As cameras become smaller and more ubiquitous, the way we create and manipulate moving pictures is changing. Might the auteur of the future not even use a camera?
Extremely well-written article about the future of recording images.  Throught-provoking and slightly dystopian in flavour, this article prompts us to imagine a future where everything is under the watchful eye of a constant recording state.

More summer please.  This is part of a masked nude series I did over the last few summers in Canada.

Ha ha, the never-ending Canon vs. Nikon battle.  Of course Canon wins!  ;-)

This is a stunning read about Apple's Sordid Business Practices.  I considered getting an iPad, but would likely consider Acer's Eee Pad Transformer before the iPad.

There is no evidence that we are on the verge of a great new glittering cultural age, there is evidence that we may well be on the verge of a new dark age in cultural terms … where the creative world is destroyed and where all we have is cacophony and self opinion, where we have a crisis of democratised culture.

I collaborated with a few co-conspirators for a WSSF film festival entry, and got out from behind the lens for a change.  LiKE - by Switchback entertainment.  Do you "like" it?

I'm unusually excited this week to receive my first compact digital camera since I started using SLR cameras in 2003 - the Canon G12.  It shoots 720P HD video and because of it's compact size I will be definitely be carrying it around a lot more than my 5D Mark 2, so hopefully I will start shooting more video and putting together little films. Look for some in a month or two!  :-)

This Friday is Volume 3 of Whistler's Pecha Kucha night, and I will be presenting on the 2010 Burning Man festival with a collection of my photos (and a few from some friends who were there with me).
It's a super fun and informative night, don't miss it!  Tickets $15 at the door which includes a drink.
