Annabeth

a/n: I had very little material for annabeth so this is a chapter with annabeth and piper. some homo pining from both but Annabeth is in DEEP denial. This is filler and quite short. Also I am SO sorry I havent posted in like 5 years

Annabeth was feeling weird. After her meeting with Piper, she felt like her life had changed. For the better of course, but it was strange. She wanted to go to LA more than ever now. Could it be? No. It’s not, how could it?

She shook off the thought and went back to her studying. The entrance exam for the school was hard so she would have to study a lot, even if she was already smart. Ping! Annabeth sighed and checked her phone.

‘Hey Owlhead. I heard you had a date with Piper? How did that go?’ from Leo. She turned red.

‘Oh shut up! It wasn’t a date, I’m straight as a ruler?’ She answered.

‘Sure Owlhead. If the ruler is one of those flexible ones.’ Leo answered.

‘I am straight. Piper is just a friend.’ Annabeth was as red as a tomato now. Piper was just a really good friend, she was so pretty and smart and she was amazing at drawing, her hair looked amazing and she dresses so perfectly.

‘I can feel you stewing in gay denial’ Leo replied

‘Oh go away’ Annabeth turned off her phone and went back to studying.

Over the next few days she couldn’t get Piper out of her mind. Anytime she got coffee, she remembered Piper’s order at their coffee place. A mocha with hazelnut syrup and whipped cream. The first time she tried it, it was really good, and it reminded her of the best day she has had in a while. Annabeth didn’t have many close friends, but at camp it’s not like she is lonely. Thankfully, Chiron lets her leave to go school hunting so she isn’t cooped up like she was before.

Piper

Piper was in love. She knew it. She had done a bit of introspection and yep! All signs pointed to her being in love. And it was with none other than Annabeth Chase.

She had all the signs, the butterflies in her stomach when she thought of Annabeth. The excitement she felt when thinking about meeting up again. The sped up heartbeat when she thought about Annabeth. It just felt amazing. Her long blonde hair, her piercing gray eyes, her clothes and how immaculate they were. She laid down on her bed and she considered texting Annabeth.

Nah. It’s fine. She’ll text her later. She got ready for bed and went to sleep. She had a tiring day of school ahead of her.

a/n- this one is pretty long and dialogue heavy but I need to flesh out annabeth and piper’s dynamic. Also I need help. Cuz I don’t wanna use friends to lovers two times so what trope should I use for Pipabeth help

Piper

Piper was guilty as heck. Her being the daughter of the goddess of love should’ve made her good at breakups. But she messed it up. Not wanting to use charmspeak on Jason, she winged it and didn’t even get to tell him the most important part. Piper checked her phone again, before getting out of bed and making breakfast.

She had sent a few texts to Jason apologising but she hadn’t gotten a word back. She had also sent a few texts to Leo, he hadn’t answered too.

Sitting down with the fried egg she made, she texted the only person that could make her feel better right now.

‘Hey Annabeth! Wanna meet up? Grab coffee maybe?’

A few minutes passed by and Piper’s phone buzzed.

‘Hey Piper! Yeah, I’m up for it. Where should we meet though. I’m checking out a new school in LA btw’

‘Good! I live there lol. I have a really nice coffee shop I like thats close too. The address is *********.’

‘K, that’s gonna take me like 30 mins to get there. I’ll leave now. See u there?’

‘Yea! I’ll be there’

Piper smiled. She needed someone to talk to about the breakup, and who better than Annabeth? She was one of Piper’s best friends and a person that Piper had gone through a lot with. Putting that aside, she put on a pair of baggy jeans, a white shirt and a dark green jumper she had decorated with lots of different patches.

She left the house and in her excitement, didn’t notice a text from Leo: ‘Hey Beauty Queen. Dw, everything’s ok, Jason’s w me and he’s safe. Calm down lol’

~~time skip~~

Piper arrived at the cafe and Annabeth was already sitting at a table in the corner. The blonde waved to Piper.

“Hey Piper! I haven’t seen you in a little while”

“Same! How has life been?”

“Eh, it’s kinda boring. Ever since the Giant War I’ve just been at camp and school. It’s dull” Annabeth said dejectedly, swirling her coffee.

“Damn. I mean I had a wild day yesterday”

“What happened?”

“For one, I broke up with Jason”

“What? Why? What did he do?” Piper noticed Annabeth said that last sentence as if she was going to make Jason pay for what he ‘did’.

“He didn’t do anything, don’t worry. It’s me. I’ve had a hard time trying to say this, and I didn’t even tell him yesterday but I don’t think I like guys at all”

“Oh. Well congratulations. One for figuring it out and two for being brave enough to tell someone”

“Thanks. Only you and Leo know. I know I need to tell Jason but I’m scared.”

“Hey” At this Annabeth took Piper’s hands in hers. Piper blushed. “You have done harder things than coming out to your best friend. He cares for you, that will never change.”

“Yeah, thanks” Piper said, still blushing.

“I’ve finished my coffee, wanna pay and leave”To Piper’s relief, Annabeth changed the topic.

“Yeah sure. I’ll pay.” Piper said and took out her card.

“Nu-uh. I’m paying.” Annabeth took her card out too and pushed Piper’s away.

“No.” said Piper simply. She called over a waiter who took her card and scanned it.

“I will get you back” Annabeth joked and stood up. Piper stood up after her and they left.

“Anything else new in your life? Maybe something positive?” Annabeth chuckled.

“Yeah actually” Piper said. “I’ve been learning how to draw.”

“Really? Can you show me some drawings?” Annabeth said inquisitively.

“Oh… sure.” Piper took out a small book filled with sketches of houses and people and furniture.

“Whoah!” Annabeth exclaimed, startling Piper. “These are amazing. The only sketches I can do are ones for blueprints and stuff.” Annabeth then started looking through all the sketches. “I can’t believe how lifelike these look, these are amazing!” The blonde lifted her head up to find it was inches away from Piper’s. She pulled away quickly and turned red. “Sorry…”

“It’s fine” Piper felt herself blush too. “I didn’t think they were that good though”

“They’re amazing. Hey, do you mind sketching me?” The blonde had a hint of shyness in her voice.

“Sure! You’re just gonna have to sit relatively still for a few minutes” Piper said excitedly, opening up her notebook to a blank page.

Piper took out a pencil from her bag and began sketching.

After around 3 minutes, Piper sat up and put her pencil away. “Okay, I’m done! What do you think?” Piper showed Annabeth her sketch.

“It’s amazing! I look better here than I do in real life” Annabeth said, smiling.

“Come on, you look amazing in real life too.” Piper answered and Annabeth blushed, then her eyes widened. “Thanks. Wait, do you wanna get ice cream?”

“Yes”

“Alright, what flavour?”

“Choc chip”

“Same! Alright, I’ll go get it” Annabeth stood up and went towards the ice cream van. She bought the ice cream and returned.

“Wanna start going back?” Annabeth asked and handed one cone to Piper.

“Sure” Piper stood up and both walked back to the coffee shop.

“Okay, well this was so fun. We should do this again.” Piper said.

“Yeah, I’m probably going to move here for school. The one I visited was really good.”

“That’s amazing! Well then we should definitely see each other again” Piper said excitedly

“Yeah. Sun’s going down so we should go.”

“Yeah. I’ll text you”

“Not if I do it first!” Annabeth laughed and waved to Piper as she left.

Piper waved back and started moving back to her house.

~~another time skip~~

At her house, Piper was bored again. Annabeth had taken her mind off of her breakup. She sat on her balcony and checked her phone. She’d missed the text from Leo earlier so she answered: ‘Hey Leo, thanks for telling me. How is Jason taking the breakup? I handled it so badly I can’t’

‘Girl it’s not as bad as u think. He’s fine, he told me everything. U should talk to him tho.’

‘Bro ik. I wanna give him a bit of time alone from me.’

‘Sure, we’re alone in the countryside on Festus’

‘Ooohhh so romantic!’

‘Why does everyone say that?? I’m not in love with him’

‘Or are you??’

‘I’m not!’

‘Sure…’ with this, Piper was left on read. Annabeth was all Piper could think about after. She would soon live here and Piper saw a real future where they were really close friends, or maybe more.

Leo

Leo was tinkering with a new project of his, as usual, when his customised phone buzzed. ‘Hey, u up?’ from Jason. Leo picked up the phone and answered, ‘Yeah, why do u ask?’

‘Can I come over?’

‘Dude I live in a travelling dragon’

‘So…’

‘I’ll come over to you, where r u?’

‘Piper’s house’

‘Ok, coming!’

Leo put down the phone.

“Okay Festus, time to move. Destination: Piper’s house” Festus clinked and whirred in the language only Leo could understand.

Piper’s house. Coming up!

They flew off and soon landed in front of a very wet and sad Jason.

“Sparky! What’s wrong?” Leo said, concern sparking up in his voice.

“Hey Fireboy. I’ll explain later, can I get on?” Jason answered, looking up at Leo.

“Yeah! Sure. Get on. I’ll find us a nice spot to park”

“Thanks” Jason got on. It was slippery in the rain so he exclaimed “Whoah! This is really slippery. Do you mind if I hold on to you? Im not used to riding Festus”

At this Leo blushed. “Sure, whatever you say Sparky.”

Jason got on behind Leo and held his waist. “Is this comfortable for you? It’s just easier to hold on like this” he said nervously.

Leo’s face was as red as Festus’ eyes. He was so thankful Jason couldn’t see it. “Yep! Okay, taking off now” Leo said. Festus flapped his wings and took off.

The rain was pouring down. Leo wished he could shield Jason from the rain but it seemed like the blonde embraced the storm. They were nearing their destination when Leo said

“Okay Sparky, we’re coming up on where we need to be. You ready?” Leo started saying. He nudged Jason but he only felt a limp presence on his back. “Jason… Earth to Jason… did you really fall asleep?”

Leo then noticed Jason was still holding his waist and mumbled “Ugh, why do you have to be so cute”

Festus landed and Leo unlinked Jason’s arms from around the brunette’s waist and got off of Festus. He dragged Jason off while cursing to himself. He nearly dropped the blonde but Leo managed to hold him while Festus transformed into a camper van. Leo put Jason down on the bed.

“Oh hades, there’s only one bed, why did I build it this way?” Leo said to himself. Grumbling, he got a pillow and a blanket from the bed and laid down on the floor. Then, Festus started to clink.

So, what’s the deal with blondie over there?

“I don’t know. He asked me to come get him, he said he would tell me why later.”

Do you think Piper broke up with him

“Maybe, she did come out to me not that long ago. She asked me to keep it from Jason though. She wanted to tell him herself. Ugh, I wish I could just tell him, but I wanna be a good friend to Piper.”

Thats hard buddy. At least you have another gay friend.

“Yeah, and Jason…”

Oooh. Your crush?

“Shut up. And he’s not my crush. I just think he is really cool and nice and his hair is pretty and-“

Okay loverboy, we know, you are ENAMOURED with him.

“Alright, good night Festus.”

Fine. He’s still your crush though.

With this Leo sighed and went to sleep.

A/N: Hey chat! I hoped you like this part lol. Firstly, I always had a headcannon that Festus has a personality, and Leo made him like that to be able to talk to. Also, Leo didn’t go on the trip with calypso. Instead, he is travelling around the country with Festus. He came back to CHB a month after he sacrificed himself to defeat Gaea and he has been travelling ever since.

‘Hey, can we talk?’ from Piper. Jason picked up the phone and texted back. ‘Sure, I’ll come over’ and he left for Piper’s house. This wasn’t usual. Something was up.

He arrived at Piper’s house and rung the doorbell. Piper opened the door, her expression unreadable.

“Hey Jason. Come in” she gestured for him to follow her. They sat down at a table with snacks.

“Look. I know our relationship has been doing well but”“Are you breaking up with me?” Jason asked solemnly. His face not betraying any emotion. “How did you know?” Piper whispered.

“‘We need to talk’ is the most cliche breakup like ever.” He paused. “Why?” This time, his face turned into one of hurt.

“Look, I’m sorry. It’s just. It all felt like a set up by Hera. With my memories muddled I soon realised the love I felt for you wasn’t real and that it was so surface level”

“I might have not known or loved you at first I soon grew to actually love you. If you started to realise you don’t love me why didn’t you tell me. We could’ve worked it out. You yourself said that our relationship has been doing well.” Jason was barely holding back tears. He couldn’t understand what went wrong.

“Look, I’m sorry, I just want both of us to find people who actually love us.” Tears now formed in Piper’s eyes.

“You found that person. I haven’t. I guess the rebellious daughter of Aphrodite broke a heart after all.” Jason stood up and walked to the door.

“Jason-“ Piper grabbed his hand.

“Goodbye Piper” Jason snatched his hand away and left.

The door slammed shut and Jason broke down. His tears hit the ground accompanying the rain. He didn’t know what to do. He lost one of his best friends after his memory was wiped, thankfully, he got those memories back. Putting that aside, he opened up his phone.

‘Hey, u up?’ to: Leo.
