mini hc idea: m6 with an mc who has a really dramatic streak / makes a lot of really expressive faces/gestures without realizing it

ie: mc who acts like they dying but really they just stubbed their toe (and honestly didn't even really feel anything) or is just generally really expressive with their poses and facial expressions, regardless of whether they're doing it on purpose or not

The Arcana Mini-HCs: When MC is expressive/dramatic

Julian: plays into it every single time until it spirals so far out of control that other people get genuinely concerned. (e.g. a stubbed toe turns into him loudly lamenting your inability to walk normally)

Asra: thinks it's adorable and could spend forever watching your facial expressions change as you follow different trains of thought. likes to guess at them, sometimes accurately and sometimes not

Nadia: refuses to get sucked into it in public but has the hardest time controlling the smile tugging at her mouth. in private, will goad you into an even more dramatic performance with wide-eyed questions

Muriel: it was annoying to him at first until he caught himself thinking that it was cute, which in turn made him realize that he thinks you're cute. now he blushes out of habit every time you start to act up

Portia: likes to give you playful grief about it, but genuinely loves that she never has to guess about what you're thinking or feeling. ("Help, I bit my tongue!" "Oh no, guess I'll eat your dessert for you then ...")

Lucio: okay look he loves you but there is room for only one dramatic diva in his vicinity and it is HIM - no wait come back, he was being dramatic, he's sure there's a way to share the spotlight, he loves you!

A question, does Lucio's prosthetic arm work or does it just hang on his shoulder? And if the other LI lost an arm what design of their prosthetic arm would be

Honest question: have you played the game?

Not only is he posed in a lot of the art using his arm, he's often described using his arm in narration, and even purely in-universe, why would Lucio kidnap and force two alchemists to build him a prosthetic arm if it wasn't going to do anything?

But onto hypotheticals!

It's kind of cute thinking about what approaches they'd have to needing a prosthetic.

I feel like Asra's would be either made by his parents or self-made, ironically resembling Lucio's arm the most because of those influences. But it'd definitely have more interesting use in channeling magic.

Julian's would be similarly self-made/scrapped together. Lots of exposed metal and leather straps with more of a hook and crude joint than any life-like articulation. I imagine they'd be some magic element but a lot more downplayed.

In contrast, Muriel's is almost all magic. He carved the pieces himself and worked with Asra to fix it in place. While it acts a lot more like a natural arm, I think it's more prone to shorting out.

Nadia's is definitely designed by herself. Even if she had the pieces made and enchanted by other artisans, it's mechanical and elegant in a way only she could design. Like Lucio's, it can have additional covers and accesories.

And Portia's is probably the least expensive and a gift from Mazelinka. It's another case where it's magical, but Portia never knew the extent of it. It's cute, wooden, and jointed like a doll, with a practical hook, and she spent the first days with painting it.

Playing The Arcana for the first time is incredibly funny because the narrative presents itself as a murder mystery except the victim’s ghost is just, there. the whole time.

Unpopular opinion but I feel like Lucio shouldn’t have had a route, he’s so INCREDIBLY irredeemable. Not every antagonist should be forgiven!!!

ik he's canonically nonbinary but i've seen some other 'guy but to the left' players hcing him as their own gender so i thought i would ask! i personally hc asra as agender since i'm a he/him agender and present very similarly to the way asra does :3

Muriel now makes his own soap and cleans himself daily AND even bathes Inanna sometimes, even brushes out her coat so she’s nice and clean too.

i wonder how the other doctors and nurses from julian's old clinic felt watching their former boss on trial insisting that he's a murderer and he has a really unconvincing story to prove it, whilst their former co-worker who's supposed to be DEAD acts as his increasingly exasperated defence attorney

asra convinces muriel to go with him to claires for the first ones - muriel ends up leaving with 2 tiny emerald studs on his ears (they are clip-ons and he takes them off right after he gets home)

think asra should have had more ear piercings .. he would love earrings so much :'/
