[I’m glad it did!  I was aiming for that in the composition, as causing feelings was part of the goal.  It was the sort of answer that talks about more than one thing at the same time, if that makes sense.  An answer with more than one layer.]

Heya!! Hope this doesn't come off as rude, but what made you decide to start an ask blog? (For both uzume and chouza, and the mun((is that what its called?)))

There were a lot of things involved in the decision.  I had been thinking of starting one up for quite some time-- over a year, in fact.

With an ask blog, people can send in all kinds of messages, and that means there is the potential that I will be given questions to answer and situations to consider in-character responses for that I wouldn’t have thought up or dwelt on myself.  (It’s also a chance to share things I have thought of relating to the characters!  A chance for both!)  I love drawing and writing these characters, and an ask blog is potentially a great way to combine those two things to answer the prompts that the asks become.  I thought it could be cool to see what could be shared and developed through the ask blog medium, as I hope to show development in the characters and their relationship(s) over time.  I’m not going to list every reason or factor in becoming interested in doing an ask blog here, as I really took my time thinking it over and figuring pros and cons.  Basically, after consideration, I thought it would be something I would be willing to put my effort into trying.

Of course, I also had to consider how likely it would be that anyone would send anything.  For a good while, I wasn’t very confident on that aspect.  I had to decide if it was worth putting in the effort to do all the startup work for a blog that might not get asks, and if I thought I would be okay emotionally in the case of that outcome.

In the end, I decided it would be worth trying even if I didn’t get many asks sent.  I thought the fandom at the moment looked active enough that I might get at least a couple, and I figured I could just do what I wanted if I didn’t get asks.  As long as I enjoyed what I was doing with it, it would be fine.

That was a bit back, as it took a little bit to get everything set up.  While I was doing that, the fandom became a little more active, so that was cool.

I’ve rambled through some kind of medium answer, but the short answer is that I decided I wanted to try it enough to go for it, and I’m putting my confidence in these character muses to help me do it.  We’re off to a good start, I think!]

Rules and Info

(Post version.)  

Some stuff about the blog, in no particular order:  

- This blog is anti-harassment.  

- Please check About Send Eras for any questions relating to those!  

- If you want to send a lot of questions, please consider breaking them up into more than one ask, especially if the questions are unrelated.  This will make responding easier.  It is fine to send multiple asks in a row.

- Anything in the series is fair game to send an ask about!  Asks do not have to be limited to things in the series either.  

- When sending an ask to a character other than Uzume and/or Chouza, please include that it is for the character in the ask.  Any character does mean any character from the manga.  That said, this blog does intend to focus on Chouza and Uzume, and it may be good to note that the blog runner has more of a muse developed for some characters than others.  Some questions may be harder to answer because of that.  

- Send eras may be applied to other characters as well, but some eras will not be as applicable.  

- You can send questions related to previous posts on the blog.

- You can steal questions from ask memes to send in.  

- You can send in asks that don’t contain a question.  Ramble to the characters about stuff if you want, or share something cool you found.  All kinds of things.  

- You can send mean messages to the characters, if you want.  They will respond in character.  But keep in mind that a real person is running this blog.  There is a limit to what will be replied to.  

- Related to the above point, do not send in messages that contain any variations on a word that is used in describing intellect starting with the letter r, also used with a meaning related to slowing.  This is a hard limit rule, even if it is intended as a mean message to a character.  There are other words that will get a message noped as well, generally regarding how okay it would be to say to a real person.  Apologies if there is some confusion on limits here.  This is not a place to vent an urge for cruelty off on a target.  Keep in mind that mean asks are allowed only for the sake of a more rounded possible character portrayal.

- Don’t be afraid to send in a message related to a headcanon you have!  Please understand, however, that there is no guarantee that the reply will align with your headcanon.  A reply that does not align with your headcanon does not mean there is anything wrong with or invalid about your headcanon, in such an event.  It would simply be a difference of characterization.  

- This blog runner supports diversity in fandom content.  Do not use any content from this blog to put down someone else’s opinions or interpretations of the characters, or their portrayal of them.  Don’t send in asks as a “gotcha” to someone else.  

- This blog is queer friendly!  

- Itsuwaribito Utsuho is a 16+ rated manga.  This blog may also contain 16+ content of the canon-typical variety.  Read the below point for a possible exception.

- This blog is run by an adult.  Text-only mature asks can be sent in, but if that happens, the question from the ask will be copy-pasted to under a cut, and the actual ask will not be answered, so there won’t be a notification sent about it.  If mature asks are sent in, there will be announcement of a tag in case there is a need to block, and all mature content will be kept under a labeled cut.  There will be a note of if the material under the cut is mature as well as a tag, so it will be entirely avoidable.  In such an event that a tag is announced, please block it if you are under the age of eighteen.

- Do not send in asks containing nsfw images or photos of gore, or asks that contain links to such things.  This is a hard limit rule.  

- If you send an ask containing a link, there is a chance that the ask will not be answered.  Asks containing unknown links will not be considered for answering.

- Please don’t send asks that contain a photo of a real person.  A picture that contains your hand holding something in place or such is fine.

- The blog runner will get replies out when they can.  If you sent something in and are waiting, please be patient.  If you are worried that tumblr ate your message, you are free to re-send it.  

- There is a chance that some messages may not be responded to, for a variety of reasons.

- Make a note if you have a question for the blog runner that you want an out-of-character response to.  Mentioning in the ask will work.  It is okay to ask questions about things.  

- The blog runner wants this to be a safe blog to interact with!  If you would like a certain kind of thing tagged, send an ask, and the blog runner will get back to you on whether or not it is doable.  

- There may be updates to the rules and information here in the future, depending on how running the blog goes and what is run into.  Please consider this page a work in progress.

Uzume has recently been taken in by the Kuroha group.  Expect a quieter, more fearful Uzume, and people who have a lot to learn about each other.

Answered asks will be tagged according to the era they are answering in.  The inclusion of anything in an ask to narrow down where on the timeline an answer is sought from is completely optional, so please don’t stress over it.  The goal is to have fun.
