“NO, NO, NO. THIS IS FINE. I SEE IT AS SOMETHING TO BE DONE FOR THE GREATER GOOD. AND WE MUST SACRIFICE OURSELVES FOR IT.” A hint of bitterness at his tone of voice. Really, there weren’t very many options anyway so he’ll just have to learn to accept this one. Give him a day and he’ll be fine about it. Besides, his ideas were exhausted and if the fairy godmother has already told him no then he just needs move on from it.
“AH, YES, A WISE YET FLAWED KING.REALLY, I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW A FATHER COULD SHUN HIS OWN DAUGHTER JUST BECAUSE HE HAD NOT RECEIVED A COMPLIMENT FROM HER. TOO RASH OF A DECISION.”
“Alright, as long as you’re on board. I can’t exactly start a demi-god club on my own, after all,” Scotta said, attempting some light humour.
“Shakespeare is known as ‘the bard’ for a reason. He knows how to write compelling characters, whether they’re good people or not. I do understand where he’s coming from, though. Regardless of whether or not Cordelia felt she could outdo her sisters, if she said nothing then she would never have a chance. Of course that doesn’t excuse it, but I don’t think it’s simply about him wanting a compliment.”

“Yeah, I figured, that’s why I brought it up. Being a sore spot and asking a legit question aren’t mutually exclusive. Just a joke, though, I promise. I’m just kind of making my way around the school to meet people. My name’s Ingrid.”
“No worries, I know that transitioning can be hard. Why don’t we just put it all behind us? I’m Scotta, and if I’m not mistaken then you must be one of the new VKs, right?”

“Oh, okay then, let me jot that down. Though you don’t suppose it could be both could you? Human personality and behaviour could contribute to opinions and whatnot.
Well, depends on what logical drawback and arguements you’re talking about. Give me some example and I’ll think it through.”
“Potentially. It depends how you spin it I suppose. Psychology’s just harder to sell, especially if you don’t know many specifics about the actual subject.
Like I’ve already said, there’s the fact that history repeats itself, that humans aren’t perfect, that people have different ideals, and that other gods might have other ideas. There are more problems than even those, but they’re just the main few.”

Syr shrugs, recalling his own, quiet, rebellion against his mother. Nothing awful, of course, mainly just him not following in her footsteps the way she’d hoped he would. “Some of uh-us less or mo-more than others, may-maybe. I’ve always been kin-kind of a momma’s b-boy, myself.”
“May, uh…m-maybe it could be a-an off-campus gath-gathering? Th-they wouldn’t b-be able to stop tha-that even if they knew, wou-would, they?”
Scotta couldn’t help but let out a little laugh at his confession. Not a malicious one - or, at least it wasn’t intended to be -, merely a bemused one. That wasn’t exactly something many people would admit to. “Can’t say I’m surprised. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. I could say that I’m a mummy’s girl too, I suppose. Not that I exactly have much choice in the matter.”
“That might work. It would have to be pretty far off campus, though. And if we didn’t want to break curfew then it would probably need to be a pretty dark area.”

“So? You want me to change how an entire expression is used just because history got some facts wrong? I’m only one person. If it makes you feel better, I was only joking. I know not all princesses at crazy.”
“Yeah, sorry. Height’s just, a bit of a sore spot. And it was a fair question, joke or not, although I suppose you don’t actually want a proper answer.”

Bobbing his head up and down slightly as he listens, considering the suggestion. If they were to make the club a campaign, they might as well start it up as such instead of a sports club. Because at this point it was starting to sound more political than anything. And Hector wasn’t opposed to the idea. Of course, there’s a little disappointment at the prospect of not being able to establish an athletic club, but if it’s for a greater cause, he won’t complain.
“OKAY WE CAN DO THAT.” He grins, unable to voice his disappointment. He was never really good at showing any other emotions than happiness.
“IT IS ALWAYS WORTH A TRY. NOTHING CAN COME OF NOTHING, AS A WISE MAN ONCE SAID. ALTHOUGH I DO NOT REMEMBER WHO EXACTLY.”
“Unless, you’d rather do something else?” Hector had never been, amazing, at hiding his true feelings, and this was hardly an exception.
Maybe she was going too far with the idea for his tastes, or maybe he just wanted to do something entirely different. Either way, he was as much a part of the creation of whatever this would be as she was, so he deserved a say. As much as she enjoyed being right, she didn’t want to be right at the expence of him being displeased.
“'Nothing will come of nothing; speak again.’ King Lear, William Shakespeare.”

“It’s a study on human psychology. I’m curious to know about the way you think. I’m collecting research data so I can compare it to others. And what makes you interesting is your background, being part God and all. You know? I don’t do things for no reason. This is purely for educational purposes. I’m thinking of maybe handing it up to the head of psychology once I’m done… or is this more of a philosophical topic?”
“...Psychology requires a more scientific approach. You’d probably get further handing it into philosophy, although good luck getting anyone to take it seriously. But if it’s for purely educational purposes, then I suppose I can’t refuse.
So, what you’re sayig is that - at the cost of my humanity - I would fully restore peace to the world, forever, without any of the logical drawbacks or arguments to counteract that?”

“A lot are definitely out for personal gain, no matter where you’re from. Trust me, I learned that the hard way. As for what I want, well, that doesn’t really matter. The line of succession is what it is, and it’s what I’ve been raised to do.”
“Oh, and for the record, Napoleon wasn’t actually that short.”

"Hey there! I'm Lakhi, I don't know if you knew, but we're in AP Bio together. I am totally into your like, *jock* look!" @askluckylakhi
“I have seen you around. You’re one of the new transfers, right? I’m Scotta, pleasure to meet you. And, thanks. I actually quite like your look, too. Although I’d guess that you switched it up once you moved here, seeing as it lacks some leather.”

What's the most embarrassing nickname you ever got?
“I’ve been called a lot of things. A lot along the lines of my height, especially, so I’d say some of those were the worst. Maybe imp? Or goblin, depending on who’s folklore you’re looking at.”

True enough. Makes me wonder what I’m even doing here. I mean, I’m rich, but my mom’s more infamous than famous. And not this rich. Who are you?
Sometimes infamous is just as good, for better or for worse. Scotta McKendrick-DunBroch, and yourself?

Cora took a few deep breaths, struggling to calm down. She hadn’t climbed rocks before, but she had climbed buildings all over the Isle. So while Scotta’s advice was new to her…she could handle it. Theoretically. Slowly, methodically, Cora tried to drag herself upwards, this time using her legs and arms equally for support.
“I hope you’re aware,” she said with a puff of breath, “I’ve never gone rock climbing before,” frowning, she added, “I’m not sure if I want to go again.” Still, now that she’d started, Cora was determined to finish…
Scotta couldn’t help but smirk a little. For all of her snark, Cora was steadily making her way up the cliff face. Slowly, sure, but steadily.
“It’s good practice! You have to tackle the rest of the mountain next!” She teased, hand cupped beside her mouth to make sure that she was loud enough for her friend to hear.
In hindsight, it probably would have been best to leave the jokes for when she comfortably had both legs on solid ground, but Cora was a big girl. She’d gotten this far, so she could probably handle a little bit of banter.

“Chad’s just out of town, Scotta,” Audrey smiled tightly at the fresh wound Scotta unintentionally opened, “And I don’t mind, there’s plenty of other things to keep me busy.”
And boy was that true. She’d already patted herself on the back for making some quite adorable matches around the holiday, and making sure the carnival ran smoothly was priority number one. Standing by the darts table however, Audrey couldn’t help but jolt a little every time a balloon on the wall popped. Carnivals were fun, but they were also noisy and a lot could go wrong. She had to keep her eyes peeled.
“Just like you were out of town for the Cotillion?” Scotta knew that she was pressing a button that she might be better off leaving alone, but if something was potentially bothering her friend then she wanted to know about it, and Audrey wasn’t exactly the type to just tell her.
She had to admit that the carnival was a nice touch, although she couldn’t help but also call into question where Audrey had placed herself. “You sure you wouldn’t rather be at a different table?”

And what implication is that?
Yachts are a sign of wealth; ships are a sign of work. And Auradon’s full of the rich and famous.
