What happens to the Golden Thread and it's residents in the Deltarune universe?
(( That’s a really good question.
I’m assuming the monster human war never happened, so they were never trapped underground.
So I’d think that all of the residents are free to do whatever they wished on the surface.
Sachiko would likely be home in Japan or something :’D ))

Titus went up to the jorogomo, a bit afraid but trying to remain stoic around the spider woman. "Excuse me, Miss Sachiko, I was wondering if I could ask you some things about your home land and the people there."
The jorogumo eyed the armor, raising a ‘brow’ before taking a moment to settle her kimono, smiling at him.
* Of course you may, love. I am, of course, no scholar nor an expert on the subject, but I can try to tell you as much as I know.

She chuckled. From an outsider’s perspective it might have seemed like she had totally forgot their last discussion. Though that was simply how Sachiko was. The kind of being that was very good at acting.
*Hm~
* It was rather strange. Her door was closed, lights off.
* And when I entered anyway, like I usually do she was nowhere to be found. There was just all these weird papers all over her walls with nonsense scribbled across them. And an obscene amount of alcohol bottles strewn about the place.
* You are certain you have not seen her? I know that you are typically her supplier when it comes to those hobbies.

It wasn’t the fact that he didn’t want to see her. Well, okay, that was a bit of a stretch. He believed that they weren’t on good terms since an incident before, that not only stressed out the fire elemental out badly, but also his old war wounds reopened. So now, he was wary of the woman who stood before him.
But, like normal, he kept a blank facade with his features, or as best as he could. Best not to anger her…again.

‘It was merely..unexpected.’
‘…I thought we were not on speaking terms. Since you are here, however…may I get you something to drink?’
Why wouldn’t Keno be home though? That bakeneko was such a cryptid at times, worse than he himself.

It was usually pretty hard to read the jorogumo woman. And today was no exception. She stood within the establishment with a confident smirk upon her face as she examined the flame elemental closely. She was soaking this reaction up. Why have people adore you when they can fear you instead?
* That’s wonderful to hear, love. I am glad that your family is doing well.
* I figured I would simply drop by to say hello~ I was intending on giving a visit to ‘Keno’ but she’s currently not home, so here I am~
* Why? Were you not wanting to see me again, love? I’m wounded!
A certain jorogumo woman seems amused by the flame's return. * It is rather nice to see you again, love~ Had a good vacation, I assume?
Well….that wasn’t a visitor he was expecting to see so soon. But she did seem to be in a good mood this time. Hopefully…

‘…Hello.’
‘..Yes, I did. Things seem to be going well in Hotland for my cousin and her family. It had been some time since I went for a visit. I was not expecting to see you. What is the occasion?’

The monster nervously approached the railing, as if afraid that the magic illusion that had created the landscape would fall away into nothing if she stepped the wrong way. When she finally reached the railing, feeling that sea breeze flowing through her hair, the screaming of sea birds all around and the warmth of the sun on her face she could not help but to be overcome by emotion.
It almost seemed for just a moment, that the spider was tearing up. Though that was quickly covered up by her gently patting at her eyes with a sleeve before frowning in the direction of the human.
* I fail to see how anything I have done for you could warrant such....
A pause
* Witchcraft.
* But I suppose that humans will have their ways. They always have. And I would be lying to both you and myself if I said I was not grateful to simply see the sky for just a moment.
ask-thegoldenthread:
Her eyes narrowed at the human’s playfulness. If this was intended to be some kind of joke, it was not humorous to her, and she would only frown in response as she moved along with them. Salt? Loudness? What is it that this human was speaking about?
It wasn’t until she stepped through the doorway did it hit her. The jorogumo came to a stop suddenly, all eyes locked on that sky. The sun. The clouds. Things she had not seen in years, so long in fact that this almost felt like some cruel dream that she was bound to wake from in any moment. For once she was out. Free.
And it startled her into frozen silence as she took it in.
When she finally found words they came in a hissed whisper.
* What is this? Where have you taken me?
* A prank?
Angel couldn’t really fault Sachiko for being suspicious of the entire foray. He had been rather… secretive about the entire situation, after all. Angel follows Sachiko, and closes the door behind him. She may note that this side of the door is not the wooden one that led to her office.
A wide walkway runs perpendicular to the doorway that they’d exited from, and across from them, a steel railing runs over planes of glass. Angel walks forwards and leans on it. Their gaze is cast over his shoulder, to the hissing monster.
* Not a prank, but a present. * Bending the rules a little to offer you a reprieve that you could not have elsewhere.
* Again, a gift, for what you’d done for me.
They take a deep breath, taking in the rolling waves, crashing into the cavern. There’s a peaceful smile on their expression.
* …Well, I promised you dinner. * The offer still stands, but if you want to ask questions about what I’ve done here, you know I try my best to be fair, Lady Sachiko.
An eye opens, as Angel looks out towards the sun, hovering a bit forwards, in front of them, in the sky. For only a moment, his smile fades.
* But, and I must stress this. I cannot answer everything. To do so would be to invite certain destruction, and to cause the world to collapse in on itself.
A second later, the grin’s back, and Angel turns around, leaning their back against the railing, and smiling at his guest. * So, I’ll be the responsible one, and keep you from that dangerous information, alright?

ask-thegoldenthread:
This certainly was a curious human, and one that not only annoyed her to no end, but also was persistent enough to keep bugging her for her company. There was another sigh before she rose to her feet from her desk, tucking slender hands back into long sleeves as she watched the human carefully. Sachiko appeared still rather guarded despite her saying that she was willing to come with them.
* Meats are quite fine. I am what many would consider a carnivore.
She would chuckle at this, finally tearing her gaze away as she approached.
* Although I cannot imagine how a restaurant in this city can be secretive. But I will humor you, human. Lead the way.
Angel exhaled as the yokai rose to her feet. The necessary connections were formed, and they had bridged two timelines together. Time spent lurking amidst programs and code had done their numbers on the human, and even though most of what they had ‘gained’ had to be returned, they still knew how to tug at the fabric of reality.
And, as they moved towards the door from Sachiko’s office, it was clear that Angel had been pulling on a seam. Their hand rested on the handle, and they could envision the sight already.
* Good. Then Αέναον awaits. I would mind the smell of salt though. It can be a little overpowering.
A hint of mischief plays on their features, as they turn from Sachiko to the door, opening it.
And suddenly, the silence of the office is shattered by the rolling sounds of nearby ocean. From the doorway, the evening sun pours light forth. A breeze flows into the room. Angel holds the door, barely able to contain themselves.
* I hope it’s not too loud! * But, after you, Lady Sachiko!
The doorway leads to a smooth tile flooring - quite obviously not what should be on the other side of this door, but a smooth transition nonetheless. Several feet in front of the door, a glass railing allows guests to lean and bask in the afternoon sky and sea. Stone structures - a cavern, eroded away - flank the view, framing the sun’s descent towards the horizon.
Angel’s gift of thanks is a small reprieve from the Underground. He can only hope that Sachiko takes to it well.

ask-thegoldenthread:
* There is no reason to thank me, human. I simply allowed you in because you had the favor of those I call my friends.
* So you are welcome.
She gently waved them off with a hand but when Angel didn’t leave she would let out an exasperated sigh, looking back to the human as she rest her cheek upon her hand.
* Fine if you insist, human. I will indulge you with… Dinner. Where is it that you would like to go?
Angel held steadfast. Their closed eyes betraying no intentions of leaving the quarters. Not while there was thanks to be given, after all.
Sachiko, even if she had to be persuaded to do so, had offered them sanctuary while they were lost within the International District. It was by her command that they were capable of wandering and learning more about the unique monsters - many of whom they’d never had the chance to meet - that lived here.
So, truthfully, Angel had the jorogumo to thank.
As she relented, they bow, a smile tugging at their features. * Thank you, Lady Sachiko. * While I’ve had the pleasure of tasting several locations that the district has to offer… I believe I owe you more than what you are used to. I know a fantastic restaurant, actually. I always make an effort to visit it when I’m in town. * All I ask is that you understand that some secrets cannot be divulged.
Angel pauses, looking to the door of her office, ensuring that no others are within earshot before continuing. * -Ah, but before I commit to the destination: are you alright with seafood and meats? Lamb and pork, specifically?
Already, their SOUL was tugging at the strings of the room. Not those of web, but those of code and data. A doorway doesn’t simply appear, after all.

ask-thegoldenthread:
* I’m fairly certain my position when it came to humans within my establishment was very clear. Forgive me if that was not the case.
* It is not something you have done, as if that was something to worry about, you likely would not have a head in order to ask such a question!
* No. It is simply the fact that…
* I loathe the entirety of your kind, human. Don’t take it all too personal. It is just that your entire race is awful as a whole!
*Now. what is it that you require, human? The sooner that I assist you the sooner you can leave my presence~
* -Ah! * That’s far more manageable, and much better than what I’d feared.
* So, no worries. Nothing personal. * In fact, I’m inclined to agree with you. Between how we treat ourselves on the surface, to how we’ve treated others across history, it’s no wonder that we devote large portions of historical knowledge to those who set themselves apart by being kind to others. * But, the state of humanity is one that I’m sure you’re rather loathe to discuss.
* To answer your question, I was wondering if - while I’m here for the time being - you would be interested in drinks, and perhaps a meal somewhere? * I have yet to properly thank you for your hospitality last we met.

* If it isn’t the human again.
* I had figured you had lost interest in me and my establishment. I suppose that was simply hopeful thinking.
* Is there something that you require, love?
* Me..? Lose interest? * Sure, I might get a little sidetracked with work, but I always make the time to visit those whom have done right by me in the past!
* Apologies if my presence is sudden, Lady Sachiko. * All I require is the knowledge that things are going well, and that my friends are doing alright.
* …-hm.
* Erm… the idea that me having lost interest with you all is ‘wishful thinking’ is… concerning. Is there something wrong? * The last thing I’d want to have done is made myself unwelcome for things I’d done unknowingly.

Time is something that I've become deeply connected to every moment of every day during my long life. As such, I hold the utmost respect for it, which I hope it has the same for me. Regardless of that, I do hope that the day comes sooner rather than later when you have that freedom that you wish for.
* I see. Definitely feels like there are many others like you. Though no names come to mind.
* It has to happen some day, right? I don’t believe that it is our fate to remained trapped down here until the end of time.

How is Time treating you these days?
* Very strange that you took the time to capitalize that word.
* But it is how it has always been, love. Time continues to march on. Hopefully we are marching toward a brighter tomorrow where we will become free of the underground prison we reside within.
