one of my favorite things about markus’s story is his quiet moments of solemn consideration. moments like him sitting in silence when kara finds him in crossroads, or him sitting in silence in the church after jericho was raided, are such excellent bits of characterization because he’s not speaking or moving or doing any sort of grand gesture but you can just sense the storm brewing in his mind as he decides how to proceed for his people. these moments where he isn’t interacting with anyone but just battling internally with himself really conveys how having the entire weight of the world on his shoulders, having the fate of his people in the palm of his hand affects him. it just characterizes him so well as someone who finds stability in silence. markus you will always be loved by me
