Im taking the AP world exam on Monday and is the british monarchy ever relevant or do I actually need to learn stuff like the war of the roses

the british monarchy is relevant when henry viii said screw the church i wanna marry anne boleyn and invented protestantism and split from the vatican cause the vatican got pissy and also that ignited a bunch of religious controversy and shit england and people started getting hardcore with persecution (which later inspired people to form religious refugees in the colonies a hundred years later) 

and queen elizabeth was like decently important because exploration of the “new world” started under her and for the first time she promoted religious toleration.

king george iii is probably important cause of the whole colonies and french revolution nonsense

winston churchill was like decently a big deal but like as long as you know his name youre probably fine. and that he was prime minister during ww2.

you should also know that the british colonized half the planet and were generally p shit to like every native person ever. and that they have a navy. 

i would not spend an insane amount of time on war of the roses. as long as you know like the basic premise. youre good.
