So did any other nonhumans spend your childhood staring out the window, feeling some great sense of longing and loss, like you were meant to be somewhere greater, more wild? Like you were meant to be running through the woods, flying across treetops, or swimming through lakes and feeling disappointed that your human vessel couldn't do that?

hello!! could you share any information or experiences you have with Glasya-Labolas? thank you!!
Hi there! I’d be more than happy to share info and personal experiences on Count/President Glasya-Labolas. ^.^
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m actually currently working on a digital zine that compiles extensive grimoire lore on the Goetian daemons (which I plan to publish on my Ko-fi and make available to everyone free of charge), so I’d be more than happy to copy and paste Glasya-Labolas’s entry from my zine draft here and share it with you. :) Here’s his entry from my zine draft:
The twenty-fifth Daemon is called Glasya-Labolas, also known as Caacrinolaas, Caassimolar, Glasya Labolas, Gloolas, Ozia, Carmola, Glosialobolas, Glassialabolas, Classyalabolas, Glasyalabolas, and Glolas. He is ranked as an Earl/Count and President of Hell, but is also ranked as a King and Prince in other grimoires.
He appears in the form of a dog with the wings of a gryphon, but when taking human shape, he appears as an old man riding upon an elephant.
He is the author of bloodshed and manslaughter, and teaches all arts and sciences, including the liberal arts. He can tell one of all regarding the past, present, and to come. He grants the understanding of birds, as well as the trapping of thieves and murderers, and can render one invisible. He also enkindles love between people, and can procure the love and favour of friends and enemies, as well as provide insight into their affairs. He speaks the truth on all things, and can carry one swiftly from one place to another.
I've also included his grimoire entries, which I will list below with links to their sources.
Side Note: Some of these sources are in PDF form, so they may automatically be downloaded to your device upon opening the link.

. 🦴 ~ Grimoire Entries ~ 🦴
From Crowley’s Goetia: “The Twenty-fifth Spirit is Glasya-Labolas. He is a Mighty President and Earl, and showeth himself in the form of a Dog with Wings like a Gryphon. He teacheth all Arts and Sciences in an instant, and is an Author of Bloodshed and Manslaughter. He teacheth all things Past, and to Come. If desired he causeth the love both of Friends and of Foes. He can make a Man to go Invisible. And he hath under his command 36 Legions of Spirits.” --- ✩Source✩
From The Lemegeton: “The 25th spirit is called Glasya Labolas, he is a Mighty President & showeth himself in the form of a dog with wings like a griffin; he teacheth all arts in an Instant, and is an author of Bloodshed & Manslaughter, he telleth all Things past & to come, if desired, & causeth love of friends and foes; he can make a Man go Invisible, & he hath under his rule 36 Legions of spirits.” --- ✩Source✩
From The Pseudomonarchia Daemonum: “Glasya Labolas, alias Caacrinolaas, or Caassimolar, is a great President, who cometh forth like a dog, and hath wings like a griffon, he giveth the knowledge of arts, and is the captain of all manslaughters: he understandeth things present and to come, he gaineth the minds and love of friends and foes, he maketh a man go invisible, and hath the rule of thirty-six legions.” --- ✩Source✩
From The Liber Officiorum Spirituum [Entry 1]: “Gloolas a great King or Prince, he appeareth like to a dog having wings, & he is the chief leaders of murderers, & knoweth things past present & to come, & he giveth knowledge of friends & of enemies, & maketh a man to go invisible, & so long as the caller or master will, & hath under him 20 legions.” --- ✩Source✩
From The Liber Officiorum Spirituum [Entry 2]: “The 1st is called Ozia, he can teach all manner of arts or sciences, invisibility & give favour of enemies, he can carry one from one place to another & that upon a sudden he appeareth like an old man riding an elephant.” --- ✩Source✩
From The Livre Des Esperitz: “Carmola is a great Prince who gives understanding of birds and of trapping thieves and murderers when one commands him. He makes people invisible and speaks truth of that which one asks; and has 26 legions.” --- ✩Source✩
From The Grand Grimoire: “Naberus [Nebiros], Field Marshal, or Inspector General, has the power to do evil to whomever he pleases and enables one to find the Hand of Glory and teaches the qualities of minerals, vegetables and of all of the animals, pure and impure, possesses the art of foretelling the future, being one of the best Necromancers of all of the Infernal Spirits. He can go anywhere and inspects all of the Infernal Militias and has beneath him Ayperos, Naberus [Naberius] and Glosialobolas, etc.” --- ✩Source✩
From The Dictionnaire Infernal: “Caacrinolaas, also named Caassimolar and Glasya-Labolas, high President of Hell. He presents himself in the form of a dog, and he ambles like one, with the wings of a griffin. He gives knowledge of the liberal arts, and by a bizarre contrast, he inspires murder. One says that he predicts the future very well. This demon can make a man invisible and commands thirty-six legions. The Great Grimoire calls him Classyalabolas, and makes only of him a kind of sergeant who was sometimes mounted on Nebiros or Naberus.” --- ✩Source✩
From The Book Of Ceremonial Magic: “GLASYALABOLAS, a mighty President, who comes in the form of a dog, but winged like a griffin, He teaches all arts and sciences instantaneously, incites to bloodshed, is the leader of all homicides, discerns past and future, and makes men invisible.” --- ✩Source✩
From The Offices Of Spirits [Excerpt]: “Glolas is a mighty Prince & will appear in [the] likeness of a dog having wings, & a chief leader of murderers and know the things past & things to come, and giveth knowledge of friends & enemies and make a man to go invisible & hath 20 legions of spirits.” --- ✩Source✩
Stellas Daemonum is also pretty good at compiling information on the goetian daemons, though I'd advise to read it critically as with all occult literature. Here is a link to the PDF.

. 🦴 ~ Personal Experience ~ 🦴
In terms of personal experience, I honestly haven’t worked with Count/President Glasya-Labolas in quite a long time, though I still have a little bit of experience with him, which I’d be happy to share. (He also recently visited me while I was writing this post and helped me out a little with writing it lmao.)
My first encounter with Glasya-Labolas was a couple years ago from now, I think. I felt drawn to him at the time, and took this as a sign that he may have been reaching out to me (though I don’t know for sure). So I gave him a couple of offerings and wrote a devotional prayer to him. I would also practice sigil divination with his sigil to learn more about him and connect with his energies. Here’s some basic information pertaining to both research/analysis and personal gnosis that I have on Glasya-Labolas:
☆. Personality & Energy Signature .☆
☠️ Glasya-Labolas isn’t exactly the most gentle daemon I’ve met. His energies can be a little overwhelming and quite intense; I’ve found his energies to be quite chaotic and tempestuous at times. He is assertive, strong-willed, protective, and can also be quite blunt and maybe a little harsh sometimes, but he means well at the end of the day and wants what's best for you. He also has a sarcastic sense of humour lol.
☆. Areas Of Influence .☆
🗡 Given he is said to be an “author of bloodshed and manslaughter” and can “trap thieves and murderers”, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to suggest he specialises in causing/easing conflict, bringing about endings and resolutions, and avenging those who have been wronged by others. He could also be of assistance when it comes to baneful magic, curse work, and revenge spells, or spells involving justice, vengeance, discord, courage, strength, and protection.
🖤 He can teach and assist one in divination, as he is said to “know the past, present, and to come”. He is also a daemon of social intercourse, being that he can “grant the love and favour of friends and foes”, as well as inspire love between people, and can be worked with to help you with interpersonal matters and relationships.
☁️ He is associated with travel and transportation too, and can ensure safety and efficacy in travel. He is also a daemon of knowledge, learning, and study, as he teaches the seven liberal arts, like many other daemons of the Goetia. He can also “make one go invisible” and conceal one’s doings, keeping things private and helping one to go unseen.
☆. Correspondences .☆
☀️ In terms of planetary associations, I consider him to be associated with the planets Mars (strength, courage, war, action, conflict, aggression, passion, sexuality) and Mercury (learning, communication, social intercourse, the mind, intellect, travel, intelligence).
🔥 In terms of elemental correspondences, I consider him to be associated with both fire (authority, destruction, protection, courage, strength, power, love, passion, sexuality) and air (knowledge, thought, intuition, intelligence, communication).
🌿 As for herbs/plants, I honestly haven't further explored this; But based off some quick research, he could probably be associated with yarrow, borage, black pepper, chilli, garlic, lilac, and black nightshade? But again, I haven't explored this in depth so I'm not too sure. Make of this what you will lol.
🎨 I associate Glasya-Labolas with the colours; rose red, blood red, fiery orange, deep magenta, wine red, rich black, electric blue, electric violet, and cloud grey.
Side Note: I haven't included any gemstone/crystal correspondences as it is quite difficult to obtain gemstones ethically, and I also don't really use crystals/gemstones in my personal practice.
Here are some other correspondences: ↓ 🧭 Direction --- North (as per the Liber Officiorum Spirituum a.k.a. the Book Of Oberon) 🐺 Animals --- vultures, coyotes, hawks, falcons, dogs, elephants, owls, gryphons 🌅 Season --- Summer 🕰 Time --- Noon to dusk 💎 Metal --- Mars, Mercury/Quicksilver 🗓 Day --- Tuesday, Wednesday ✨ Incense --- Dragon's blood, cedar-wood, basil, sandal-rose
Tumblr media
Also this is just my personal gnosis, but I believe that many daemons originate from the bastardisation and vilification of deities, spirits, and entities of other religions. I believe that if a deity/spirit is demonised enough, it can sometimes lead to that entity being "fractured", which in turn leads to that demonised "piece" of the entity breaking away and gaining complete autonomy seperate from their fountainhead. I speculate this may have been what happened with Glasya-Labolas.
From the research I've done, I have seen a lot of parallels between Glasya-Labolas and the god Ares/Mars. Their shared associations with bloodlust, war, battlelust, and civil order suggests they may be linked in some way. Additionally, Glasya-Labolas appeared as a winged dog most of the time and is sometimes associated with birds as per his Livre Des Esperitz grimoire entry; Ares is said to be associated with dogs and birds. But this is all just my unverified personal gnosis lol.

Reminder the religious burnout exists, and that's ok, actually. You don't need to be 100% ready to give all of yourself for the gods constantly. Remember that it's ok to step back, take a breather, and focus on other things.
Also, simple acts of devotion like randomly just saying, "Good night, [deity name]!" is still an act of devotion. It may seem small, but when small is all you can do, that's more than ok. 🧡

My symbology pages from one of my grimoires. I tend to do this in every book because I never fail to stumble across new sigils, symbols, and glyphs. Of course I must jot down my favorites. 🖤

🌹 Love & Sex Magic Basics
Tumblr media
Some good knowledge to have in the back of the mind when performing love and sex magic, alone or with others, yourself or for others. Sex and love magic often work together.
As always, I do not want minors on these posts, this is an 18+ only post.
Blog post include...
TIME - The best times to cast love and sex magic.
SPACE - The best places to performance.
TOOLS - Great talismans and objects to have near you when performing.
COLOURS - Best colours to use.
NUMBERS - Numbers use and to invoke.
WATERS - Spell waters to use for enhancements.
OILS - Spell oils best suited for love and sex magic.
BOTANICALS & APHRODISIACS - Flowers, herbs, foods, etc. These are the botanicals to use for love and sex magic, especially the aphrodisiac ones.
NOTES - Extra good knowledge to know when performing love and sex spells.
TIME
Tumblr media
🌑 New Moon: The new moon is associated with our shadow self. Due to history and religion, we often associate sex and desires with our shadow self, something kind of unacceptable. It's such a primal human feeling, lust. So sex magic benefits from the New Moon greatly.
🌒 Waxing: The moon is getting bigger and brighter. Creating an ideal phase for magic around growth. Say you're in a relationship already, you'd want it to grow better and stronger, this is an ideal time to add extra passion into your sex life too.
🌕 Full Moon: Everything is full and intense on the Full Moon. Generally, all spells are enhanced during Full Moon, so you may cast sex magic here to enhance them. See what works best for you whenever it is the Full Moon or New Moon.
♀️ Friday: These are the best days for love and sex magic. This day is in honour of Venus. But you may also know it as the day of Aphrodite, Freya, and Oshun. Generally, love spirits are most powerful during Fridays.
🕒 The Clock: Typically, daylight brings abundance, growth, and positive influences. Night brings out the shadow self, intuition and emotional self. You could prepare spells in the daylight and performe them during night. See what works best for you. I wouldn't worry too much about the exact clock.
SPACE
Tumblr media
🛏️ The Bedroom: The bedroom is home to the bed, a place we spend roughly ⅓ of our lives in. I believe it oozes with great magical threshold and potential. It's the home to our subconscious mind and desires. A bed is also where we typically perform pleasurable acts. Performaning sex magic in the bedroom is more potent than that of the living room.
🛁 The Bathroom: Not the place we typically have acts of pleasure, but it is a place we're often bare and naked in. we take baths, or get ready and make sure we looks alright, make sure we smell good, some do their makeup here, so on and so forth. I often perform glamour magic in the bathroom, and if you do glamour magic in conjunction with sex magic, your sex magic has a greater chance of success. Glamour magic is about attraction, and sex magic is specifically attracting pleasure. Think of them as collaborative partners occasionally.
TOOLS
Tumblr media
🌿 Priapic Wand: A wand with a phallic object attached to the end, usual that of an acorn or pinecone. Mainly used to encourage the growth of Spring and is a symbol of Imbolc and Beltane. You may attache ribbons and bells to it as well.
🌿 Mermaid Wand: Mermaids or sirens are said to have lured sailors into the sea with their beauty and sexual nature. A mermaid wand is simply a piece of driftwood.
🌿 Copper Wand: Copper holds romance and feminine energy, so copper wands are often used in love spells, tope it with a rose quartz to enhance the powers.
🦢 Swan/Rooster Feathers: Swans are often a romantic symbol of grace and beauty, we often see swans in artworks being their iconic heart symbol together, they're also a bird that mates for life. Roosters on the other hand help ward off evil and are a symbol of male energy. I see rooster feathers often used in love magic, perhaps because the rooster is such a lady's man?
🔧 Iron: Representing primal male power. Iron helps invoke sexual desire and remedy lack of libido. Iron is also hard, stiff, and endures a lot. So we're hoping that it's magical properties will tranfer through to the spells. Soaking iron in water and using that water to bath your man, specifically the part that's actually useful about us, will enhance us to perform better.
🕯️ Candles: Candles are already used in every spell there is, I'm mainly placing it here since I've found that when you involve another person and light their name on fire it invoke passion and sexual drive.
💕 Adult Toys: I suggest having literal symbols of sex near you or being used when performing sex magic. Even greater if you have one specifically for the use of these rituals. Similarly, having pornography to stimulate you is favoured, or a partner.
🐎 Horseshoes or Horse Symbols: Horseshoes are often associated with luck and protection. But can also be a powerful love talisman. Horse shoes incorporate iron (as discussed above), the shape of a horse shoe is reminiscens a cresent moon, often associated with female energy, and it may also be associated with the symbol of double horns which is a symbol of the female genitalia (Statues showing off the vulva frightened off ghosts because the vulva is a symbol of life and ghosts are dead). The symbol of a horse adds additonal meaning, especially that of a stallion, being that of powerful virile animals. If you were to hammer a nail through a horseshoe, well, isn't that obvious why?
COLOURS
Tumblr media
🍎 Red: A primary colour, red is associated with life and passion in many cultures. Red is connected to the body through health, sex, lust, love, romance, passion, confidence.
🍊 Orange: Symbolising connections in our life. It has associations with power, vitality, energy, growth, success, and ambitions. Great colour to use when you're already in a relationship.
💗 Pink: Often a feminine colour, therefore, it represents those quirks and stereotypes. Unconditional love, playfulness, love, gentleness, beauty, feelings. It's also the lesser colour of red, so if you'd want more intimate sex rather than rough, I recommended pink.
NUMBERS
Tumblr media
2️⃣ Two (2): For obvious reasons, it is the number of unity, of harmony.
5️⃣ Five (5): I have heard to invoke the power of Oshun (Orisha of Love), you should use the number five.
6️⃣ Six (6): To invoke the power of Aphrodite (Lady of Love), use the number six.
8️⃣ Eight (8): To invoke the power of Inanna-Ishtar (Queen of Heaven), use the number eight. Eight is also the number associated with eternity and infinity if you lay it down, so use it to keep a relationship and sex life intact.
🔢 Numerology: Generally, lesser numbers are beginnings and bigger numbers are endings. So use lesser numbers to start a passionate life and bigger numbers to have greater orgasms, etc. See what works best for you.
WATERS
Tumblr media
🕊️ Angel's Water: This water began as a complexation remedy in the sixtheenth-century before slowly becoming a love potion. It's name is a reference to the Angels that seduced the daughters of man in the Book of Genesis. It's also known as Aphrodite Water with it's main ingredient being Myrtle, which is said is what Aphrodite was covered in when she emerged from the ocean.
💞 Florida Water: Originally marketed as a cologne. Florida Water has attractive qualities due to it's scent with rosemary and citrus aspects. IT draws in luck, fantastic energies, and happiness.
🌹 Rose Water: Roses are often associated with love and romance, especially the red variant. Rose Water, or any flower water for that matter, are often used in love spells and beauty spells.
🍷 May Wine: Ritual potion for Midsummer’s Eve and Walpurgis Night. Some of my potions require mixing ingredients into a wine, and I choose May Wine, if I don't have that, red wine is fine.
OILS
Tumblr media
💖 Love Oil: Used for love and sex spells, as well as being used for attraction.
💘 Come To Me Lover Oil: Consider this a deluxe version of Love Oil. Perfect for sex magic and attraction of people, used mainly for specific purposes, such as drawing in a specific kind of sex life or person.
🐈 Black Cat Oil: Break bad spells and hexes, attract positive attention, especially that of the opposite gender. Depending on what oil base you choose, jojoba or castor oil for protection and almond oil for love spells.
🌿 Cleopatra Oil: Captures the true essence of legendary Egyptian queen, Cleopatra. Used for glamor spells, love and sex magic.
BOTANICALS & APHRODISIACS
Tumblr media
💐 Botanicals: Basil, carrots, catnip, chamomile, cardamom, coriander, cubeb, gardenia, grains of paradise, hibiscus, hyacinth, iris, jasmine, lady’s mantle, lavender, lovage, mint, onion, orchid, poppy, rose, rosemary, saint john’s wort, southernwood, strawberries, thyme, tormentil, vervain.
Botanicals associated with romance and sex and/or can enhance your love and sex spells.
🍾 Aphrodisiacs: Caviar, champagne, chocolate, coriander, apricots, peaches, cherries, grapes, figs, pomegranates, garlic, hibiscus tea, honey, hot peppers, mint, onions, radishes, saffron, shellfish, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, sushi, vanilla, tomato.
Ingredients in which have shown to have aphrodisiac effects, some more than others.
☁️ Myrrh and Frankincense: They may not be obvious, with their religious background and association. However, they were burned in ancient Egypt, and myrrh was associated with Isis, the goddess of fertility, and frankincense with that of Rah. The lunar and sun goddess and god. Burn together with a partner or burn myrrh if you're more fem leaning and frankincense if you're mask leaning. Burn myrrh if you're attracting a woman and burn frankincense if you're attracting a man. What if you're nonbinary or the partner is? Burn both.
NOTES
Tumblr media
Some extra good things to note before, during, and after performing love and sex spells.
Bathing your hands in Rose Water to enhance spells before performing - You may also use thyme.
Performing naked for sex magic increases the chances of success. Alternatively, clothing that makes you feel sexy.
Wearing a red ribbon around your waist for sexual seduction enhancement. You may use red string and incorporate knot magic, or a red gather belt, or regular belt. Something red around your waist, essentially.
In sex magic, you'll want to stir counter-clockwise. This is to invoke passion and vigour in your sex life. While clockwise is the opposite and lessens the libido. You may also think of it as counter-clockwise for deviance and clockwise for "vanilla".
Stir near your thighs and genitals to enhance success and better sex.
Stir near your heart for romantic love.
The hair off of someone's head is often used in love spells to draw them near you and make them love you. However, if you acquire their pubic hair, more sexual and aroused feelings will be invoked.
Use your sexual bodily fluids to charge and enchant sigils and other objects.
Use menstrual blood to enhance love spells. Are you someone who do not bleed like me? Worry not! Prick your ring finger, preferably that of the left (unless you're married, then that of the right) and the blood will have a similar effect to that of menstrual blood.
Are your love spells not working on your lover? Acquire a piece of their hair and let gentle water drip on ti it continually and the resistance should wear off. Sometimes your lover may even be cursed with lack of sexual performances, so bathing in iron would help or eating any of the aphrodisiac ingredients would help too.
It helps to be in the mindset when performing love and sex spells, so being aroused and excited for sex spells helps them perform better. Being in a romantic mood helps for love spells, so feed yourself well with cherries, peaches, and chocolate. As well as having your favourite adult toys out when doing sex magic or also warming yourself up and then performing sex magic.
That should be it, go out and have lots of good sex and love!
Excuse grammar mistake and spelling errors, English is not my first language.

Collecting And Utilizing Magick Charms
Tumblr media
My personal charm collection.
Magick charms are small, enchanted objects used for protection, luck, attraction, and spiritual power. Witches, shamans, and mystics have used charms for centuries to enhance spells, manifest intentions, and guard against negative forces. This comprehensive guide will help you collect, store, and use charms effectively in your witchcraft.
What is a Magick Charm?
A magick charm is any object infused with energy or intention to create a desired effect. Unlike talismans (which attract energy) or amulets (which repel energy), charms can do both, depending on their purpose.
Uses of Magick Charms in Witchcraft:
• Protection – Shields against negative energy, hexes, and harm.
• Luck & Prosperity – Draws fortune, money, and success.
• Love & Attraction – Enhances self-love, relationships, and passion.
• Healing & Wellness – Promotes emotional, physical, and spiritual health.
• Psychic Abilities & Divination – Strengthens intuition, dreamwork, and spirit communication.
• Manifestation & Goal Achievement – Focuses energy on specific desires.
Collecting Magick Charms
Magick charms can be found, crafted, or gifted. The key is choosing objects that resonate with your energy and intention.
Where to Find Charms:

Similar to my grimoire guide, this is a guide on deity journals.
What Is A Deity Journal?
A deity journal is a journal dedicated to a deity. It’s filled with information, offerings, devotional pieces, etc. If you like journaling or can’t give other physical offerings (like food, libations, etc.), it’s one of the best offerings out there.

Sometimes you need to sleep, sleep a lot. Not to escape, but to rest your soul from your feelings. Because everything, absolutely everything devours you. Completely.

I hope you realize how fucking powerful you are.
If you tell your body that you are sick, it will create symptoms to support you.
If you tell your brain that you are tired, it will make sure your body backs you up.
If you tell your heart that you hate life, it will share with you reasons to end it.
All of you — from every cell of your vessel to every fiber of your soul — obeys your words.
So tell your body you are healthy. Tell your brain you are lucky. Tell your heart you are happy.
Wield your power wisely.

Hell isn't just a place of torment.
That's just one face of it. Hell is also a place of birth, where souls of demonic origin are birthed by the source of hell's energy. It is also a place of rebirth, where demonic souls are reincarnated before being sent to whichever plane of existence that soul's incarnation is contracted. It is also a home to many demons and other entities. It is a place of festivities for some. A place for training for others.
It is a shining marble palace for some of its royalties. It is also, though minor, a place of torment for the wretched.
Hell is multifaceted. It's not just screams of anguish that rattles bones in hell. If you visit it with an open mind you'll see it's got its own charm.

Paganism has given me such an immense appreciation for the fact that I am a human being and i don’t even know how to explain it.
Thank the Gods that I was born as a human being. Thank the Gods that I was born into a human body.
Thank the Gods that I was born with eyes that can see light, but only a specific section of light that can allow me to understand matter. Light that has travelled for billions of years only to interact with me here, at this point in space and time
Thank the Gods that I was born with ears that can hear sound and interpret it as music. That I my face and bones were formed to create a mouth that can create complex sounds, so that someone that I love can know that I love them. So they can know anything that I could ever tell them. Thank Gods I was born as a creature with the power to create language, to communicate information through words.
That I have tiny electric signals that connect my skin to my brain, so I can feel touch. So I can smell. So I can understand that I am here, that this is here, that this happened.
Thank Gods that I am human, and I can look into the sky with absolute aw, not knowing whether it is looking back at me. Thank Gods that I can have these thoughts, that I can feel some sort of love and significance in these millions of complex frequencies. That it isn’t just information, that it isn’t just static.
Thank Gods that I am large enough that the movement of my atoms doesn’t make me feel like I am being torn apart. Thank Gods I am small enough that my rotation around the Earth doesn’t make me motion sick.
Thank Gods that my ancestors and their ancestors and those before them had so many experiences that their memories are written into my biological code as symbols. So that when I see the moon, the sun, the mother, the hero, the fool and the poet, my mind understands them as significant. Thank Gods that I see red as passion and love because it is the color of my blood. And blue is serenity and melancholy and peace, because the sky and sea are blue.
Thank Gods that I am human, and I was born into a species that cared enough about itself to record what it did. To expand upon their theories and continue their pursuits. To be infinitely wiser than those who came before.
Thank Gods that I have a body, that I have a mind and a soul too. That my body carries me, cradles me though this experience with absolute care. Protecting me, telling me, far faster than I can even perceive, that I am here, that the universe is here. That this is all around me.
Thank Gods that I am human, and I know the canine well. And he recognizes me from a multi century long acknowledgment of ancient companionship. Thank Gods I am human, and I am so interested in the lady bug, because no one else would count her spots. Because no one else would study the way the spider spins her web. Because no one else would be so curious as to count the carvings made over millions of years on the ocean floor. Because no one else thinks to wonder how a penny tastes.
Thank Gods that I am human and my mothers mother told her stories. That I believed in ideas that were fabricated in my nursery. Thank Gods that I read the tales of fantasy and historical fiction that have lead to my ability to imagine a dragon, a fairy, a Erdrich horror which exceeds all words for which I could describe it. A God
Thank Gods that I am human, and I can pray. Thank Gods that I can find Gods in high and low places, on massive and minimum scales. Thank Gods that I can traverse the entire universe in this mind that contains me. That I can explore distant worlds, alternate realities, with the assurance that I can always come home. To this body, to this world. Thank Gods that I am trapped within this body for now and that God can use this body to speak to me. That I can observe God propagating through the world, that I can ask God endless questions. Thank Gods that I have endless questions. Why why why must I know, why must I understand this thing that is living. Why why why must I stub my toe and get eyelashes in my eye and hiccups and random vibrations in my stomach
Thank Gods that I am so reactionary, that I get frustrated and embarrassed and inspired and enraged. Thank Gods that i can feel pain, thank Gods that I can feel ecstasy.
Thank Gods that I see that woman that works at the grocery store every other day. Thank Gods I noticed she changed her hair. Thank Gods that I thought about changing my hair, and changing my gender, and changing my name.
Thank Gods that I grow at a rate that is not too fast, but not too slow. Thank Gods that I am changing, that I am not the same as I was before.
Thank Gods that I can look up at the moon and love her. I think it makes it all worth it, even if I cannot ever truly know if she loves me. I can believe it to be so. Thank Gods that I can believe it to be so.
Thank Gods that I am human. Thank Gods that I am here in this body living on this Earth in this year, in this moment. Thank Gods that I am human.
For as long as I am human, and I may not be human forever, thank Gods that at least right now, I am human.
