HP Rec Fest 2023: Day 23 - Dark Magic For a Dark Love

I'm stoked for this rec fest, @hprecfest! There are so many works posted for this fandom every single day (and there's so much focus on works that are already popular) that new works get buried really quickly.

The dove has been dead for a few days, but you can totally still eat it if you like the taste of strong cheeses. I'm still working my way through this fic so I haven't seen the ending for myself... but this is an incredible and wild ride. Dark fics and body horror are my absolute favourites to read and to write, and this is one of four fics that have really scratched that itch for me this year.

This fic is actually on the fluffier side of body horror because of Sirius's undying romanticism; it's more of what I wish Tim Burton's The Corpse Bride could have been. It's very sweet for a psychological horror fic, and if you can handle the tags I really think you should give it a try. Just take a bite of the dove's wing - Sirius went through so much trouble to put this catering order together so we should all try some!
