This curious lady is Amber 🧡

(Formally known as Cordelia)

She was given to us, alongside 4 others that we weren't actually supposed to take until later on this year, with the idea she was super defensive and moody, striking often and making her previous owners nervous to handle her.

Having her for the past 3 months, we've established that she is, in fact, an absolute sweetheart who is just in a little pain when it comes to her mouth.

We have been removing 'gunk' from her gums since she arrived with us on Christmas Day, and we've finally figured out why this may be happening - she has, what we believe is, a minor case of mouth rot, aka. Stomatitis.

We have ordered some chlorhexidine diacetate and povidone-iodin, which arrives tomorrow, and will be applying a diluted mix once a day to keep the wound clean. This should help her out while we get the money together for a vet visit.

Sadly, this does mean she is back on paper towels until she is feeling better 😔

Reminder to everyone that uses a sand/soil mix as substrate for their reptiles to very carefully check through as you’re mixing 😐

I don’t even know if this came from the soil or sand. I’m inclined to think soil, but I genuinely do not know.

It's been 1 year since we met this little sassy stringbean, and he has absolutely doubled in size! 🥹 He is so stunning, but somehow only getting even more gorgeous the bigger he gets, and I'm freaking loving it 😍

Atlas is doing very well since his escapade yesterday, even taking some food this morning to replenish his wasted energy 😊

Thank you, Atlas, for the absolute fucking heart attack you've given us this evening.

I had well and truly stuffed this decor until I could find my hot glue gun. Couldn't pull anything out or get anything through it, but alas, my son is as stubborn as I am and must've chipped away until he could squeeze his tubby little body inside, only to realise he couldn't get back out again 🫠

Some dishsoap, gentle shimmying and 15 minutes later we succeeded in our rescue mission, but my heart was in my throat the whole time 🫣

He is unharmed, minus the tip of a single toe which had some scales come off, and seemingly just exhausted from the endeavour and we'll be monitoring (hehe) him tonight to make sure he doesn't go into shock or anything 😮‍💨

Was it worth it, Atlas? Was it really? 😑

Bubble and Squeak got some fresh carrot yesterday! Not something they get often as they can't have too much moisture, but they were eager to get their paws on it! 😊

2 days being in her new home, and she escaped after a slight knock to the viv that shunted her vent cover. What a little scoundrel! At least I can stop sitting up for her and sleep now 🫠

Harper is one of the rehomes we took in recently who is gravid, and honestly, she looks like she's gonna drop any day, as does her prior tankmate, Aella 😳
