Did you enjoy torturing Samneric or was it just something you had to do to get them to join?

I did it because I wanted and because Jack sucks at torturing.

And I have to say it was so much more satisfying than rolling that boulder against Piggy! I could continue with it through the night if Jack hadn't told me to hold on because he didn't want them to get hurt too much. Meh

what did you do to the twins that they would rather join jack's tribe than help ralph?

It's less about convincing and more about giving no other option. Help Ralph isn't an option.

But of course it took some work. Nothing like that rhythmic poking Jack was doing. He doesnt know a shit about it.

The secret is on not let they know what you're going to do next, but they know that it's very likely going to be worse than what they've already got. With a bonus that I can use one of them to show the other how things are going to be if they dont cooperate. Eric easily gave up when he saw what I wanted to do to Sam.

I dont like making threats.

I think after Piggy they had a good idea.

Funny part is that i didnt want to hurt them that bad. We need them well enough to go on the hunting.

Why do you think you would all die there?

I have been watching us. The other boys in general.

We are getting weak within the days even if we can hunt a pig or eat the fruits.

Some littluns are sick, coughing, shitting themselves during night. Some hunters have wounds that dont heal well.

A wrong step on the craggy side of the mountain and you may trip and fall to the rocks and you know... it isnt hard to trip around when we are tired or when it is getting dark.

We all gonna die sooner or later.

Sitting around the fire

The passage of time on this blog is not linear.

Asks will be answered as they come in, but the answers will be usually in the present (for the character), but may refer to different events and different moments in the timeline (following book canon, or hc before or after island). That is, if you want to ask Roger a question about a specific event, Roger will respond as if he "heard" the question at the moment immediately after the mentioned event.

Eg. Asks about Piggy's death will be answered during the night immediately after, while the hunters sleep and prepare to hunt Ralph at dawn. But if you send an ask about, lets say, when they let the fire go out, we'll go back in time and Roger will answer right after/during the first feast on top of the mountain.

If the question does not refer to any specific event or it is about something from before island, it will be answered at some unspecified time (mostly like a free time before Simon's death) unless I think it would be interesting to situate it in a specific moment of the book. If you want to ask adult Roger or young Roger before island, or set it to a very specific moment you can say it in the ask too. I'll try my best to show the little changes in his personality according those different moments.

Have you ever thought about what you'd do if you got rescued? Do you think you'd be punished for what you've done on the island?

I dont believe we can get rescued.

We would all die here before that. The adults are busy with their war, they dont want us.

But if we got rescued I doubt any of us will ever say a thing. I'm sure neither Jack or I will ever say a thing.

Did you have many friends before the crash? Or after?

I never cared about making friends.

There were the boys from the choir, yes. Most of them are on the island too. But we were together because of the choir, not because we were friends.

I think Simon was the closest thing to a friend i had. He dont talk much. Neither I do. But at evenings after the choir practice we used to go to the church graveyard to catch bugs.

How did the others feel about you after you killed Piggy?

I cant say for sure because none of them expressed their opinion openly. But they had a funny look on their face. I think mostt of them were impressed to say the least. Perhaps scared.

I like it when they are afraid of me.

But if Jack didnt say anything they wont dare either.

Do you ever think about hurting any of the other boys?

I dont think. I just hurt them.

Sometimes I do it because Jack wants to punish one of them. But also when i'm bored.

If you had the chance, would you want to be chief?

No.

Jack is a good chief and knows how to do the things. I dont like doing all that talk and thinking and planning stuff.

I dont care about it.

Did you have any hobbies before the island?

I used to enjoy catching bugs and other insects and make them fight. Or threw them on spiders webs to see the spider eating them.

And collecting stones. Some of them I'd carry with me and toss it at spiders web too, but to destroy the webs instead. I had a small collection of stones of interesting shapes in my drawer.

I kept these hobbies on the island too for a while. Simon liked catching bugs too so i would threw his bugs to the spiders after I got bored on collecting my own bugs.

How you sharpen your spear? Do you use Jack's knife?

Sometimes when Jack wants a spear sharpened at both ends he lends me his knife. He only trusts it with me.

But for my own spear I like to use my chipped stone which is very sharp on one edge. I found it on the cliff side of Castle Rock. I hurted my foot on it, but that made me see it was a really good stone.

Oh the spear... so after sharpening it I cover it with ashes and some pig fat on the tip. It makes its tip hard and resistent.
