(Long post under cut) I miss the old yharon who was unabashedly evil

and was a complete tyrant with an iron Fist who never regretted a thing he did and was just an asshole, like I get in the age of dragons update or whatever it's called they made his intentions heroic (avenge the dragons), but it feels kinda ooc when he actually does terrible shit, he doesn't sound like "tyrant of the jungle" to me anymore, he just sounds like a sad old regretful loser! Meanwhile old yharim was evil and LOVING IT. He did shitty things because someone slightly pissed him off! He didn't give a FUCK and was like "yeah I murdered your entire family lmao cry about it" like I get 3 dimensional tragic villains and stuff but I honestly feel like it wouldve been better if yharim stayed more simple :|

Hi local resident Astrum Deus stan here with my Thoughts and headcanon about the new Astral Infection lore because if I don’t shout to the void about this, I will explode.

Overall such a huge fan of AD as cosmic detritivore that is such a vibe though I have some thoughts about the mechanics of the new Astral Infection, specifically as it relates to that whole “sapient beings can resist the Infection’s call” thing. Essentially I like to interpret it that the mind warping influence of the Infection can’t dominate living people, but the Infection can still very much make a person sick and then integrate their bodies from there. Sapient beings being completely immune to the effects just makes it way less spooky.

As for how AD came to be Infected despite them existing to filter the Astral Infection. I think that someone (Yharim) severely weakened/killed them, which allowed the Infection to take hold. That’s how I interpret the last line of AD’s lore item anyway.

Anywho, there’s my rambles. Feel free to ask questions I have so so many thoughts. Right now tho I’m gonna sleep since it is way too late.
