something i think is really significant about being chronically ill is how your window of tolerance dramatically shrinks, and is ultimately isolating. your relationships look different cause you don’t have the energy to tolerate any bs or poor communication, the way you interact with the world becomes shorter and sharper because you don’t have the energy, you need presence and straightforwardness and really anything else is a drain on what little you already have and putting your minimal energy into something means it needs to be worth that energy because you can’t afford anything else, often leaving you alone
