I think the funniest thing about this chart is that with my significantly younger friends there are some quite severe and frequent miscommunications going on in most of our conversations. I once told my friend they were "free to do as they wished", and they thought I was approving their decision to walk nearly into traffic without looking up from their phone. I told another friend, who was applying for a college and had asked me to edit their essay, that it was "full of heart, but had a few errors". I proceeded to then subtly attempt to point out at least 15 and offer some replacement phrases to improve flow. Then they had the gall to say that none of the errors mattered, and all they had wanted to know was if it "made sense and sounded good". I finally agreed it did, if only because I had spent the last 10 minutes trying to explain that it did not.
