The Sun and its Lights
° summary: You are the Sun, and they are your Light. To them, nothing matters more than your will.
° warnings: unhealthy behavior and coping mechanisms, possessive and obsessive behavior, description of addiction/withdrawal, cult-like/zealous/fanatic behavior.
○ note 1: I'm putting emphasis on the unhealthy/cult behavior. These two are.. unhinged, to put it simply.
° note 2: considering making this a series..
Belle and Wise were always.. different. Everyone knew that. Even their beloved teacher knew there was just something.. off about them.
Smiles that never reached dull eyes. Dull eyes didn't sparkle until they looked to the sun and looked to the light. Quiet murmurings to something no one could see or hear.
When the old Eridu fell, and New Eridu came to be, it was easy for them to cover it all up.
Until, of course, you finally came.
You, who had such an enticing warmth that it was overwhelming. You're a constant source of watching, of guidance, of care and want. Even when they're guiding an Agent on a mission, you are there.
It's as if you're whispering in their mind. Guiding their fingers, what to say, how to act.
You're always there.
If they are Phaethon, then you are Helios. You are the Sun. They are the Light.
They are your light.
It's the small details. The small sun stickers placed around each of their rooms, matching sun necklaces. The way they will slowly go on and on about all sorts of things about the sun, revolving around one being; Helios.
To them, the Hollows are a product of your will. A test to humanity, and while most of humanity failed, you had decided that New Eridu would live. And for that, they are forever grateful.
Belle and Wise know that everyone is ignorant of your glory. You are above in the sky every day.. and yet people do not even give you a glance.
You are Existence, you are Inevitable. You are light and dark, the sun and the moon, and these people just ignore you.
They ignore you, they scorn you, they rage for what you took for what you destroyed.
Belle wants to rage and shout. It's a trial. Why can't they see? New Eridu is blessed to be alive, under your constant gaze, your light, and life. It's Wise who reminds her they are just blind, that not everyone deserves to be as blessed as they are.
Your warmth is like a constant embrace. Like gentle hands guiding them, pushing them to where they need to go. It's like a rush, they could feel every command. Words being whispered in their ears and coming out with no effort.
When you're gone, it's like the Sun has gone out.
It's cold. It's freezing. They hate it, hate when your warmth leaves.
Belle stays up later than she usually does. Prayers, whispers, offerings, anything. She just wants you to come back.
Wise doesn't sleep at all. Just watching the moon, and sometimes, just cursing it.
Is it the reason why you leave? Why you do not watch them all the time?
He hates it. She hates it.
They hate it. Hate it, hate it, hate it. Your light should never perish, never die. You are the Sun, you are Helios. The sun should never vanish, never go.
Why do you go?
Are they trials? Because if so, they will gladly weather them.
They can keep themselves composed in public, for the most part. So what if Belle gets a little jittery without your overwhelming warmth, or Wise's hands can't stop shaking with anxiety when you don't return at your usual time.
When you do return, it's a blissful weight and control. Shackles that they love.
They are your puppets, your Proxies. They are Phaethon. Carries of your will.
They explore the Hollows to learn more about them, yes, but it learn why you made them. Clearly, as punishment, yes. But why, why why why. What sins did the past commit?
What sins did they commit, so your loyal Lights will never commit the sins.
They just love you so much.
Belle wants to spread your good name, but Wise knows better. They need to wait.
Wait until your warmth and influence spread. And then, soon, very soon..
All will know Helios.
Just as things should be.

Omg I’m so glad your requests are open! Would it be okay if I requested some lowkey jealously from characters with God!Reader? I would love to see everyone purposefully stealing reader’s attention away the moment someone gets a little too much attention 🤨 You can use any characters but would it be possible if Venti and Albedo were there? 👉👈 Thank you!!! 💕
I hope you enjoy!! <33 i uhh wasn't exactly sure if you wanted Venti and Albedo jealous or other acolytes being jealous of the attention Venti and Albedo get, so I did both but split it between them? This sounds so confusing im so sorry ahhh 🏃♀️
WARNINGS: SAGAU cult au, light yandere themes, jealousy, possessive behaviour
gazes of green
VENTI: in which others can't stand how much you adore him
Venti wishes he could capture this singular, ethereal moment between his cupped palms and kiss it, so tenderly it melts upon his tongue the same way snowflakes melt upon contact with skin.
The skies are blue, dotted with fluffy tufts of white clouds and the birds are chirping their sweetest melodies. There are hydro slimes bouncing happily, and the very breeze carries the scent of cecilias and sunshine.
Mondstadt sings, for it has you, its beloved Creator, treading upon its grass and plains; and here you are now with Venti under the shade of the Windrise tree, his head on your lap and your fingers scratching gently through tye soft strands of his hair.
Mondstadt is happy, and so his he.
"Your mind is wandering, bard," you tease him, lightly tugging on his braids. His eyes snap to you, fingers no longer strumming his lyre. "Am I such a boring company?"
Said eyes widen, and his hands are quick to latch to your wrist. "Never, your Grace!" He promises, and any other time you would have scolded him for using that title yet again despite your demands, but he doesn't allow you to speak. "I will always cherish your company."
Venti sits up, clasping both of your hands and holding them to the pinkish apples of his cheeks to kiss the palms of your hands. Unsurprisingly, your fingers caress his skin almost as if it is second nature to you now, and it might as well be.
Nobody was blind to how you favored your dear Anemo Archon; in any crowd or room, your eyes fell upon him first and everyone else second. Your hands reached out to him, your coveted touch blessing him most. Your conjoined laughter rang so sweetly throughout the temple built in your name, and it was his embrace you sought out the most.
And now you chuckle, still holding his face in your hands. "I know, Venti," the smile you give him is fond and sweet, and he wishes yet again he could fold this moment over and over until it was a little paper flower, tucked neatly in the safety of his hat.
You grin, the teasing lilt back into your voice. "I know," you repeat. "Because you've somehow made me stay here two weeks more than I was supposed to!"
Venti rubs the back of his neck, but he is, truthfully, not ashamed of what he'd done and how much he had pouted and needled you until you had agreed to stay more.
And he is about to say as such, but, since the universe ever so adores making fun of him, he is cut off by the stomping of feet and calls of your title.
"Your Grace," Diluc is the first to reach the both of you, followed by Lisa and Eula and Amber. He ignores Venti in favor of taking your hand and kissing the back of it. "It's wonderful to finally have the time to see you again."
Venti has to bite back his frown pout at the removal of your hands from his face, standing up along with you.
"You must be hungry, no?" Diluc continues, his voice as gentle as he can while still eyeing Venti from his peripheral vision. "Please, allow me to escort you to the Dawn Winery. . ."
Venti shakes his head, about to give Diluc a very, very bright smile and explain that you'll be having dinner with him, your most beloved Venti.
Except he is cut off again.
It's Eula who speaks, piping up about dancing and Your Grace, surely you will not leave one of her standing without a dancing partner and such, and then Lisa takes it upon herself to so kindly remind you of your library date with her and Jean would be so happy to talk to you again, Your Grace.
Such a kind God you are, agreeing so easily to their wants and demands. Such a kind God you are, still turning to him despite those three trying their most descrete to distract you.
"I'm sorry, Venti," you apologise, and he gives you a beaming smile to soothe you. Oh, he'd never dare be upset at you! . . . The same can't be said for those so jealous of him spending so much of your time with him. "We can talk again before I leave for Liyue, alright?"
"Of course, your Grace! Your all-time, most favorite bard will always be here for you!"
Venti's smile, in your eyes, is innocent and sweet. In the eyes of your three companions who had finally managed to divert your attention from him and to them, it is a purely sly smile.
This one instance— with their hands on you leading you away from him, their sweetened words and actions stealing your attention— they have won. But the very second he has a chance to. . .
Venti will have your eyes on him again, he promises. And with your eyes, shall come your love and attention.
ALBEDO: in which he can't stand not having your attention
As an artificial human, Albedo's senses have always been quite a bit. . . Muffled. Muted. He still felt them, but whereas the sheer cold of Dragonspine was enough to have the normal human shivering in their place and in danger of hypothermia and frostbite, to him it felt like nothing more than a particularly chilly breeze.
Physical sensations aside, he reckons that his emotions are quite of the same nature even if he is not exactly, completely, fully sure of it.
But if it were not true, then how is it that he's only experiencing this. . . Revolting emotions now when he'd never felt so strongly before.
Now, as he watches his beloved Creator be so enthralled by whatever the Lord Commissioner of Inazuma is telling you.
The temple you often reside in is also, often, lively with the many people who come here in hopes of speaking to you face to face. Albedo only mourns that he had chosen to come study the runes used for the temple the same day that man had chosen to seek out your company.
Albedo is a creature of tact and comprehension, of thinking things through rather than rushing into action. He had no cared about anybody else but you when he'd come here at first, early in the morning, much less about Kamisato Ayato. Yes, he had thought it weird when he'd heard whispers that Ayato had been staying here with you for a few days now, but it was probably nothing. . .
And then he had to sit and witness you and him practically attached to one another the whole time Albedo had been here, and he didn't even want to imagine the past few days. By now, all thoughts of runes and experiments and theories had gone out the stained glass windows, his heart clenching in his chest and his stomach rolling in uncomfortable, vile waves.
Jealous. He is jealous of Ayato having so much of your attention, jealous of the way Ayato makes you laugh and be so utterly entranced by his words. The jealousy curls into his stomach like a snake curling into itself, the corners of his lips tugging down into a barely-seen frown.
Oh, he understands why the Kamisato heir continues to hog you like this— who wouldn't? You are the very Painter of the world, the one to pull the very strings of their fates taut and the one to hold their stars and constellations, their everything, in your palms.
In Albedo's eyes, you are the holder and beholder of all the secrets of this world. All tye knowledge of the world coalesces in your hands—
The same hands Ayato kisses yet again.
The pen in Albedo's hand snaps cleanly in two, but he doesn't care. Methodically, he collects all his books and notes and places them aside for now, save for one he carries with himself always.
"Your Majesty," he greets you with the barest hints of softness, but the smile he exchanges with Ayato is anything but kind as he mereky nods at the Lord Commissioner. "I was hoping we could speak."
You blink, your smile stretching as you fully turn to him. It makes your hands fall away from Ayato, finally. "Oh? About what, Albedo? Did something happen?"
Albedo slides the book to your — one that is of his own illustrations of Teyvat's flowers and climate, only that he usually adds whoever joins him when he goes to those places. . . So it has many sketches of Klee and Kaeya and the Traveller and of you the most, you who enjoys joining him and hearing his thoughtsnof each place and day, sometimes giving tidbits of information about each place and greenery you two find.
In those moments, he is at the center of your attention. There is nobody to take away your affection, your eyes and hands and time except for him and that's exactly what he wants now.
With honeyed words and clever maneuvers, he pulls close to his side. Ayato is forgotten, save for you telling him a quick goodbye before Albedo is, once again without fail, pulling your attention to him.
He wraps his arm around your back and his hand on your shoulder, leading you away. Your voice falls on his ears and he is soothed, that curling pit of jealousy is all but gone and now. . .
He shall treasure his beloved God.

The Traveler
° prev
Aether had not felt your warmth in ages. He hadn’t felt the comforting, homely warmth in ages. It was worrying, so worrying. What had happened? Had you been hurt? Had.. had you abandoned him?
No. No. You’d never. You were kind, compassionate, caring. You’d never abandon your first vessel. You had cared so much for him, you had put so much effort into helping him become stronger. You would never abandon him.
Then where were you?
It was a question that had been lingering on his mind for ages. Aether tried to his hardest to find some sign of where you were, but always came up with nothing.
The recent uproar in the three nations he had recently visited didn’t help either. He could only pick up snippets from passing conversations, but he had heard that.. someone was impersonating the All-Creator.
Something didn’t sit right with him when he heard that.
Just a few days later, he saw..
Cryo rifthounds?
He was pretty sure those weren’t meant to be in the nations he knew. However, they were and they were abundant.
The rifthounds were agressive, more aggressive than typical rifthounds. He had watched from a cliff top as a few chased several adventures for miles.
Both Paimon and Aether were stumped.
"Paimon just doesn't get it!" his compain huffed as they two sat by a campfire. "There's never been any cryo rifthounds before! Paimon is sure of it!"
The Traveler let out a hum of agreement as he watched the chicken over the fire. "It definitely is weird."
The blonde was silent for a moment before continuing. "Do you think it has something to do with the All-Creator? There was talk of them being impersonated, and now Mondstadt, Liyue, and Inazuma are all in a frenzy about something else."
"Maybe!" Paimon hummed as she nabbed a berry from the pouch between the two. "I mean, you still haven't felt them, right? So maybe something happened with them! Oooh, maybe they sent down the cryo rifthounds as a sign!"
"Paimon," Aether chuckled and shook his head. "I don't think-"
Warmth spread over his body and a voice whispered in his head.
Aether.
Aether's eyes widened and he quickly stood up. His sword formed in his hand and he looked around. Paimon quickly floated up next to him, looking worried. "What's wrong? Did you hear something?"
The blonde male didn't respond, instead he continued to look around. The warmth in his body got hotter and hotter, but it didn't feel uncomfortable. No, it was comforting. Like he was being held.
A small gasp escaped him.
Like he was being held.
"Divine One?" he whispered, his eyes wide.
Aether. Come to me. Join me.
“Where are you?” he asked, this time louder. It caused Paimon to give him to a confused look. “Divine One, where do I need to go?”
“The All-Creator?!” Paimon gasped. Aether didn’t pay her any mind.
Snezhnaya, Aether. Come. Join me.
“Snezhnaya?!” Paimon cried when Aether echoed the word. “We need to go there? But how will we even get there! On top of that, that's where Childe probably is..."
“We’ll find a way.” the Traveler narrowed his eyes. "If that's where the All-Creator wants me there, that's where I'm going."
"Hey!" Paimon huffed and stopped her foot in the air. "Paimon is coming with! You're not leaving me that easily!"
Aether chuckled at that. "Alright. Let's get going."

༄One in the Same
— au. sag!imp!au
— genre. fluff
— pairing. itto x gn!reader ( platonic, romantic, whatever else? this is your story, so you choose, lovely )
— précis. it seems the crimson oni feels a bit vulnerable today.
— tw/cw. second pov, gn!reader, ooc itto, focus on inazuman history before interaction w itto
— a/n. this is a prompt heavily inspired by the fulfilling conversations ive had with @aminormistakewasmade! :)) this is canon divergent but not part of my canon storyline, consider this a gift for a friend, if you will.
SAGAU SERIES (INTERLUDES) — PREV. // NEXT.
— HAVING WAVED AWAY the moon long ago, you smile at the sight of the sun. You bask in its blinding glory, aimlessly trailing Musoujin Gorge.
You’re surveying the centuries-old remnants of a beast so titanic, you couldn’t distinguish where its frame could’ve started…
You sigh, “Oh, Ei…” You brush fine, starchy flakes of grime from towering cartilage.
“Whatever will I do with you, my darling warrior,” you equivocate.
Prefaces of failure are inlaid upon this land, buried beneath bustling foliage. “A valiant soldier you’ve become,” you say, “but I’m afraid war is a failure of statecraft.”
You follow the greenery that runs up and down through crevices in the bones, branching off into thinner sections. You run your fingers along the narrow fissures, admiring the handcraft of nature.
Countless acts of war have shaped — or rather, broken — this nation.
This nation, it has been shackled by the constraints of eternity. Ei had lost clear sight of what the miracle of eternity was favoring. She scoped through broad plains — undulated plains that were her twins pride and joy, just to gut her people’s very being.
Small wonder how such a disregard for the human essence could rule the battlefield.
“Robust, structured, and proud, these bones…” you mutter, “just like your Inazuma.”
This nation, conforming into a house of cards — stripping the purity of Makoto’s dreams along with — has inevitably toppled over. The apt works of the wind, it seemed.
You chuckle, “It seems the winds of freedom have finally reached Inazuma, hm?”
“Reached who?”
“Oh!” You wince ever-so-slightly, shifting your attention to who’s behind you. You’re met with striking tattoos rather than a face, pleasantly enough.
“Quite the tall one, aren’t you?”
The dynamic shifts as the shadow before you shrinks, a bowing Oni laying bare.
“Your Grace.” He says.
“You may rise.” No matter how many times you say it, it’ll never get old.
“My bad— err… my apologies!” His voice breaks out, then he caves a bit into himself. “My sincerest apologies, Your Grace. I, uh… I didn’t mean to scare ya, promise!”
“I trust you’ve had safe travels, Itto?”
“You— you know me?”
Humming, you say, “Even better than yourself.”
You continue to stroke his hair as your left hand rests on his shoulder. “And so, you went off searching for this “savior girl,” didn’t you?”
He looks up at you, eyes twinkling softly, “How didya know?!”
You lean farther back into the bone you’re perched against, a subdued sigh surging into warm skies. “Even better than yourself,” you repeat.
He melts a little more into your lap, smiling up at you. “You’re so cool, Your Grace…”
“Am I?” You smile placidly, unbothered.
“Totally…” Though he’s dozing off a bit, his gaze deepens at your smile. “…Can I touch you, Your Grace?”
“You may.”
His hands, as calloused or cut they may be, left tender holds and satin touches. His hands cup your cheeks, “You’re beautiful…”
You reflect his stare, heart throbbing with affection. His life, his story, his constellation — all of Itto comes undone before you through his eyes.
“…And you — Arataki Itto, are remarkable.” You ask, “this world hasn’t been kind to you, has it?”
Though you earn no response, you can see his tears gleaming — a solemn reminiscing. “For as long as I know the song of Teyvat’s Heart, no danger can reach you…” You take his hands in yours, intertwined fingers kissing your cheeks.
“Thank you,” he says, tears slowly cascading. Only few and far between.
You grip his hands, just hard enough to stop him from moving, “Let them fall.”
“…What?” His voice cracks painfully.
“Just like your pain, it’ll pass, and it will make Teyvat stronger.” Your grip unknowingly tightens. “It will make me stronger, Itto.”
You smile at him, “You’re so strong, Arataki Itto.”
He smirks. It’s wobbly, but it’s a smirk regardless. “Yeah? I’m strong?” The unspoken pleas that beg for praise beckon you.
“The strongest, my dear Oni.”
And with that, his tears fall freely. As they sink into the soil that was once the treasure of his kind, they nourish Teyvat.
They nourish you.

star-sewn fate (3)

The All-Creator does not look at the bowing figures before Them. They do not speak, do not breathe— upon a throne of jewels and precious stones made by Morax’s own hands They sit, all cold silence and colder eyes.
Venti thinks that if he had a heart the same way humans do, it would’ve been torn to shreds. He can still remember the anger in those eyes of Theirs, the very skies bleeding and the air howling, shrieking in response to its Creator’s fury. He can still remember you, weeping for the life that was to be unjustly taken from you.
But you are not here, not right now and certainly not after the spectacle they’d made of your to-be death. You are somewhere safe and far, far away from them and anybody who had dared raise a single finger against you.
Venti is the one to eventually break the silence when it becomes apparent that not even the Tsaritsa, head bowed and face covered with her veil, is willing to speak. He barely exhales, however, before Darling’s voice hisses in his very soul.
“Silence.”
Venti bows his head and clasps his hands in prayer. It is a position that comes to him as easy as using Anemo—
Yet for the first time in his long life, it brings him no comfort.
“Who are you praying to?” Darling laughs, the sound tilting and tinkling. It is a contrast to the sharp, cold glower of Their eyes— like a star burning. Like the moon, its glow an unavoidable truth and witness. “Who are you praying to, hm? It certainly can’t be me, not after all that you’ve done.”
Venti’s hands are trembling. Venti’s hands are trembling and he cannot raise his head to meet Their eyes when he knows there will be no forgiveness. He cannot raise his eyes to meet yours, not when he can remember the fear and the tears in them.
“Unless you have something important to say, Venti, then I suggest you leave.” Darling’s eyes narrow, though Venti can’t see it. It’s easy for him to guess, however; he’s been with Them, served Them long enough to at least know this much of Them. “You have intruded enough for one day, I think.”
Venti licks his dry and chapped lips, voice barely above a whisper. “I wish to apologize, Your Majesty. To you and… and them.”
You’re by Darling’s side now, your steps hesitant and light and a stark contrast to how Darling walks; They move as though They’re the very earth, each step aware and familiar with every rock and root and sand and grass sprout. Yet despite being so close, you still hide behind Them, the fear almost souring the taste of the apples he had earlier.
“I don’t accept your apology, whatever it may be and however you word it, little Archon.”
Please, please, please.
Venti closes his eyes, taking a shaky breath. Is he surprised? Not really. But not being surprised does not make it hurt any less, does not lesson the guilt that lays in his heart like a pouch of coal.
But still, this is only Darling’s decision— not yours, who is still staying silent and watching, eyes lacking the same intensity of Darling yet nonetheless matching Theirs.
Vent, of course, is not and will not be the one to tell you to say your piece.
“And you, (Name)? Do you forgive him?” But Darling does not have such reservations, the most curious lilt in Their tone as They address you.
Venti cannot see it nor can he feel it, but you are looking at Darling. They smile in return, chuckling. “Why yes, you. He— they had hurt you the most, no? Spilled your blood and delighted in your pain, brought you forth to execution like a lamb to slaughter… take your time answering, (Name).”
You remain staring at Them for a while; They stare back, more expressionless than stone itself. This is your choice to make, you can almost hear Them say in your mind. You need not my opinion to decide.
“Can we speak privately for a bit?”
Darling finally blinks, a grin stretching a little too wide across Their face. They crane Their neck down to look at Venti, humming.
“Leave us, won’t you, Barbatos? I’ll come and speak to you myself if I need to.”
When he leaves and you are left alone with Them, They return to staring at you with an unusual intensity, eyes filled with dim, golden stars and swirling constellations. “Yes, (Name)? We are all alone now, no prying eyes or ears.”
Your stomach churns, mouth dry. You already have something in mind but—
“I don’t forgive him. Or them. I won’t forgive them until—”
“Until you get your revenge,” They are grinning, a sharp and red and bloody thing and you can’t breathe—
The moment passes, and the pressure on your chests lifts, the hands on your throat gone as quickly as they came. Did you dream this sudden moment, your mind wonders. It is unwilling to leave the safety of that suggestion.
Darling is no longer grinning.
They have gone back to watching you, blinking slow and heavy ever so often. Like a cat, basking in the sun. They are waiting. Patient and unwavering, They are waiting for you to speak.
“…yes.”
Darling tilts Their head to the side. “And how do you wish to go about this, I wonder?”
You shift on your feet, crossing your arms. “Is there anything I’m not allowed to do as punishment? … Will you help me?”
They blink, as though surprised. “Why, of course! Depends on what your decision will be, though. As for what you’re not allowed to do, I only ask for two things,” They eye you, awaiting your answer.
That doesn’t seem unreasonable. Then again, They could make those two thing unreasonable. But you also don’t have any other choice, do you?
“Fine, what are those two things?”
“You will not kill anybody.” The response is immediate, no hesitation and so firmly said you would have never had any space to object— not like you will, anyways. “If you plan on hurting anybody, you will only give them the same pain they had given you, no more than that.”
Oh, that was surprisingly easy.
“Deal.”
What you had planned for them wouldn’t even hurt them physically. Emotionally, they’d still be less hurt than you.
Darling’s serious faćade is gone, and now They are grinning again, eyes gleaming. “Oh? Curious… but more importantly, what do you plan to do, (Name).”
You give Them a matching grin.

The cries of the nuns awake everyone in Mondstadt.
Half-haphazardly dressed and still not totally awake as it is quite early in the morning, people start rushing out of their homes and hotels to see what could possibly be going on.
Venti is among the first to wake up and rush to the cathedral. He finds inconsolable nuns on benches along the way, leaning and slumped against the stairs. Some of them are kneeling in front of his statue, frantically begging and praying.
He’s confused, confused and worried and stressed as he enters the cathedral doors—
And then he sees it.
Venti has come to this particular statue of his All-Creator many, many times. He’s laid at Their feet, he’s even prayed and played the lyre and wished and slept and laughed near it, gleaming eyes staring at Their lovely face—
Their lovely face, now nothing more than unrecognisable stone.
There is a letter, stuck to the mess of broken stone. There is a letter and it is in Their handwriting, and Venti has never known They could be so cruel.
Never again shall I be defaced. Never again shall you lay your eyes on me.

༄Plea of Forgiveness
— au. sag!imposter!au
— genre. fluff
— pairing. n/a
— précis. liyue in its entirety is pleading for your undeserved generosity and all you can think of is, “whatever for?”
— tw/cw. second pov, gn!reader, cultist behavior
— a/n. its my birthday today !! (aug. 5) so i decided it’d be every monday to update but its a special occasion n i might do something else but im quite new to this so we’ll see :)
— “PUNISHMENT?”
MOON CARVER responds, “Yes, your Grace. We sinners await whatever punishment you wish to grant us.”
The thought has not crossed your mind, not once.
Yet, it seems that very thought has brainwashed your subjects minds the moment you stepped foot unto Liyue Harbor’s entrance.
You and Alatus made a point to tread lightly on the damp, pitted stone beneath your feet and — despite your efforts — the sheer impact of your divinity seems to have alerted every occupant of Liyue Harbor. Your first appearance now acknowledged as Teyvat’s Divine Monarch could rob ones breath and dignity like no other.
Alatus alerting Liyue of your appearance had increased the number of subjects pouring unto Liyue’s entrance gate tenfold. It was a far cry of what you had expected to see. After all, the clouds had shielded Liyue from any sunshine today, effectively portraying Teyvat’s grievances towards its people for daring to lift a hand against The Creator.
You remained static as you watched every man, woman, child, and illuminated beast alike in Liyue hasten to kneel before their omnipotent monarch. The societal divide that separates them all are no longer in the face of Their Grace.
You briefly scan the overwhelming myriad of subjects that kneel in an orderly formation. It becomes clear to you that there is not a single soul in Teyvat who wouldn’t bow down to you without question…
The Geo Archon himself and his dearest companion Alatus accompanies him at the forefront of this army. Their heads bowed in respect — they take in the accolade that is lying at your very feet. In the following line there is Cloud Retainer, Mountain Shaper, and Moon Carver. After that, the Tianquan, the Yuheng and head secretary Ganyu in one line.
Gourmet chef Xiangling and her father kneel shoulder-to-shoulder. In a more rigid position is Xingqiu, second son of the Feiyun Commerce Guild sat next to the elders of his family. There even seems to be an entire bloodline of unique exorcists…
The seventy-seventh Director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor Hu Tao is sat beside Yanfei, residential lawyer.
Behind them, Liyue’s princess — Yunjin, and fellow musician Xinyan attempt to disguise their intertwined fingers.
A talisman only belonging to the undead flows with the wind. It leads your gaze to Baizhu, who keeps his left hand at the small of Qiqi’s back, grounding her. You see her eyes dart back and forth between people she can’t bring herself to recognize.
The list is never-ending.
You realize that this must be quite difficult for your subjects, bearing the burden of complete silence. “There will be no ruling of punishment. Not today.”
Morax doesn’t dare raise his head, but protests, “Surely Their Grace will see to it that we are duly punished for our sins.”
You smile gently, “I think not.”
He begins, “Even so, Their Grace shouldn’t be so loose with—“
“Are you questioning my authority, Morax?”
He gulps, taking a crippling pit of shame down into his stomach. Stiffly, he says, “Of course not, your Grace.”
The clouds reel back, retreating to float into yet another corner of the glimmering sky above. The sea of clouds moves North onward - a sign from Teyvat itself.
You can feel Teyvat’s heart beating, resounding through the veins of the land beneath your feet.
The land is alive once more.
You clap your hands, heads perking up at the exclamation. You grin adoringly at your subjects as the sun crowns you, “Please, show me the Liyue you’ve built with your own hands.”
Your people rejoice.
a/n. oh, how i love my dramatic ending lines 😌😌

༄Oh Yaksha, My Yaksha…
— au. sag!imposter!au
— genre. mild angst, fluff
— pairing. incredibly mild xiao x gn!reader (can be platonic if you feel so moved)
— précis. life at the top is lonelier than you could imagine, surely someone can fix that?
— tw/cw. cultish behavior, abuse of power and people
— a/n. first post!! pls enjoy n share ur thoughts :))
— A STINGING GUST of wind bites by your face, residual white noise ringing in your ears. Gazing among Liyue’s sea of clouds at the highest peak of Jueyun Karst is healing, yet it is lonely — almost unbearably so; the clouds painting you an artisanal picture as they pass by.
“Well, it makes fine company for now. As if I have the vanity to prod any more at people’s impression on my presence…” You sighed, the wind following in your favor.
You’ve been here for five days and counting, isolating yourself from the public eye. Least to say, you weren’t expecting such… ravenous attention from your own subjects.
To think that your subjects entertained the idea of you being an imposter is quizzical — albeit, quite comical. Such discrepancies against your prophecy are insulting, scornful, and all else in this world that is ugly. Yet — above all else — the love you bear for Teyvat is bigger than that. Bigger than them. Even bigger than you.
“When the main motivation for a grand task is fear, there was a crack in the fundamental strength.” You held many core values that derived off this belief that shaped your character.
You deeply cherished this part of you and it never dared to waver until you stepped foot unto Teyvat’s soil.
You ponder against your own consciences’s will, “What could have ever happened to a person to deal others a hand of such cruelty?” You come to the conclusion that Teyvat and its true beholders weren’t at fault.
Invariably being set to do the laborious bidding of “The Creator” from the waning of the Morning Star to the descent of the Everlasting Night. Then forced to supplement meager earnings in the form of “The Creators” company.
Human nature influenced by a person so disgusting, so vile; it beckons you to question once again, “What happened to you?”
Though millions have travailed in sorrow; despising the fact their expression was decorated by cascading tears, faced with the greatness of “The Creator”, they submit themselves in all that they are. In any and all truth, you think that deep down, they knew “The Creator” wouldn’t dare to lift a finger in their aid.
Not like they’d believe in the significance of tears in any universe…
Conditioned to think that this is what the twists of fate had set out for them, the people were deceived in the end.
Though as the facts stand, you were still opposing dealer’s choice.
You were condemned the Joker — the Imposter with no just sanctification.
The stars have forsaken you.
A mirthless chuckle slips away from you as you tune back into your surroundings. A faint, constant rhythm of footsteps seeps it’s way into the safe space you’ve made for yourself.
A voice cuts through the silence.
“Your Grace…?”
Recognizing his voice, you smile.
“Safe travels, Alatus?”
He scrambles to his knees, a crushing weight lifting from the depths of his soul. “For Your Lordship, I’d traverse time and space. Whether or not it was safe is irrelevant.”
You turn your body towards him, “Such nonsense…” You flick your wrist in an upward motion and his whole body strikes a stiff posture — as if something had lodged him into place.
You chuckle, aptly helping Alatus relish in your glorious essence. A mere laugh has lessened his battle-won debt, “Such is the way of The Creator,” he thinks.
In response to your divine power, he says, “Immortality would not be a burden if spent with you, Your Grace.”
