A video of a hilarious, but also alarming coyote encounter in Toronto is making the rounds on social media this week, depicting one of the wild canines enjoying a Tim Hortons Iced Capp after allegedly snatching it from the hands of the person filming.
The clip starts with shots of the creature from an uncomfortably close distance at the western edge of Downsview Park along Keele Street.
As the animal lopes past, it seems to become interested in the filmer, changing direction and heading towards them as they yell "hey" in response.
Though the camera pans off the subjects and completely misses the interaction, the pedestrian can be heard again repeating "hey" and "get back here" before righting the shot to show the coyote once more.
"This motherf***er just stole my Iced Capp!" the man then exclaims. [...]

That doesn't always mean there's no way to find them, if there's a disc number, at least. The government might not be releasing that information but there's still resources like this database: http://lesk.comminfo.rutgers.edu/imap.html
And if online databases aren't helping, disc numbers are divided by region (Ie. if the number starts with E6 then the artist was from Pangnirtung or Qikiqtarjuaq) so if you're really curious you can find out where it's from and ask a community Facebook group or something. Still sucks if there's no inscription at all, but if you're into researching that stuff there might be more to find than you think.

Unknown Inuit artist
Igloo Scene, c.1950
~
One of the most frustrating things about researching Inuit art was that in the beginning, people did not think of these sculptures as fine art, but crafts so nobody bothered to write any artist names down. Sometimes artists inscribed works with their disc numbers (numbers assigned to individual Inuit by the Canadian government in lieu of their names because white people found them too difficult to pronounce/write down). The database of these numbers are now classified because the government is embarrassed of how dehumanizing this was. This leaves it so that there is no way for scholars like me to find out who created beautiful sculptures like the one above.

Dealing with Dragons: Cimorene sketch ^_^
Been re-listening to Dealing with Dragons recently (anyone who knows me knows I will not shut up about how formative this series was for me re: many things but mostly dragons) and so I got the urge to draw Cimorene again (I sketched her like a year or so ago, but can't find it, so I thought a redesign with my new style was perfect!)
Also, my fav book reviewer (I have one of those now?? What??) Just covered the first book of the series, so if you want to check out a great reviewer AND my favorite book of all time, here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMaKkwHQQKM
Not me trying to speak into existence an Enchanted Forest Chronicles graphic novel series that I get to adapt, whatttt noooo... ^_-
