jonah was mostly fumbling along his thoughts, taking tid bits and piecing it together. in reality, he’s an all out mess. the drugs mixed with his life in general, it wasn’t a good option but it makes things easier. he’s okay with it. as the other pitches in, it changed his whole mindset.
“ woah … okay, might have a point there. i don’t know where that goes… human race wins ? dies ? we might just have to see for ourselves. “ he was talking more so to himself than to anyone before him, but nevertheless, a smile crept onto his lips.
“ So you didn’t actually believe anything you just said.” Astra said raising an eyebrow here she thought she hound found someone intellectual with a leg to actually stand on, regardless of what he thought Astra thought he was on to something. “You should take that theory of your’s over to the scientists at the saints.”

“ okay , but just — 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 about it . if it rained down and people were infected , from the start , before they even died , wouldn’t the toxin just be the virus 𝙀𝙑𝘼𝙋𝙊𝙍𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙉𝙂 through the skin ? so like , they’re decomposing or turning human . it’s gotta be one or two . “
“Could be but I couldn’t think of those things as being capable of humanity ever again. Maybe they will self-destruct in a little puff of stinky gas.” This toxin was what most people talked about these days, what is it, what does it mean, why is it happening. Astra wished she had all the answers that people desired but alas she did not and she didn’t know when someone might.

♥ ❝ I’m really sorry for running into you. Two left feet and all. ❞ she’s smiling, warmth radiating from beneath her skin. It was a simple bump in, though a slight blush had given her cheeks a flushed red tint. ❝ I’m Allie… and you are? ❞ the blonde leaned in slightly, looking up at the stranger with green eyes ablaze.
It had been a long time since Astra had seen someone quite this bright and bubbly, in all honestly it was kind of nice like a breath of fresh air. “I’d just be a little more careful next time, not everyone would be this forgiving. I haven’t seen you around before what brings you to camp serotonin.”

That’s what makes a good leader, he supposes. He wouldn’t know. Put him in a leading position and the world would burn down a second time. That’s probably one of the reasons he decided to become a nurse, rather than a doctor: he gets to be right there, help where it’s needed most, and that directly, but without the responsibility of decisions and leadership. He’d fail. And that thought doesn’t generate from self-loathing; it’s a mere fact. Back home, too, his sister had been the one- “Would ‘everything’ be an unhelpful answer?” He tries for humour, regrets it shortly after. “The usual, mostly. Hunters. Injuries. Casualties. The toxin. What we could do to help the Saints. Sometimes I wonder whether… Well, I wonder, when you think of the toxin, do you feel within you, a certainty that something can be done?”
Astra sighed, she had always made it a point to never lie to her people, lying would only cause problems later on down the track but his words really hit home in her, usually she was so sure of everything being adaptable was what she was good at. “To be completely honest with you Thomas, I have no idea.” Astra had thought a lot about the toxin and what it meant for the world, but she was no scientist and never claimed to be any of the sort. “I hope there is and if there is we will do everything we can to help stop the toxin you have my word.”

pandora thought highly of her leader , a woman in charge of a large community . just , fair . she couldn’t imagine being where she was now ; stuck inside , rooted . every morning , panda hit the ground running . an itch to do something . fingers would shake , play with whatever blunt object she could get her hands on a hunting junkie , she was , but one at astra’s beck & call . ❛ we could go further out … but then we’d have to spare more resources in case the individual ends up gone for more than a few days . ❜
“I think we have the resources to spare. Crops are coming along and we have the dam for water and power, I just don’t know who would be willing to go out for days and I couldn’t expect them too nor could I ask.” Astra never forced people to work those who could and did simply just got more privileges. Those who were sick or had to look after children got the apocalyptic version of the minimum basic wage those who risked their lives got to keep what they brought back that wasn’t a direct need for the community. “We are definitely gonna need more of this stuff.” Astra said taking another swig. “Did we end up finding the distillery?” apparently it was untouched, “If we could control the booze supply we would have more bartering power.”

you see the war once , you see it everywhere . eyes closed , eyes open ; those cold shivers , nights drenched in sweat , waking up with hands wrapped around innocent throats . she kept a smile on her face because it was easier to deal with this way . it’s who she was . but the one poison that seemed to null the ache was whiskey - lots of it , & that had not changed today . bottle swung in her hand , product offered with stretched arms to astra . ❛ same old stuff . we’re really starting to lose ground though . places are becoming harder to get into . ❜
Astra reached out and took the bottle with a nod of her head as a sign of thanks. It felt right to drink with another person who shared not only the destruction of the world now, but saw the obliteration of cultures and communities and did what they had to do to try to make this world a better place. Sometimes war was justified, sometimes it wasn’t but either you had to always remember what you were fighting for and the times when you became lost, well lets just say a little liquid courage could go a long way. “You’r not the first who has said that, we need new strategies think outside of the box we need to stay a step ahead.” There she went again her survival instinct kicked in the leader in her was brimming just under the surface just waiting to give a speech filled with inspiration and passion. Although she did have to admit she missed the fight sometimes, she rarely went out to hunt anymore she had this whole place to take care of but she knew she was blessed to have people like Pandora on her side.

The Most Important Things In Life Are The Connections You Make With Others
THE FIVE
This is a group of travellers who met along the road in the year leading up to the founding of camp serotonin. They were the original 5 who voted for Astra’s leadership, some may have moved on to other camps other places in the world, but they will always have a place here if ever they need it.

Behind Every Scar Is An Untold Story Of Survival.
ASTRA

FULL NAME: Amelia Grace Warren (Nobody post apocalypse know this she has gone by her military codename)
TITLE: Lieutenant
NICKNAME: Astra

SEX: Female
ETHNICITY: Afro-American
SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Don’t think it matters both can get the job done just as well.

HEIGHT: 1.78m
BUILD: Athletic (It’s amazing what a career in the special forces can do for you)
AGE: 50
EYE COLOUR: Dark Brown
HAIR COLOUR: Dark Brown - Black
SCARS: It’s the fucking apocalypse who doesn’t have em.
FAITH: As far as faith goes Astra believes in survival it’s hard to believe in a high power when the world has turned to shit.

PERSONALITY SNAPSHOT.
Astra has always been adaptable for as long as she could remember she was always the one who took initiative to make the best of each situation no matter how trying the circumstances might be and this brave new world was no exception.
Theres a place and time to work on your own but you must also be able to work with others. This was a sort of mantra for Astra and it was something the military had instilled in her from day one. It’s just as important to know how to save your own skin as much as it is to work in a team towards a better future for everyone.
Being apart of the Green Beret’s had also given her the skills to be a compassionate person. Although now a trained killer she was taught to help the little guy and never leave someone behind. But the most important thing was to give mercy. As leader it was her job to give mercy to any of her people that were on their death bead so they didn’t have to become like the vial creatures that now roamed the earth.
BEST TRAITS
HONESTY - Really is the best policy is you can’t be honest with yourself and those around you in the camp how are you to trust people with your lives. As a leader one of her best traits and also one thing that is sure to keep you in her good books. Astra doesn’t like being lied to especially from her people. Sometimes even though the truth may hurt Astra understands that an honest society is the kind of society that will survive the war with the undead.
PASSIONATE - This trait really kicked in post infection. After loosing her family due to being on assignment when the outbreak occurred she became very dedicated and passionate to finding a place where people could rebuild and families could survive. She has so much passion for making a new and better world but she knows that in order to achieve this people must have the skills to survive a big part for children in her camp has to do with learning how to survive even against all the odds.
WORST TRAITS
INTOLERANT - Astra is not ignorant to nor intolerant of people more of their actions based around stupidity. You make a mistake you fix it or ask someone for help to fix it, learn from your mistake and become a better person. In this world mistake can get people killed and while Astra is understanding she refuses to take shit from anyone harm her people and you will meet your maker.
DETACHED - Although she cares for her people intimacy is something that she has detached herself from being a leader is not easy, you have to make tough decisions other people want to take things from you there isn’t much room to share your heart, yeah she understands a woman’s needs and there is sex out there for her to have but when it comes to sharing a part of her soul, she has been there and done that and lost everyone she loved, she doesn’t want to go through that pain again not when she has to be strong and lead her people into a new society. Because of this none of her people even her second in command knows nothing about her past family, her real name or her life, apart from that she was special forces in the military.
Pre-Doomsday
Astra doesn’t talk about life before, its almost like that was a different version of her a version who had a nice home, in a nice neighbourhood, a loving husband and 2 amazing children. She lived to fight for her country and for those who didn’t have the capacity to fight for themselves. But that all seemed like a distant memory now...
OOC;
Hey guys I’m Kiani, this is my Fierce leader Astra I am open to all ideas for connections and can’t wait to get brainstorming with you, I’m unsure wether to make her family alive or dead maybe leaning more towards alive so I will post a connection for them if anyone is interested but throw your connections at me. So excited to be part of this world with you guys :)

Thomas can probably count the occasions he’s had to talk to the leader on one hand; it wasn’t so much the lack of opportunity, for they all live in the same area, and crossing paths was a lot easier than it would have been four years ago. But there was something about Thomas’s innate need to stand at the sidelines, avoid responsibilities he can’t handle, and be a quiet follower rather than an active one, that has kept him from appearing too often before the woman. Maybe it can even be seen now, as he stops at her side, expression guarded safe for the small smile ghosting the corner of his lips. “I doubt I startled you, but apologies if I did. Is this a bad time?”
“Thomas, you should know by now that even in the worst time imaginable I still have time.” Astra was kind to her people but that was not to be mistaken for being soft. She was a lieutenant in the special forces before everything went to shit and she knows what it means to fight for freedom when the time came she could make even the toughest of decisions. “Whats on your mind?”
#c:msplacedsrvor#hiya nice to meet you too I'm open for plotting so if you have anything in mind let me know or I am happy to brainstorm

the ex military owed a lot to the woman who took her in . lost & on her last leg , she was offered sanctuary ; & here she’d stayed ever since . risking life & limb every time for the people of serotonin , repay kindness with kindness , but more so astra . the bottle of old whiskey hit against the chain hanging from her jean pockets , boots crunching under her . she stopped feet from the leader , raising alcohol as a sign of peace . ❛ want some booze with that view ? ❜
“You know me too well.” She said with a smirk. In all honesty Astra saw so much of her younger self in Pandora they were both from a military background and that was something that Astra had always admired the people who not only put their lives on the frontline now after all that had happened but those who fought for a better world when there was so much that was taken for granted. “So how’s the hunt?”

“I’m not saying food and water isn’t important,” Jenny began, palms raised defensively as her lips stretched into a smile. “No, no, I’m not saying that. I’m not. I just think if we don’t have a boost in morale every once in a while, what’s the point of surviving. And if that boost should come in the form of, I don’t know, new clothes or, well, really anything that isn’t automatically syphoned off for rationing and immediately consumed…” she trailed off with an easy shrug. “I’d be okay with that.”
Astra smiled, although Jenny was from a smaller camp, they usually camp to Serotonin to trade. “I might have what you’re looking for how are you with a needle and thread?”

Sometimes to clear her head Astra took a walk outside the limits of the camp it was also a good opportunity to scout for more survivors every since her army days she had a bit of a hero complex, always had to make sure no one was hurting or hungry one of the main reasons she established the camp. Most places around here had been abandoned long ago and there was little to no resources left which is why even the faintest sound coming from a nearby shed made her ears prick up. It was either an infected or someone who may be in need of assistance or at the very least resources. Breaking through a window wasn’t her ideal entrance but with the door barricaded it seemed to be the only point of entry. As she climbed through the window she could here the sound of a gun cock and a voice. Astra placed her hands up “I’m not here to hurt you, I’m here to help.” Astra was no stranger to a gun being pointed towards her head, both her life before the world went to shit and after, she knew her reflexes were quick enough to react incase of hostility.
𝐋𝐎𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 . abandoned shed 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 . end of the day / early morning
there was a loud noise in the shed , the shattering of glass ripping her out of her restless sleep . italia’d thought she’d be relatively safe for the night where she was , the door barricaded , the only way in being the WINDOW she’d climbed through . gun was already ready to fire , the barrel armed and pointed at her guest’s head . ❛ take one more step , and i’ll be feeding your corpse to the dead . ❜

“I’d prefer it if you didn’t follow me..” Connor spoke, his voice heading a warning as he traveled through the woods, his intentions to make it over to a spot he was hoping held resources, a good hour and a half walk from his site. He had been walking about forty minutes when he felt someone behind him, he was certain he’d walked away from the camps but he was starting to think he planned his route a bit wrong.
Astra let out a small laugh, it took a lot more than words to deter her now, especially after all she had been through, all she had witnessed. Astra had been walking a trail close to her camp, sometimes even leaders needed to venture beyond the boundaries of the camp. “You know if it’s food & water your after, you won’t find any here, most places around here dried up months ago.”

‘Our home was destroyed. We have no place to go.’ This was a phrase that Astra had heard all to often and standing there looking out over the camp she could still remember the day that her party had stumbled upon the camp, she had finally found a safe place and would do whatever it took to ensure that people looking to survive would always have a place they could call home. Astra was pulled back to reality by the sound of footsteps behind her, after living in an post-apocalyptic state for 4 years you would be amazed and how your senses can change.
