmfao.

how do you interact with people when your character is an oc/isn't well known?

This is an excellent question- let me SEE

There are two ways you can do this and both are equally valid.

Plot Reach out and ask them to plot with you! A brain storming session is always a good time (as long as both sides contribute). It lets you both talk about your beloved muses while coming up with a plot that fits for both Mun's peace of mind!

Wing it You absolutely do not have to know anything about anyone's muse to interact on a wing it level. Think about when you meet someone new, you learn about them through interactions right? Conversations? Well a lot of people actually like learning about other people's muses THROUGH their muse's interactions with them.

Having an oc or lesser known character can seem discouraging when no one knows anything about them, but don't let that stop you. You will find partners that click and develop meaningful story lines in no time. Just put yourself out there, the things that matter will stick <3

what's the best way to approach people when it comes to interactions?

So glad you asked! A lot of people have it stated in their rules how best to approach them!

However not everyone does so this is a great question!

It's important to remember that in todays rpc 'Mutuals only' climate if you are following each other that is already permission to interact so no need to be nervous about it!

Memes are incredibly popular for first interactions! It's easy to pop a few into an inbox and let the story unwind from there!

Some blogs however state they require plotting first before anything substantial happens via writing, and if that is the case then just Dm someone with your interest! People LOVE knowing that you're interested in writing with them. It's exciting to have someone reach out because they like what you do and are eager to be a part of it!

Fear of rejection can be very scary, but again you should keep in mind that if they follow they WANT to write with you so you should plop yourself into their DMs or inbox because they already invited you in!

Now go out there and get those threads going, and make some new friends <3

Open your image up, sharpen the image like normal

Put your colouring psd in the COLOURFUL section of the COLOUR FADE psd where it says COLOUR TWO

Adjust the BLACK & WHITE folder, where I have given you options to click on and off for different isolation effects.

Drag the whole PSD downloaded and adjust it onto your image so that you want to have color fade.

Press play on the first action labeled PLAY : SET ME UP ( MINUS PSD )

Once that is done playing, you will want to play the following action, which is labeled PLAY : COLOR TO B/W. ● When you look at the timeline, once the action is done playing, make sure your first frame is selected. Then, go down to the COLORFUL section of the PSD. Make adjustments as you normally would. Your colored section will then change every time in the timeline to hold those adjustments.

Once you have made your adjustments for the colorful selection you are going to want to play the following action labeled PLAY : B/W TO COLOR ● the same thing applies here. Adjust the black and white folder to be how you'd like it to look. Anything in the frames will adjust to hold the same values and adjustments as long as you ensure you are editing frame one in timeline and are editing in the black and white folder.

I then like to play the action labeled PLAY: COLOR TO B/W so that my first frame and last frame show the colorful section at 100% while the black-and-white section shows at 0% to start.
