OOC: I'd like to say something.
I’m a little bit irritated at the community lately. (I’m talking about the askblog community.) Why? Because when I try to give advice to someone, they snap back at me like I’m trying to hurt them or something.
Putting forth effort into your askblog is never a bad thing. Trying to stay in character is always good, and when all you post is OOC nonsense, you sort of turn from a dedicated askblog into a personal blog.
Now, making not so in character posts is one thing, it can be fun but your blog shouldn’t be overwhelmed with it. We should be able to see your roleplaying when we scroll through the first page of your blog. If we can’t see that, how the hell do we know if you’re even a dedicated askblog? I’m not gonna sit here and scroll through 3-4 pages before I finally come across an inkling of a past interaction.
I realize that askblogs are for fun. But you know what? We’re representing our characters here, it’s what comes with the title of askblog. If you’re not willing to put forth the effort to at least play that character right, then please give your URL to someone who would do a better job, and make an OC askblog where you can do whatever you please!
Now, there is a large difference in headcanons when it comes to character attitude. Basically, some people see their character different than others would, which is totally fine, but you can’t stray too far from the character’s alignment. For example, Riven would never be romantic or cutesy with Singed, unless under the effects of a potion or possessed or some bullshit like that. That should be a well known fact because it states that in her lore, Singed killed her allies.
Another thing I’ve seen a lot of lately is AU. (Talking about the Zalgo text/virus stuff.) AU is fine as long as we can keep it on track. When the Zalgo AU first started it was really cool and I wanted to join in, but now I’m awfully confused as to where it all is heading and it’s a huge clusterfuck of nonsense that I just don’t care about anymore. If we would have set up an actual plot, the Zalgo AU could have been something totally awesome. Try again next time.
Now when I say this stuff, I’m not trying to be an asshole like Nasus was, I’m legitimately trying to help you guys improve. We’ve had our share of trolls that hate us as a group, and it’s because some of you are so damn disorganized that I don’t know if you’re actually roleplayers anymore. So if you’re one of those blogs, and you give a shit about being a good askblog, take my advice. Again, I’m only trying to help.
Also on another note: RAPE JOKES ARE NOT OKAY. KISSING OTHER CHARACTER’S WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT IS NOT OKAY. OKAY? Kissing a character without the character’s consent is called GODMODDING. It makes you a really bad roleplayer. My roleplay with Riven was discussed in advance. I asked her if I could poison her character. I asked her if I could have sex with her character. And if she had said no? I wouldn’t have even asked again. With roleplaying, you can do anything you fucking want as long as your partner is willing to, and you have discussed it with them first. And please don’t get me started on rape jokes, I will fucking tear you a new one.
