“It was good.” Gale nods at her, feeling as though is brain melted and is putting itself back together. He’ll need sleep soon enough, he realizes. But for right this second, he continues talking with her.
“Aw, what happened? How could it be worse?” The ending had been sad, a little sadder than he usually goes for, and he’s not sure if he’d want to pick up the manga knowing there was a sadder outcome. Therefore, knowing the ending is okay because he’s probably not going to read it anyway.
Silent Hills || Open
13 hours holy shit. Lillian felt like her brain was fried, but in a good way.
She stared somewhat blankly at Gale and then smiled. “Yeah, but it was good right~?” She asked, perking back up and rubbing her tired eyes. “I’m still a little not okay with the ending, but honestly its better than what happened in the manga. Poor Ahiru REALLY got screwed over in that one…”

Gale has all his stuff, and is about to leave, but something about Mr. Fischer seems off. Like the encounter is off for him as well. It’s....
Kinda sad.
Gale doesn’t want to feel pity for Mr. Fischer. For one, pity is one of those emotions that feel weird to have, and no one likes being pitied, anyway. Mr. Fischer certainly seems like the kind of guy that doesn’t like being pity.
“Thank you. I’ll keep that in mind.”
Gale walks to the door, one hand on his supplies and the other on the knob. “Mr. Fischer? I meant it. Thank you.” He tries to offer a smile.
“A dose of reality never hurt.” With that said, he left.
Career Advice || Gale and Marlin
It’s not surprising that Marlin’s aggravated yet another student, that he’s probably done nothing to help them, and he feels the momentary sting of frustration. He attempted honesty rather than building up the idea of teaching to sound like some great illustrious beautiful service, and, in some dark twisted sort of humor, he’s left feeling like he failed Gale instead.
But he did try. He tried, and he was honest, and that is the best that he can do.
Marlin considers Gale for a long moment, trying to think of something kinder to say, something that will let Gale leave the room looking less like he just saw a chipmunk be eaten by a hawk. Nothing comes to him. He did what he was supposed to, and neither kindness nor gentleness come easily to Marlin. He dips his head in a nod. “My door is always open,” he says, and it feels pathetic, but it’s still genuine. He picks up his pen and looks back down at his grading with a heavy swallow. “Enjoy your afternoon.”

“Oh, fun.” He’s not too sure what he’s expecting, really. Lillian’s mentioned a duck and a tsundere. Will the tsundere be rude to the duck? For enough to fill two entire seasons of episodes? As odd as anime can get, that’s probably not what’s going to happen.
Gale watches it, trying to stop focusing on his thoughts.
When it finishes, about 13 hours later, he has to stretch to fix his sore bones and discreetly wipe away any traces of emotions. “That wasn’t what I was expecting.”

“If you say so.” Gale shrugs, just the slightest bit of fear settling in. The girl before him is not someone he should take lightly. Especially since she seems so nonchalant about the whole thing. Like everyone bows to her will, whether by choice or by force.
It’s vaguely funny, then, that she was the one who followed his will. She’s not likely to find it as amusing as he does, so he keeps it to himself, tucking away the thought for now..
His feelings of amusement and fear turns to that of shame for having been caught. He does enjoy the show, finished the entire season within 3 days, but he didn’t mean to share that information. It was his little secret. Ah, well, he supposes the cat’s out of the bag. Shrugging, he tries to play it off. “I like practicing my French.”

Gale smiles slightly at her continued disgust for the leash and then at the suggestion that they would be taking a taxi. She’s from an upper-class family, that much has been continually obvious, but he has the feeling she doesn’t realize he’s from the same.
Ah, well. At least he has a name. Bianca de Sainte-Coquille. The last name doesn’t even sound remotely familiar to him, but he would forget his parents’ names if they weren’t related to him.
She announces that a limo’s coming for them, and he almost laughs. But he holds it in, and instead looks at her. For someone as small as she is, she sure seems like she’s big. Maybe it’s because she doesn’t seem like someone who takes things as they are.
“Does the limo let cats in?” Here’s to hoping that they did. No need for a fight right now with a staff member, and he’s sure that that’s what it would devolve into if there was even a slight disagreement.
Then she’s asking about Chaton’s name, and he blinks at her. Once. Twice. Three times. Best be honest. “Have you heard about Miraculous Ladybug?”

Gale finds that he likes the warmth from Lillian laying on him, her voice mixing in with the show.  It’s endearing, in all honestly. “I am trusting you.” The worst that can really happen is that he hates the anime with a burning passion, but he has the feeling he won’t.
At her question, he stills for a second to think. “Depends. Some can be cuter than others.”
Silent Hills || Open
“Yep!” Lillian giggles at his question. “The duck is really cute. Trust me. It’s a really good anime.” Smiling, she found herself resting her head on his shoulder as they watched the opening to Princess tutu. Her soft voice humming along with the melody. Seems she was already incredibly comfortable. Rip Gale.
“Oh, by the way, do you like Tsundere characters?”

“I don’t think our ‘chat’ helped, actually.” Gale is almost one hundred percent certain the chat hadn’t helped. He’s more sure of that than he’s sure Lukas is confessing that he’s not heterosexual, so that’s one thing.
As Lukas is continuing, Gale’s thoughts only get proved more and more. Though, to be fair, Kai is nicely toned. It doesn’t take a non-straight person to see that. But it does raise a question Gale has been thinking:
Are there any straight people at this school?
It’s an important question, though not as important as the realization that Kai had asked Lukas to touch him. Kai has probably been touched by a guy before, so Lukas probably means sexually. Which means Lukas and Kai probably enough for it to get awkward.
That’s a weird train of thought that Gale is shutting down now. He’s going to push that away and answer Lukas like a regular human being that didn’t just explicitly imagine what happened between the two.
“He does have nice muscles.” This is why his number of friends is limited. He feels his skin heat up. “I mean, yes, it does line up.”
Two of Clubs || Lukas & Gale
“Nothing like that, I’m not that bad! … Although maybe it would have helped…” Lukas hadn’t really considered it, but having Kai talk to someone that wasn’t him about his thoughts and questioning sexuality might have helped a lot more than what he had actually done. Then again, he was assuming what the problem was. He ought to get a real answer from the guy.
“The only problem I know Kai has is about his questionable heterosexuality,” Lukas laughed, adding humorously, “because the problem sure isn’t about his well-toned muscles or work-outs.”
The laughter died down slowly as the blonde considered the seriousness of the situation he had gotten himself into. He had really nice, muscles though. Wait, stop Lukas. That’s gay. That’s a part of the problem, not the solution. “Well, it wasn’t too terrible. I was joking with him before class and… I guess I messed with him too much. He wanted me to touch him, like it would prove a point or something.”
“I pushed him too far, maybe? Things got a little awkward afterward, although I told him my opinion on the situation pretty starkly.” Lukas grinned, although the situation was a bit more serious than he was letting on. He loved when a good side-story coincidentally ran parallel to someone else’s experience. Especially when they could gossip about it. “Anyway, I didn’t really help much. Think that lines up any?”

Gale nods at Mr. Fischer’s points, taking in the advice. Then, by accident and not at all by him trying to escape this conversation, his eyes land on the clock in the room. He’s taken up a good portion of the lunch period talking with Mr. Fischer, and he probably should let the poor man go.
He’s not running away.
Gale sighs quietly; he’s not running away. Mr. Fischer’s tone was more gentle at the end, and he did raise good points. Gale would need some more experience before he could truly make a decision on his future. Maybe he could watch what his teachers do, see if it’s something he’s interested in. See how they interact with the students and stuff like that.
“I guess that’s it, then.” Standing, he grabs his stuff and hovers uncomfortably by the desk. “You can go back to your break.” That sounds stiff, and vaguely ungrateful. “Thank you for the advice.”
Career Advice || Gale and Marlin
When Gale mentions that someone can fail at any job Marlin tips his head forward in acknowledgement. “You can,” he says. “But it’s often not forced on you.”
It’s something, he supposes, that someone won’t understand until they’re actually in the thick of it. The educational system is disturbingly constructed. It’s poorly structured, it relies on the idea that all students learn at the same pace, and it forces the students the overwork themselves constantly for something that they won’t even remember in a year. It’s tiresome. But that doesn’t mean that Marlin doesn’t want to work to change it in what little way he can, to actually see his students thrive.
Gale suddenly asserts that some students think he’s doing well, and Marlin quiets for a moment, tenting his hands in front of his mouth as he considers this. When he speaks again his tone is softer, less aggressive. “Having a few students think you’re all right isn’t what the job is about,” Marlin says. “If only a few students get something out of your work, then you have failed. And sometimes it happens.” He looks up at Gale. “All I’m saying to you is that it’s not easy. It’s emotionally taxing. It’s draining when you realize that you yourself have affected a student negatively, that you’ve done something to set their future back.” He pauses. “But it’s not all bad. And if you’re willing to face the negative, then yes, I daresay you might enjoy it.”

“We can use my laptop.” Would that be too small for two people? It shouldn’t be, since he can comfortably watch it on his own. Not like when he tries to use his phone.
They get themselves set up soon enough and are laying down on his bed, the light from his laptop illuminating both their faces. “This is about a duck.” Gale means it as a question, though it falls as just a statement. “A duck?”
Silent Hills || Open
Following him to his dorm room, she smirked and chuckled. “Well, true. Probably between episodes if anything. But just for food and bathroom breaks~” And sleep. But of course, sleep was for the weak.
“So are we going to be watching on a laptop or do you have it hooked up to the TV in the living room?” it was a very important question after all. “Or I could probably go check my dorm real fast and see if I have the DVDs.”

Gale’s breathes out a murmured ‘oh’ at her sharing where she rooms, slightly surprised that they seem to overlap in several places but have only started talking now. Then he thinks about how many of his friendships started with him taking the initiative, and is no longer surprised.
“I’ll keep that in mind, thank you.” He wishes he could return the favor, but something about Jamie is off-putting. Gale’d like to remain on his good side. Or whatever part of his good side he’s on after the cupcake fiasco.
When they reach the dorm, walking without speaking for the most part, it’s Lillian who breaks the silence. Is he ready for a long anime? Yes. Is he ready for a long anime in the company of someone he tripped over not even an hour ago? Only time would tell.
He hums his assent. “We can take breaks if necessary.”
Silent Hills || Open
“Oh wow! I live in C4 in the unisex dorms.” Her smile brightened, “Looks like we’ll be seeing a lot of each other then~ You’re welcome to come over for anime anytime if you’d like. My door’s always open.” It felt nice to have another anime friend, she’d definitely show him all of her dvds and maybe a few games and books.
Stepping into line along with Gale, she found that it didn’t take too long to get to the dorms, even though they were silent when walking for the most part. At least it wasn’t awkward.
She turned to him with a smile. “Princess Tutu’s pretty long, you ready for an experience?”

Gale smirks, the pursed lips kind. “Never.” Her laugh seems like her, at least. Fitting.
“C1, in the Unisex dorms.” Gale sweeps one of his arms in the direction of the dorms, indicating which way to go. He waits until she goes to walk, as well, walking to her side and one step behind.
It is a bit weird that he invited her over without really knowing her, but another friend is more than welcome. Especially one that shares his interests.
Silent Hills || Open
Lillian blinked and then laughed at Gale’s question. “Well, I’ve never exactly seen a duck before in real life! Have you?” She joked. He was cute. That joke was cute.
“Now?” that surprised her. “Uh…hmm..” She pulled out her phone and checked the time. “Well, I don’t have anything else to do for the rest of the day, so…Sure! why not!” She smiled at him, accepting his offer. “What dorm do you live in?”

Gale listens to her giving a vague description of the anime, nodding along. He’s about to respond, but then she offers for them to watch it together. That sounds like fun, and he isn’t working today, anyway. He’s about to ask if she’d like to watch it now, but then she adds on that last line.
“Are you saying ducks don’t exist?” He cocks his head to the side like he’s genuinely confused. Which, he kind of is. Gale’s almost ninety-seven percent sure ducks exist. “I’d love to watch it with you.” He smiles. “Fake ducks and all.” He stretches, feeling particularly verbose today. “Want to watch it now? In my dorm?”
Silent Hills || Open
“What’s Princess Tutu about?” Lillian hummed in thought as she tried to think of a good way to explain it without spoiling anything. “Well…”
“Princess Tutu is about a duck.” She said simply, with an affirmative nod. “It’s about ducks, ballet, fairy tales, and dealing with tragic endings to the story.” That was a good enough explanation. Lillian smiled at Gale, “You’re welcome to watch it with me some time, I’m always up for watching it again. It’s nice even though nothing in the anime is real.”

Gale hasn’t actually watched Sailor Moon, in any of its versions, but he’s heard it. After all, it’s a pretty large anime series. But he hasn’t heard of Princess Tutu and makes a mental note to look it up. Although, he could just ask her.
Ask Lillian, that is. He doubts he can ask an anime character anything and expect an actual answer just yet. Someday, maybe, the technology will be there, but not today.
“What’s it about?”
Silent Hills || Open
Lillian looked down, silent and in thought for a moment. What were parents even supposed to be? In books they were either really nice, overbearing, or abusive. What were her’s?
At the question about favorite magical girl animes, Lillian found herself thinking harder. “Hmm… I think I really liked Sailor Moon, but also Princess Tutu. Princess Tutu just makes me really happy for some reason, you know?” She smiled at him, a gentle and warm smile, not really cheery but not really sad either. It was nice.

“I don’t know.” Gale answers honestly, without thinking. Then, as he realizes what he’s said, he backtracks. “But, from what I’ve read, no.” He knows mothers are supposed to be there for their kids, but he also knows that he never really got that from either of his parents. So who knows how it works in reality for other people?
But he doesn’t want the girl thinking his parents aren’t in the picture, or worse- abusive.
To be fair, though, she seems like it’s a question for her, too. An unanswerable question.
Her next question is much more manageable. “I like the... shoujo genre in general.” Romance is romance, no matter what format it’s in. “What’s your favorite Magical Girl anime?”
Silent Hills || Open
Lillian whistled, impressed by the list of characters. “Akito was weird for me at first, but i kinda warmed up to them I think…Their mom though…” She frowned and crossed her arms. “She was mean, yeah. Moms…they’re not supposed to be like that, right?” She asked, wondering.
“But um,” She tapped her lips with her index finger thoughtfully. “Are there any other manga or anime that you like? I really like Magical Girl anime and things with lots of fantasy stuff. But the slice of life ones are good too.”
