Hearts and Hooves Day was absolutely wonderful this year. But it’s always wonderful when you have a mare as wonderful as Dusky by your side.

Dusky Down : Sadly, I don’t think that will help.

A friend is someone you are close with, somepony you can open up to and share pieces of yourself with. As creatures of magic, of love, the more we bond, the more we become a part of each other.

That is to say, the distinction between “friendship personal” and “private personal” are not always clear to me. 

Nor is how I find myself sitting in a cloud house at nearly midnight. Such is the way of things.

One does not sneak up on Dusky, nor lunge out of boxes unexpectedly. But if you properly set things up, and ensure she knows what’s going to happen, well, it’s not so much a surprise for her, but she still seems to enjoy it.

As long as I can make her smile, it’s worth the effort, in my opinion.

Dusky Down is very aware of her surroundings, so she knew exactly what (or who) was in that box, but that just gave her all the more reason to open it.

For Hearts & Hooves Day, I cooked her dinner, she got a dessert, I purchased some flowers, she got some candles. It was a lovely evening, but in the end, we both agreed, the greatest gift we got was the time we spent together.

((Featuring Spring, my youngest (but still older than me) Sister, and Pocket Sized, my younger (but cuter) Sister. Pocket wins, because freckles, blue eyes, and scarves. Also, 9 times out of 10 Spring ends up lighting something on fire.))

A slightly belated Christmas gift from @askthepsp​, but so full of love, regardless. 

Pocket is truly the best sister one could hope for, and just knowing that I could be there for her to give her holiday a little extra light could probably be said to be gift enough... but also, this art is amazing, so I’ll accept both :3

Well, it's not like we're inseperable, just um... When you love someone so much you want to spend every moment with them? It's like that.

Hearth's Warming Eve is special to me because it's a time for reflecting upon those you love, and Dusky is simply the foremost amongst them. Happy Hearth's Warming, Dusky. Happy Hearth's Warming to all!

And yes. I'm leaving the hat on. It's important.

I um, didn’t always like them. They felt kind of embarrassing. Now though, I don’t know. They can be cute.

Cold winds blow. MY winds. My heart has frozen, and so I shall freeze everything! There shall be snow and ice and rime, and this land shall never again feel the warmth of spring. I am Winter Eternal! And there shall be no ‘wrap up’.

(( Nightmare!Flurry brings Eternal Winter. The terrible cold of his heart would have been brought about after losing the pony who he loves more than anything, and that would open a door for an even greater darkness... fortunately, this is all just Alternate reality speculation, and Night Flurry does, in fact, have a special somepony to hold close and warm his heart. ))

Nothing can abate her wanderlust, she and the road are inseparable, and sometimes I can’t be there with her on her journeys. Though she is always in my heart, and I am always in hers.

I hope the night finds you sleeping peacefully.

Dusky Down has a fair bit of wanderlust in her. And while she’ll usually look for a hotel or inn to spend the night in, there’s not always a handy town nearby when night falls. But in such circumstances, a nice rocky overhang can provide sufficient shelter for a night spent sleeping under the stars.

Ever since the Crystal Empire announced their new heir, and um... ever since that new heir apparently almost caused an eternal winter up there, I've been hearing a lot about my relation to Princess Flurry Heart.

I'm uh... not related. Sorry.

And please don't make me wear a royal dress... Spring, stop looking at me like that...

Paper horns make alicorns! Besides, Night Flurry here is just as likely to cause a snow disaster~

But really, local troublemakers get invited to see a baby in another city? Sure, that’ll be the day~
