Kaliyo: Hahaha! Rosie doesn’t enjoy beings talked “about” rather than two or being treated like a mindless beast. You should count yourself lucky that she’s decided to sulk instead of “slice your limbs off on the spot”.

Kaliyo Atropa-Bella! A playful, Gothitelle nomad that loves to talk about her people but is less forth coming about herself. Her way of speaking makes everything sound like a riddle so it’s hard to tell when she’s being honest.

Shiloh Valk! The world grouchiest and most unlucky Audino. He’s talented medic that had to suture his own arm stump up when it was quite forcibly removed- oh dear!

Rubie! A Nice Crunchy Dog Haxorus with knives taped to her face. She is doing her best to keep her sweet amputees safe.

Lore Bits for language

You might notice that Kaliyo has a different way of speaking- the Atropa-Bella and Atropa-Donna clans are pretty isolated so even though they speak English, their dialect and the way they structure sentences is a little different:

-Like in the “romance languages” adjectives (and ownership modifiers as well in the clan’s case) come after nouns   (Ex. “the day is hot” not “it’s a hot day”; “Sister of mother mine” not “aunt”)

-Descriptions and language also tend to be a bit more literal and poetic. 

On another note, Kaliyo’s full name is actually Kaliyo Atropa-Bella Haxone of The Red Cliffs. 

The Bella and Donna clans follow a naming scheme of:  Given name- Family/Maiden name- Clan name- (surname if married) Number of Esteemed Mounts (Hax- or Mamo-)- place of birth

Esteemed Mounts are Haxorus (for Bella) and Mamoswine (for Donna), these are earned by gothitelle youths going on pilgrimages. [A little more on their culture here!]

My Headcanons on how anthro Gothitelles would be like!

Also a couple of important notes?

First being that you’ll see one or more mentions to an Atropa family and its three distinct groups (Atropa-Bella, Atropa-Donna, and the Atropa Merchant Guild). Info on Atropa families! Still a lot more to come! Kaliyo makes a reappearance here to help show off some slight regional variations! )

Second being a little disclaimer that I’d included when I posted these on twitter originally.

These are just headcanons, my interpretation on gothitelle and a sort explanation as to why. If you garner some inspiration from this and chose to adapt one or more of my ideas to your goths that’s fine! However since this is something I’ve put a lot of time, effort, and thought into I’d appreciate getting some credit- and I’d love to see what you do with it!

I also don’t want this to become some sort of End All Be All thing- there’s lots of interpretations out there that are no less valid than this. Admittedly, given the obscurity of my stuff I doubt this will be an issue BUUUT I feel like it’s?? Necessary to say regardless.

Admittedly this is getting posted earlier than planned but I wanted give you some more information on Kaliyo so you could have a better basis for inquiries!

The gothitelle is named Kayliyo Atropa-Bella! And the Haxorus is her trusted mount Rosie, she loves to nuzzle.
