Becca pointed out to me that in an early episode of Gravity Falls, The Legend of the Gobblewonker, Stan has a licence plate with “Stanley Mobile” on it. (“STNLYMBL”)

Which is rather strange, considering Stan’s full name is Stanford.

I’ve seen theories, or perhaps just headcanons, floating around that Stan is a twin. Stan must have (or must have had) a sibling who is Dipper and Mabel’s grandmother or grandfather. Twins often run in the family, and “Stanley” and “Stanford” sounds like a cute pair of names for twin boys.

I don’t know if those idea are substantiated or not. I don’t know if the family will ever be touched on or if they’re significant at all, but it seems like a pretty weird error to make for the animator to confuse “Stanley” with “Stanford”

Its hard to like Epic when you feel that Jorge has so deep double standards

That’s very unfortunate. Especially bc one of the biggest impacts of Epic imo IS the conversation around Odysseus and Calypso. Bc as someone who has been a Greek Mythology fan for 3 decades now I can tell you no one really labeled what Calypso did to Odysseus as SA. It’s really only now with the popularity of Epic that people are actually calling it what it is. So it really would have been even more impactful if the creator was also on board.

Another point to the “we need neutral education around pregnancy, not fear mongering” is I just saw a TikTok where someone was joking about being asked if they were pregnant after their hysterectomy and people were in the comments spreading SO MUCH PANIC about abdominal pregnancies after a hysterectomy that the OP had to put a caption saying how astronomically rare that is and removing your uterus is, in fact, an extremely reliable way to prevent getting pregnant, believe it or not

By pretending every single method of birth control is unreliable all you’re doing is making people afraid to have sex, which pushes the puritanical “sex bad” mindset that I thought we all agreed was bad!! What are we doing guys!! Why are you scaring people out of getting hysterectomies!! I mean I think I know why but I’m mad about it
