They're operating pop-up kitchens, delivering food and medicine to medical posts, and running water trucks wherever they can.

Speaking of which here is a campaign supporting over 80 Palestinian families in Gaza and the West Bank that still hasn't reached its goal. Support Palestinian art, film, academia, etc too. Read Mohammed El Kurd's latest book, Perfect Victims. In light of the testimony from survivors of the IOF's latest massacre Palestinian paramedics, remember Zionism isn't just something that gives you an excuse to call out celebrities. My friend Mahrah (@mahrahpalestine) is an engineering student. She is brilliant and speaks with a clarity of analysis and thoughtfulness (even in a second language, even while living in crisis), that is profoundly impressive and humbling to me. She holds hope that Palestine will be free, and when it is, she will use her knowledge and skill to help rebuild.

Her father lost his job due to the war, and she does not have the money for university fees. The situation for her and other Palestinians is getting more difficult as the duration of the crossing closure increases, and the genocidal famine is leading to sickness and starvation.

Mahrah explained, "Food is missing from the markets. If the food is found, it is usually unhealthy because it contains preservatives and we eat it for a year and 8 months, and this causes diseases. But there are no other options to do without it. My nephews are at risk for my father's and mother's diseases and need healthy food because they are at an advanced age. It's like a famine, but there is no media to cover what's happening. They killed all the journalists."

Donations have been slowing, and she is afraid for her family's health. If you can spare some money to help them, please do.

Mahrah has been so incredibly kind and loving to me in our conversations, even checking in how I've been while recovering from surgery. She has extended so much compassion towards me, and I want to encourage others to extend that same level of compassion towards her.

Starkid is one of the absolute best arguments for supprting independent art. The fact that the shows you're invested in can't get canceled by Big Daddy Streaming, the quality is always amazing, the love of the cast and crew doesn't get squeezed out by surprise budget reductions, the fact that since crowd funding provides almost all costs up front (plus the presence of voluntary digital ticket/in person tickets for additional funding), the fan base can access the full material for whatever cost they can contribute (even if you can give nothing monetarily, you will still get a professionally shot version of the material eventually, without surprise fees or password crackdowns, AND with captions/completely accesible regardless of location). The same goes for Tin Can Bros, Shipwrecked, and all the other associated theater and web series companies loosely connected to Starkid. Like, I cannot believe the amazing content provided to us at the same level as Broadway or streaming services with billion dollars at hand, with almost none of the catches that come with others. Like, I cannot believe that we get all of this right at our hands.
