Blog Update

((I’ll be finishing up event asks after today and tomorrow, only got two left and then whatever replies need to be done after. But that’ll do it for the event for me! Actual plot updates will pick up after the first of the year as I have to prepare a big DnD session for some friends. Treat this as, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from me!))

The Ninetales seems to shrug after giving the other fox a devious look. Waving her tails around as she speaks, “I suppose so, but that is a very generous view of the world you have. You would be surprised what difficulties people have with certain pokemon, be it a justified reason or not.” 

“That point aside, my name is Hydra. It’s a pleasure to meet someone with the same intent to mingle among all the other foxes here, Orochi was it?”

in any case, it would be rather rude for someone to judge others based on their species, no? i’m sure the proprietors of this festival are welcoming of all fox species, and besides, i’m just here to meet some new faces, like yours. might i ask for your name? you may call me orochi~

“After all, everyone gets to see our beautiful foxy faces~” She brings her paw to her lips as she chuckles softly at her own comment before righting herself to look at the Leafeon. “Joking, of course… Slightly.”

“As for a booth of my own, maybe. I do have a service to offer but do I really want to bother with all of that trouble?” Hydra looks past Willow, towards all the other pokemon gathering and socializing besides the two of them. “I feel I would much rather use my time here to flap my tongue, because I know when I go home it won’t get much of a workout with a quiet Scorbunny and a Houndoom who would rather not associate with me at all.”

One of the Fox’s tails comes to wrap around the hilt of the object before removing it from it’s container. It does not sharpen to a point however. It is clearly a wand, one you would see a magician using. And an even keener eye might catch the dust that falls like snow from the white end of it. “Trust me, I do not fear for my safety from any person that’s here. This is just a tool I use for my work.” She waves it around near Cedric’s face before returning it to it’s place. “It is a knife holster, I will admit. Easier to buy this and modify it to fit the wand than it is to commission a whole new type of holster.”

“Maybe I can treat you two to something to eat?” The Scorbunny looks at both of them for a long moment before realizing something. “Oh, right. You two still need your masks. I wouldn’t want to get in the way of that...” She looks around as she speaks. Checking out the place around them as she still doesn’t even know where to get any food herself. “If you want to, just come find me afterwards I guess. I’m sure that won’t be too hard for seasoned explorers...”

(from @askScorbunny) Scarlett@Bernot(or Beebee honestly) I see you both made it here too. Do you two get some sort of... paid time off to come to events like these? Also, I see you don't have a mask. I'm not sure if they cost money, but if you need any, I can spare some money to buy you a set.

oh yeah! we mostly get a cut from our mission rewards, but there hasn’t been anything so~ we came here!!!

Both of them enter the event area excited to mingle with all the others around. Well, one of them. Hydra looks like she’s eyeing every single pokemon around to chat up, while Scarlett looks for the closest building to hide inside of. “Oh, right.” The fox turns to the Scorbunny, pulling a pouch from seemingly no where before tossing it to her. “He’s a little spending money. Get some candy, or whatever you kids like to eat at events like this. I’ll see you around.” The Ninetales is already up and about to walk away as Scarlett speaks up after her.

“W-Wait, you’re already leaving?” As much as she didn’t like the Ninetales, she didn’t exactly want to be left alone with such a crowd.

“Yeah. You’re… what, seventeen? You need to figure out how to mingle with people you don’t know. That’s what makes you come off as a huge grump.” Her tails whip around as she turns to leave once again, leaving the Scorbunny holding a small bag of cash on the edge of the festivities. “I’ll find you later, keep the bag close.”

Scarlett spoke as she hopped off Kerial back, even sprinting into the gate stopping with a slide as she felt the warm air of Crimson’s Rest wash over her. 

“How about we fix that shall we?” A voice comes from the far eastern side of the grounds. A Ninetales sits in wait for them to return with tails flicking about. Neither Kerial or Scarlett are exactly happy to see her but both approach her anyway.

The Scorbunny stares with her with a blank expression. “I talk to you, my Master, and Ms. Kerial, Hydra. What sort of plan are you scheming?” She crosses her arms as the Ninetales leans down to her, grinning ever so slightly which makes Scarlett turn away slightly.

“I require a plus one. And I doubt the horned hound would agree to go.” Both of the older women seem to glare at one another, neither growling or being mean but obviously they did not have a good opinion of one another. “There’s a party, or a festival, and you would be a big hit! Just think of all the games you could play, you could buy a trinket for your master, and I’m sure there will be plenty of sweets to go around.”

The Scorbunny restates her answer, but Kerial chimes in. “She’s not wrong. You haven’t left the Rest since I’ve been here. And today is the first time you have talked to me.” The Houndoom patted the small bunny’s back before turning away, “I’ll watch the Rest for you. Nothing will get in, especially the Litwick.”

“Oh Kerial~ Well you heard her. Hop on, I’ll even lend you some money to spend.” The Scorbunny sighs, being dragged off on another adventure. But at least she doesn’t have to spend time with the fox herself.

Scarlett can easily pick out a hand full just looking into the forest from Kerial’s back. “My Master has said they all died in the recent fire. Could have been feral pokemon or actual pokemon… pokemon.”

Kerial turns to look at the ghosts that follow them, or are they just watching? “Is that so. Now that I think about it, before the fires I never saw any Litwick.” The hound looks a bit more sorrowful before smiling wistfully at the sight of them. “Perhaps some of my lost brothers and sisters are among them…”

“Did you lose someone in the fire?” Scarlett looks over at the Houndoom as she stares off at the spirits.

“Quite a few. Not to the fires, but to the fighting.” Kerial tears her gaze away from the Litwick as she continues to walk. The Rest just coming into sight ahead of them.

Scarlett gets a better look at the scars that cover the hound, seeming somewhat fresh. She doesn’t offer any condolences besides a soft sigh as she thinks to herself.
