(OOC) AU Vi design!
Drawn by the lovely @jinx-askme !
Tumblr media
She's finally here! Vi's design for my group's rp story!
She's getting back to her old ways! Her Pit Fighter Jacket is back, and her design once again has red's and black's to it! Yet, this isn't cause she's depressed or anything! Vi is finding herself again and growing close to her Zaun family once more. Yet, she still has her long hair and some other stuff from the end of Arcane! Vi and Caitlyn are going through quite the journey right now in our story, a good one, I promise!
Along with her design is necklaces that represent two of her favorite people! A choker made from one of Ekko's hair beads, given to her in their recent rp together, as a keepsake to remind Vi of Ekko. The other necklace is something to remind her of her sister! Jinx thought using one of her bullet cases was a good idea, and well, Vi didn't argue. Being able to wear these two necklaces was important to her!
The only thing missing from the picture of her that is included in her design is her Zaun style combat boots!
I'm glad to be able to share this design with you all!

I think a big part of why Isha's death is so poorly done is less because of how exactly she died, and more of how she was characterized before then.
The sacrifice works as a parallel for Powder's explosion in season 1, overloading a bomb with many Hex-crystals. Though more direct and only claiming one victim instead of multiple, that being the instigator herself, and leaving no collateral damage, as opposed to Powder, which left the situation physically unharmed yet left a TON of collateral damage in her wake.
The problem with Isha's death is the fact we don't get to know her all that well, and by all means there should've been countless other ways to end Warwick's berserk attack without involving her sacrifice. Jinx has shown to move at blinding fast speeds before, but throughout S2 we see that speed be less and less consistent, and at points it's like Jinx forgot she can even do that. There should be nothing stopping her from rushing to get Isha before she could do something reckless, and with how Isha idolized Jinx? We all know she wouldn't have pulled the trigger if it put Jinx in danger.
Then there's the characterization issue... Isha was given almost no screen time- The official timeline implies Jinx and Isha were together for months, maybe even around a whole year?? But we never get to see all that development, we just see enough of her to think "that kid is kinda cute", like that's enough emotional investment for them to kill her off. It's unsatisfying and says nothing about Isha's character...
Though it does say something about Jinx's.
Another problem with Isha's death is that it proves Jinx right. She says it herself against Smeech, "everyone who gets close to me dies". Imagine the amount of anxiety and mental fortitude it took for Jinx to even consider having a little child around her, much less actually adopt and live with said child. And then Isha kills herself to save Jinx. That does nothing but prove that yeah, Jinx is bad luck and everyone she loves will die so long as she's still around... And I'm sure we all know why that's not a good message to deliver, especially through a child character.
I was just thinking, how much better approach would be if Isha died in a random situation not with this big sacrify-herself-moment. It could be her getting in a middle of enforcers push on Zaun, death by accident cause she wanted to be part of rebelion Or perhaps she would get in a way of this special force let's-gas-zaunites-because-they-are-the-worst and was killed by accident as a collateral damage.

I’m hoping that this is as “angry” as I’ll get with a comic, but given how the world is shaping up politically at the moment, I fear that might not be the case.
It’s been incredibly eye opening to witness the degree to which some people I know are willing to bury their heads in the sand in order to avoid the reality of the awful things that are happening around them.  Awful things that they were told were going to happen.
In America, people are being black bagged and shipped off to El Salvador without due process to be held indefinitely in prisons, with the current administration now making social media posts cruelly boasting that they’ll never return.
Make no mistake, if people are being kidnapped by the government, given no due process, and are shipped to a foreign nation to be held in prison with no intention to give them any legal recourse, we need to call these prisons what they are:
They are death camps.
The United States of America is rounding up “undesirables” and sending them to death camps.
There are people in this country that voted for this.  No matter how nice they otherwise seem or claim to be, these people are evil to the core.
There are also people who didn’t vote for this, but do provide social validation and acceptance to those who did.
If you are someone who thinks you’re against fascism, but you also accept fascists in your life, you are a fascist.
There can be no acceptance of intolerance.  In the comic, the person I’m lampooning is the “Fake Trans Ally”, but you can swap out “trans” for any other group of marginalized people.  Frankly, just call this person “The Fake Ally.”
If you’re someone reading this and feel attacked because I’m calling you a fake ally, it’s time to do some soul searching.  When the history books are written about this period of American history, are you going to be someone who was unambiguously against hatred, or were you someone that treated hate as acceptable?
Were you someone that invited hatred into your home?
Were you someone that shared a meal with hatred?
Were you someone that allowed hatred a safe haven?
If you’re someone that does that, you yourself are hateful.
When you accept hate, you do so at the expense of those who are the target of that hatred.
Be better, our lives depend on it.
