after dean threw away the amulet and they are barely talking outside of cases and the world keeps ending and dean keeps getting quieter. sam watches and watches and watches until he can't and he gets drunk for once before dean does and when dean tries to push him onto his bed he grabs deans arm, giant hands closing around his brothers flesh like a cage. he let go before dean pushes him away, feeling like a stranger too big too monstrous in his skin and not the kid brother that dean deserves to have, used to have, but dean stays still. and sam is drunk and he should be slurring but his voice comes out small and clear and he asks Do you ever regret selling your soul for me?

Who’s post was it that was like. Late seasons Sam is living in a completely different genre than everyone else. I think abt that a lot with regards to his general genre savvy & also the implications of what God wanted to do with his story etc etc…like idk which one is more inherently horrific: either 1. God did this deliberately & separating Sam from the rest of them thru genre was another layer of the torture of it all and a bit of gaslighting thrown in or 2. God never really paid attention to Sam and that shit happened by accident (aka the real situation with the writers). Your fate is to always suffer even when God doesn’t step in to make it happen etc etc
