How do you make overnights at a hospital sound more relaxing than overnights in a closed store?? I'm assuming if there's not a code or something else that needs immediate attention, you're not subject to "if you have time to lean, you have time to clean" or similar stupid ass mindsets some management has for overnights?

Okay, I'm in full support of doing your job at your job, y'know? I mean, if you're getting paid to work, you work. Now that I've covered my bases should attending find this somehow, it's almost just as important to look busy.

Most of what I've done on overnights? Click between tabs and spin in office chairs. When I'm not studying, I catch up on my reading list. I've had hallway wheelchair races with RNs. Patient can't sleep? Yeah, fair. Keep quiet and you can join in. Of course, I also learn where I can. Being where I need to be and when, not being in anybody's way, etc.

Codes sober you up pretty quickly however. The ER never sleeps. We lost a hospice patient last Saturday. Can't really put yourself in a good mood after that. But, as Vonnegut says, "So it goes."

It's odd. Simultaneously, it is the most relaxed I've ever seen the hospital, but I have never helped with more codes in my life. Nothing happens, but when something does, that something is big.

Rock human culture lesson here. It's miserable. From the moment you're born, it's a goddamn fight. I was raised by hornets. If you could even call it that. Raised is a strong word to describe the love a hornet has. Days of feeding off weaker insect's abdominal slop and being sheltered in paper hexagons. Nights of being lulled to sleep by a buzz. What would you call that?

Oh, gator burgers are good. Not like a go-to flavor imo but definitely good every now and then. If you're in the south of the USA (first of all, I'm so sorry you hypothetically ended up there), you're gonna wanna get it from one of those just. Off on the side of the highway places that look like they just popped up out of nowhere. Get boiled peanuts from there too. Those places have the good shit. Shockingly, gas stations are good too. Gas station fried chicken is fucking amazing.

Whats your favorite non-standard meat for burger. Had a bison burger last night and. Ough. Yummy.

Ryo has been getting more vegetarian day by day. Calls himself "pescatarian" now. Didn't even know that was a thing until he brought it up during a dinner we had. Anyways, he introduced me to tofu burgers. Not terrible. As for a "weird" meat though, I've had venison burger. I've heard about gator burgers though, and really want to try that out.

Pretzel bun. Sauce: creamy, cheesy, spinach artichoke dip. Two patties, but both flat and charred to get some good burnt flavor. Tomato and lettuce, both thicker than the meat. The cut through the richness is needed here, and that brings us to the unexpected pop. A light spread of lemon compote to cut through a lot of the mellow flavors. Which! If played right, I could imagine lemon making an emergence in the dessert. Some posset...

I wish I had a better answer than general enjoyment, but Japan was a happening place then. Nintendo released the Famicom, the music (need I say more?), manageable hair, and I learned how to ride motorcycles. A lot of fun to be had.
