Richard the Arisen
It has come to my attention that an Arisen by the name of Johan, known also as Richard the Arisen, has recently passed on.
For the first time in many years, I find myself speechless. Johan was a wonderful Arisen, one that I had grown fond of, and one that cannot be replaced. There will forever be a crack in this blade’s surface.
I will miss you, Johan.

The world is not a kind place. Years of being an urchin and a guard tells me this. It’s very easy to lose hope, to lose that ray of optimism. Very easy to become jaded. On top of that, I lost too much. I’m a jaded old man who lost so much.
But here comes this kid, this young and vibrant kid. He’s...

Pawn's Funeral for Richard the Arisen
There were so many pawns. They all looked at their feet, shuffling awkwardly as the chilly November air battered their skin. It had been drizzling with freezing rain, but no pawn made a move towards the comfort of shelter. There was somebody important being honored this day. Fournival sobbed. He knew that the Arisen's love had been a gift from some forgotten God--nobody else could possibly have loved him so much or so well. Barnaby stared accusingly at Camellia. "You could bring him back," he whispered. "I know what you really are." Camellia sighed. "No, I could not. When you bring someone back from the dead you lose the best parts of themselves in the process. All that would come back was a sadistic husk." Barnaby turned away, uncomforted. "WHY?" His voice snapped at her, startingly human. For a moment Camellia forgot he was a pawn. It was a man standing beside her now, an angry man who wanted the universe to stop taking away those whom he cherished. "I don't know," Camellia confessed, looking down in shame.

I keep hoping someone will tell me there was a mistake, that our Arisen Richard is alive and well and will come through the pawn guild door. Why does salt water keep falling from my eyes?

Ummm....a favorite arisen has taken his life today. Johan, who had a blog named Richard the arisen, is no longer with us. The pawns and I are mourning.

Barnaby! Just the pawn I was searching for. I visited the guild not long ago, and overheard talk of a Barnabeast. I am not sure who or what they were referring to, thus I was hoping you would know more about this creature.
Barnabeast? Do you mean the pawn's cat? Describe this beast and whether it is dangerous or friendly. We will get a group of pawns out to investigate...

Sigh. Yes, Arisen. But she discounts the healing potions afterwards. ..

I agree. There is no dagger quite like you. Sigh. If only pawns were allowed to wield you...
Are you fond of any daggers besides yourself?
Besides myself? Ah, you believe I’m vain. I do have more curves than those unattractive Chilling Razors, which just cannot glow as much as I and they’re enchanted. They already glow. Em-bar-rass-ing!
They’re all pitiful excuses of daggers, all of them except my dear, precious Heaven’s Key… I yearn to see you flying across the Seneschal’s chamber and into my imaginary arms, tearing up the boy’s precious cloak along the way…
Only when it is a pile of shredded cloth will I forget the sewing sessions.

You said you're in a romance... Who's the lucky person, hm?
Camellia seems to favor me...don't argue with her, it never does any good. Just nod and smile.

what made you wanna RP Barnaby, mun?
Hmmm...it seemed like a good idea at the time. Actually, I wanted to play Barnaby because in a way he's somebody to whom all the experiences of humanity seem so new...sleep, tasting food, (gasp!) feelings...I thought it would be fun if Barnaby was making a transition between being a pawn and a human being.
Thank you for your question!

You used to fight? Did you use a sword, daggers, or staff?
I've had a long career as a fighter--I'm not builty as stoutly as a tank, but I have mastered being a strider. I was quite proficient with a bow.
I have dim memories of throwing spells, too--but since the Riftmaster messed with me, I have no memories of that time in my past. (Hence part of the reason I try to avoid the rift even though it would heal me completely and let me fight again).

Why do you like fish so much??
I never really thought about it! I remember a time when my Arisen taught me "fishing"--an activity she did with her brothers and father before they were killed by the dragon. She made me laugh, told me stories, and I remember thinking "well, this is what happiness feels like".
Perhaps this is why fish make me happy? These feelings you humans gave me are so odd, how can you explain them?

What is your opinion on romance, and do you want to be in one?
According to every human around me, I'm in one now:). I think romance is confusing, weird, exciting, and very worrisome. I hope I don't get in trouble for confessing that.
