incomplete list of things i really enjoyed while seeing Cats (international tour/Düsseldorf 2025) live at the start of the month:

tugger and misto sitting on the side during Gus the Theater Cat, tugger on the oven and misto on the pipe, and neither paying attention to gus, instead constantly flirting making eye contact and comments (jokes?) at each other

demeter convincing munkustrap to volunteer during mistos number till he reluctantly raised a hand (+ his relief when misto picked cassandra instead)

all songs were done so well but especially gumbie cat live was just awesome. love to see a whole stage full of cats in weird trash costumes tap dancing <3

tugger howling like a dog in the background during pekes & pollicles

second row seats = Intense Eye Contact especially during The Naming Of Cats & Ad-Dressing Of Cats (+ getting a smile from the performers bc my friend and i were mouthing along the lyrics)

the FULL darkness after macavity kills the lights... and Misto relighting all the lights and the stars and the moon... so cute

the old women in the row behind us LOUDLY gasping when misto magic'd back old deut. they were so genuinely impressed by the switcheroo

tugger creeping up on munk and grabbing onto his elbow + munk pulling it back and looking at him angrily. brotherhood looses <3

Happy Pride Month to the trans cats

It’s a common headcanon that Mister Mistoffelees is transgender, as his song’s line “produced seven kittens right out of a hat” could be a slight inference to being trans. As you know, males born male can’t have babies like that.

It’s also a common headcanon that Mungojerrie is a trans male simply due to the fact that male calicos are extremely rare.

I haven’t heard it very much, but I did here and there, that Tantomile is a trans female. The reasoning for such is that twins of opposite genders are uncommon.

I'd like to offer a public thank you to Brian Carmack because I was just trying to ID a tugger in a 89 Vienna recording, and I swore it was him (he played Tugger in the Vienna 89 season) but I wanted evidence, so I was using the 91 Zurich video he was in to compare, but just when I was concluding that the two sounded similar but I wouldn't be able to be 100% sure, he made this dumb fucking noise. Bless him.

I have this strange design for tugger

Where he is not a Maine coon, but more like a rare version of a domestic serval

Who knows, maybe Old Deutoronomy ended up with a domestic serval and that's where this weird mix with a long tail came from.

He is tall, thin and big-eared.

I ended up changing the mane to something like one of those feathered scarves or whatever.

Quite exotic which makes him more striking

Possibly the strange cat of a young man who wants to be a famous singer or musician

Or they just like rock or punk

They adopted this strange cat that ended up growing, the owner doesn't really ask anything, but visitors are surprised when out of nowhere this skinny, lanky long-eared cat appears with a bell on his spiked collar
