Bitching and moaning about my job don’t mind me

I have had my OOO and my hard stop on the calendar for WEEKS so tell me why everything on the fucking planet is blowing up at 4:45 on a Friday!!!!! “Who’s going to be coverage post-5pm?” I don’t fucking know! Maybe you should have planned to do late work earlier this week instead of waiting until the last second!!!!

I keep saying “I’m not gonna be the type of person who rearranges my life to accommodate overtime work” and then I keep getting my boundaries and hard stops trampled and I keep being afraid it’s gonna be held against me if we blow a bunch of timelines because I couldn’t stretch to offer 30 minutes of my time but ALSO it is not my fault !!!! if our project managers are not managing timelines around PTO! And it is not my fault if I can’t stay late when I communicated 3 separate times about it!

And on top of that I’m watching a guy I KNOW is being fired soon stay late and do all this extra work. And it’s not gonna stop him being fired. Like truly these corporations do not give a flying fuck about you, they will beg and plead and threaten you to squeeze your blood into the grindstone of stakeholder profit and then they will turn around and hang you to dry without the slightest compunction. Nightmare world nightmare industry nightmare existence.
