hi there! i just saw a really cute video and it gave me such an adorable baby dew thought!
so he's pretty mobile now, right, and we know he can wiggle alright. we also know he loves when swiss is signing to him, his lil guitar and music in general, big or little
what if one time swiss is playing guitar and singing, something more upbeat, or maybe he threw on some vibey music to sing and dance to while cooking? baby dew is chilling on the floor with ella and a book, as usual. the music is there and he's not really acknowledging it but when swiss looks over at him---like he does ever few moments to check if everything's alright---he sees dew wiggling his little body
at first swiss thinks he's uncomfortable in his position or in his clothes but after a moment he realizes that dew is basically... dancing. little unconscious wiggles as he's busy with his book, but his sense of rhythm doesn't leave him when he's small. swiss melts on the spot, it's the cutest thing he's ever seen
when dew---still wiggling happily to the music---notices swiss looking at him with a huge grin on his face he's clueless as to what it's all about, but he giggles at him and gets back to his own devices. swiss may or may not have recorded his little baby dance to show the others hahshshs
So cute 🥺 just a quick little scribble to add onto this perfect idea

Swiss had had Dewdrop with him for most of the day. He started with Mountain and stayed with him until he was called off. Swiss had taken over after that.
It was nice, he was extra snuggly and while that usually meant he was getting sick, they all loved an extra cuddly little fire ghoul. He wasn't fussing so he was clearly still feeling fine so Swiss allowed himself to enjoy it.
They are on Swiss' bed, relaxing with quiet music in the background until he has to get dinner started. Dew's little fingers play with the clasps in his hair. He likes the newest addition most, a little seashell Phantom had found.
"Sea!"
"Seashell. Concha." He smiles.
"Pitty..." He turns it around in his fingers.
"It's very pretty, you're right."
Dew tugs at his own hair and Swiss laughs, quickly weaving a little braid and grabbing one of the smaller beads from his bedside drawer that he doesn't tend to use all that often.
"How's that?"
"Pitty!"
"Beautiful." He taps the end of his nose. "Ok, we gotta get dinner started or we are going to have a lot of grumpy bellies."
He carries Dew down with Ella gripped in his hands, he gets him settled in the comfy corner of the kitchen where he is safely away from anything possibly splashing or spilling but still see Swiss the entire time. He gives him a few books and a couple other toys and flicks on the music.
The music is upbeat and bright and Swiss dances around while he grabs everything he needs, singing along when the song changes to one he recognizes.
He glances over at Dew periodically, smiling as he watches him look through his books, naming things and squeezing Ella. He pauses to get him a snack and his bottle when he hears his tummy growl.
Dew shoves a berry in his mouth immediately. "Gra...mmm.." He blinks at Swiss, cocking his head while he works through the word. "G-Gracias!"
"Very good! De nada, luciérnaga." (You're welcome, firefly)
He goes back to cooking, singing along loudly, smiling when Dew giggles or claps. It's moments like this that are his favorite. They are all special to him, they all have their own piece of his heart, but there is something about Dew that's just a little different and he knows he's not the only one to feel that way. But he loves this, sharing their love for music no matter how big or small he is.
Swiss focuses on getting the sauce just right, distracted for a few minutes as he tastes it and adds random dashes of spices until it's exactly as it should be. He see moving from his peripheral and turns toward it.
At first he thinks Dew needs to be changed, he wiggles around, squirming where he sits on the floor. Swiss thinks he's uncomfy and quickly washes his hands so he can go take care of him. But the longer he watches, he realizes that he's moving to the rhythm of the song, his rumbly purr breaking through the voices on the radio, ears twitching as he listens to the music.
Hes dancing...
Swiss watches him wiggle, his eyes bright as he plays with his toys. It's clearly an unconscious action, just feeling the music and moving with it but Swiss thinks he might just melt into a puddle right there in the kitchen.
He pulls his phone out, catching him on video for everyone else. Dew lifts his head, feeling Swiss' eyes on him. He smiles at Swiss, still wiggling slowly.
"You're the cutest thing ever, do you know that?"
Dew giggles. "Me!"
"Yes you." He picks him up and dances around the kitchen with him, singing and kissing his little warm cheeks, Dew happily squealing as they move.
Mountain pauses in the den on his way to change from his dirty clothes, his heart warm when he hears Swiss singing and Dew's loud belly laughs.

Dew shakes his head with a small smile as he watches them. It had been raining for days and Rain had been in too much pain to go out and enjoy it but today he finally felt up to it.
Swiss had been in his room reading, dropped and enjoying some alone time when he'd heard Rain's excited giggling and peeked out to see what was going on. When Rain told him he was going outside to play in the rain, Swiss had almost shyly asked Dew if it would be ok if he came too.
Rain cheered and Dew had pulled him into a hug. "Siempre serás bienvenido, chispa." (You're always welcome, spark.)
Rain had grabbed Swiss' hand and Dew followed behind the excited little ghouls. He smiled when Swiss paused to pull up the hood of Rain's jacket for him, taking care of him even though he was dropped too. His caring nature was always present.
Rain can hardly stand still long enough for them to get their shoes on, buzzing with excitement about getting to go play in his element, especially excited because Swiss was coming along too.
Dew stays on the covered porch with a towel and a blanket to bundle the little water ghoul up once he's done playing. He laughs to himself when Rain races off the porch and immediately finds a huge puddle to jump into. He giggles and hops, the little laughs turning louder when Swiss jumps in it beside him, the water splashing up further on him.
Rain tips his head back, letting the raindrops splash against his cheeks, a content smile as he basks in his element. Dew smiles everytime the little ghoul glances back as if checking to be sure he's still there.
Swiss keeps him laughing, running around, taking his hands and spinning until they are both dizzy from it, ending up laying on their backs giggling as the rain continues to fall on them.
Dew hated when Rain hurt, when he sat staring sadly out the window wanting to play but unable to. He couldn't stop smiling that morning when Rain felt well enough to jump up by himself and get ready for breakfast. If he could take the pain he would do it in a heartbeat.
He doesn't rush them, he lets them run and laugh and splash as long as they want, as long as Rain needs. He's glad Swiss came, happy to watch him playing and smiling, coming more into himself, willing to join in and not completely keep himself hidden away.
Eventually Rain gets cold and races up to Dew, getting wrapped in the towel and blanket and held on Dew's lap, pressing himself as close to his warmth as he can get. He purrs, completely content now that he got to be outside. Swiss sits beside Dew, close enough to press their shoulder together.
"Did you have fun?"
Rain nods with a sleepy smile, his head resting against Dew's shoulder.
"Spark?"
"Yeah, it was nice." His eyes are bright and Dew squeezes his hand.
"Papa? Can we stay out just a little longer...just to watch the rain?"
"Are you warm enough?"
"Yeah, m'toasty!"
Dew kisses the top of his head and drapes one of his arms around Swiss' shoulders, pulling him close even though he knows the chill won't bother the little multi ghoul, he wants him to remember he's welcome, that he's just as important as Rain is.
"As long as you want, petite mer." He smiles when Swiss nuzzles closer, his purr joining along with Rain's.

Hi Moon,
I send you a request a few months ago and I really tried to be patient because I know you have a lot of request. The request was about Dew on his way to the greenhouse and slipping, losing consciousness, it's snowing and he lays out there for some time. The others then finding him and it's all medical drama and he drops and needs a lot of comfort.
Now that I'm writing about it, it seems to be a little bit to heavy for this blog, so I would be totally okay with you posting it on your main blog.
I just hope that you writing that at all because I love your writing and it brings me so much comfort. Sorry this got so long👉🏻👈🏻
Your the best❤️
PS: if you allow me to have an identifier it would be that one 🎮
This one absolutely did not want to be written but I hope its ok 🩷
Cw: Dew hits his head on ice, memory issues, Dew being scared of the pack, very upset Rain, Omega has to be firm once, of course comfort! Mostly cg aether
Tumblr media
Dews boots skid as he makes his way down the hill to the greenhouse. Rain had forgotten his dinosaur and his legs were hurting so badly he'd dropped further than usual, crying and asking for Basil. Dew left him with Mountain and headed out into the cold.
He doesn't mind the cold, the fire in his veins keeping him warm and he's more than happy to do it if it'll bring Rain comfort. He thinks of his big, sad blue eyes looking at him, confessing he'd left Basil in the greenhouse. He was out the door the second the first tear fell down his little cheek.
He's not thinking about anything beyond getting back to Rain, of grabbing the dinosaur and getting back inside to comfort his little ghoul, to sit in front of the fire keeping him warm while Mountain reads out loud for him. Keeping him safe between his two favorite people.
Hes not watching his footing, he's not thinking about the ice, he's not worried about anything around him until he feels his feet slip out from beneath him and he's falling back so fast he doesn't have time to put his hands back to protect his head.
He knows he's going down hard, he knows he's going to smack his head on the ice, he knows he's alone...
Dews head hits the ground and everything goes dark.
~~
Rain flinches beside Mountain, his little hands gripping Mountain's arm. His heart races but he can't quite get the words off of his tongue, his brain is moving too quick and the panic rises in his chest.
"Rain-"
"Papa!" He manages between gasping breaths and Mountain pulls him close, trying to comfort the sudden panic.
Mountain's about to ask what's wrong but he hears Aether racing down the stairs, smells the distress in the air as he runs by the common room and straight out the door.
He rocks the little ghoul, smoothing his hair down and kissing the top of his head, promising him it's ok.
"Papa...."
He squeezes him closer, his own heart starting to race the more Rain panics.
~~~
Aether can't remember the last time he had run so fast. He doesn't even know where he's going, he just follows his magic, lets his bond with Dew guide him. His stomach rolls and his heart might just stop when he spots him on the ground, eyes closed and pale.
If it wasn't for his magic he would think the worst, but he can feel his heart beating as if it's his own. He hits his knees and checks for injury, his magic weaving around Dew's unconscious body and mind.
He's careful when he picks him up, making sure his head and neck don't move too much. He's quick but careful as he makes his way back to the Abbey, heading straight for the infirmary once he's inside.
"Omega!" He sets Dew on the bed, starting to remove his boots and snow damp clothes.
"Aether." He grabs his wrist gently, his magic dancing through his eyes. "Go grab a gown. I can't focus on him with your magic all frantic like this. Go take a breath."
"But-"
"I'm not asking."
Omega rarely uses that tone with Aether and it leaves no room for argument. He knows he needs to calm down, he knows it'll help nothing if he's panicked but the idea of leaving Dew...
"Aether."
"I'm going."
He takes another look at Dew before he pulls the curtains and wanders out into the hall to take a few breaths. He'll be ok, he has to be. Aether feels his hands shaking and his stomach knots, Dew's mind is already such a fragile thing, the thought of it getting jostled more and possibly cracking it makes his head spin.
By the time he feels calm enough to go back in and grab the gown, Dew has dropped completely and Omega has a pinch between his brows as he focuses.
Aether swallows hard, his arms aching to reach out and grab the baby, to comfort him even though he still lays unconscious.
"I can't find anything serious. Definitely hit his head pretty good but he seems ok."
Omega moves back and let's Aether get the tiny ghoul dressed, knowing he needs reassurance for himself that Dew really was ok.
His heart unclenches when Dew stirs, when his eyes finally flutter open. He's not fully prepared for him to flinch away from his touch, to pull his little limbs away, for his eyes to go black and the scent of fear to fill the air.
"It's ok baby it's just me-"
The baby flinches, turning his head away from Aether, panicked breaths making him wheeze.
"Dew..." He flinches again and Aether turns panicked eyes toward Omega. The older Quint is already moving, already letting his magic poke around to find what had gone wrong.
Aether jumps when he hears Rain's little voice quickly followed by Cumulus talking softly. Omega doesn't have time to say anything before the little ghoul is pulling the curtain open looking for his Papa.
The baby freezes, body locking up completely with more people closing in on him, his space being invaded by faces he can't quite place right now.
"What happened?" It's Cumulus that speaks, one hand on Rain's shoulder, the other on Mountain's back.
"He hit his head on the ice." Omega doesn't bother letting Aether answer, he's better under pressure anyway.
"Oh my poor baby." She moves to touch the back of his hand. "Mammas-"
He wails when he hears the word, screams as loud as his weak little lungs will allow and her face goes pale and Mountain looks ready to be sick on the floor and Aether can tell he's trying, fighting tooth and nail to not drop right now in front of Rain.
The little water ghoul presses his face against Mountain's side, crying and shaking.
"S'my fault!"
Omega growls. "Everyone out! I need to focus on him and I can't with everyone else's emotions clouding over his."
Rain cries harder and Mountain picks him up, cradling him up to his neck. He understands that Omega didn't mean to be harsh but Dew was his priority.
"Keep us posted."
Aether just nods, words not really wanting to come out, eyes still locked on Dew.
"I need to get in his head. I'll need you to keep everyone out of here so I can focus."
"No. No I'll do it." He shakes his head. "He doesn't like when anyone looks but-"
Omega nods. "You're sure? I can do it if it's going to be too much, la mia stella." (My star)
"Yeah, it's fine." Aether sits carefully beside Dew, biting back tears when the baby tenses when Aether's hand gets close to him. "Tá tú sábháilte..." (You're safe)
He slips into his mind, the fog of old memories is thick and he feels Omega rest a hand on his shoulder to keep him grounded, a light to find his way back. He hears the echoing screams he knows almost as well as Dew himself.
None of it is anything Aether hadn't seen before, he knows these memories he knows the shapes of the shadows and exactly who they are. What is surprising is when the memories from only moments ago play out, he can feel that Dew recognizes them, that he knows he knows who they are but their faces get mixed and jumbled with the others and he can't quite seperate them right now.
He can see himself, feel how Dew wants to reach for him but the image shifts and blurs and he's unsure if it really is Aether, if he's really safe.
It gives him at least a little bit of comfort that they aren't completely lost in his mind, that they are still there and that the fog is slowly starting to clear.
Aether pulls from his mind slowly and leans against Omega.
"He's ok, thoughts are just a little jumbled."
"Do you want to go talk to them or do you want me to?"
"You. Please." He pinches the bridge of his nose. "I just want to...I just want to stay with him."
Omega pulls him into a hug, squeezing him for a bit before he heads out to update Mountain and Cumulus. Aether doesn't let himself worry about what he's going to tell them, he turns all his focus on the baby.
He's still shaking, eyes still dark and Aether finds a spare soother and offers it to him. He smiles when he takes it, his chest feeling lighter.
"Ansin téann tú, tá sé sin níos fearr." (There you go, that's better)
He hums as he moves around the small space, checking over things out of habit and to keep his hands busy. He can feel Dews eyes on him but the color hasn't returned yet, just glassy little eyes following the shape of him moving around.
He sits in the rocking chair, mindlessly scrolling on his phone, keeping watch over the baby. He lets his magic sit around him, keeping the pain away, letting Dew feel it until he remembers that he knows it, that is always had been and always would be safe.
He's not sure how long he sits there but his eyes are tired and he tips his head back with a sigh. Omega had come in to tell him that everyone went home, that Rain had slipped way further than usual, blaming himself for Dew getting hurt. He checked over Dew one more time before wandering off so the tiny ghoul didn't feel crowded as his mind cleared.
Aether is just starting to doze when Dew shifts against the bed, whimpering, clearly uncomfortable.
He moves slowly closer to him, ready to move him to help settle him. He almost falls over when he sees his big orange eyes.
"Daidí..."
He thinks he could cry when he lifts him carefully, cradling him up against his chest. "Sea leanbh tá mé anseo." (Yeah baby I'm here)
Dew snuggles closer into Aether's chest, his tiny fingers tugging at the fabric of his shirt as he clings.
"Ow....daidí ow..."
"I know, I'm sorry you got hurt, firefly." He kisses his forehead. He pulls his phone out and texts Mountain, letting him know Dew is ok. He agrees when the giant asks if he can bring Rain for a few minutes.
He gets Dew wrapped up more comfortably in in a blanket and sits back in the chair with him, humming while he waits for them to get down to the infirmary.
Cumulus is the first in, eyes full of concern and hesitance. But Dew turns his head toward her and holds his arms out for her to take him from Aether. She scoops him up quickly, kissing the top of his head while he nuzzles close to her neck.
Mountain carries Rain in, the little ghoul clinging tight, a soother in his mouth and eyes puffy from crying.
"Mor!" Dew winces when his own voice is too loud, a pinch between his brows.
Aether watches the little water ghoul relax when Dew greets him, he watches Mountains eyes clear from the worry.
Rain turns his head and reaches out to touch Dew. The tiny ghoul let's him hold his hand, blinking slow and content in Lus' arms.
When Dew squirms and fusses, Lus hands him back to Aether gently before saying goodnight and taking their leave so Dew can rest.
"Aef..."
Aether lays on the bed with Dew tucked close beside him. He can't even begin to put into words how happy he is to hear his name, Dews sweet little voice asking for him when he was so terrified they would be lost to him.
"I've got you." He kisses the top of his head and watches Dew's eyes start to close, letting his magic run over and through him to keep watch over him during the night. "I'm not going anywhere."
i think tumblr should rename the reblog button to the boop button or have like a counter to show you how many posts you've reblogged and you get badges for hitting different milestones. maybe that would encourage people to use the website how its meant to be fucking used
My brains been a bit angsty and this is what happened when I decided to write something finally.
Aether left and Dew's not doing so well. Copia loves his ghoul.
He's rarely seen him since...well since the day they all refuse to talk about. He has caught glimpses of him, moving through the halls like a wraith. A hollow husk, a body with no soul shuffling along.
No one is sure if there is even a little smoldering ember left to breathe life into, to give breath until the fire catches and fills him up again. He's cold, distant, hidden under frozen earth with dark eyes and silent lips.
The room is dark and stale when he enters, the smell of something long forgotten left to fester, hidden like a wound infected and covered in hopes that time really does heal everything. He doesn't move, Copia can make out the shape of him beneath the blanket on the bed but he's still, graveyard still and he hates it.
He sits on the edge of the bed, let's his hand find any part of Dew to rest against. He sees a shirt beside the unmoving shape and he doesn't need to ask who it belongs to, he already knows Dew is clinging to a shadow, keeping the curtains drawn tight so the light can't take the image away from him.
Something bitter rises in Copia's throat and he'd been understanding, he'd been kind but now...eyes locked on his unmoving little ghoul, he feels the resentment and he can't find a single kind thought to offer to the one who left him broken like this. He used to fuel Dew's fire but he snuffed out the flame and took the matches with him when he left.
He swallows the curses he wants to spit against his name, allows himself a moment to breathe before he dares to speak Dewdrop's.
"Dew." He squeezes whatever he has his hand on when he flinches, like he wasn't expecting anyone to remember his name. "Amore Mio..."
Nothing happens for what feels like uncountable hours but eventually his hand comes out from under the mound of blankets and Copia grabs hold of it, cradling it between both of his palms. It's cold, something he's not used to from the fire ghoul and it twists the knife just a little further in his guts, bleeding more hate from some deep hidden vein inside of him.
He bites down his rage when Dew finally pulls the blanket down enough for Copia to see him. His hair is knotted, sweat and tears and the stale, bitter whiskey trapped in the usually immaculate gold strands. What kicks him in the chest though are his eyes, swollen, dark like he'd gone to blows with an adversary far too big for him.
Copia wants to kiss the shadows from every line on his face until his eyes are bright again, until his cheeks go pink under the praise just waiting for the chance to spill into his ears again.
"Come." He squeezes his hand. He doesn't ask but the order is soft. He can say no, he could and Copia would accept that but he knows Dew. He knows his ghoul.
It takes a while but he moves eventually,  taking his blanket with him, still wrapped tightly around himself. He thinks of a fly, trapped by a spider but abandoned, wrapped up and helpless but resigned to the hand fate dealt it. He thinks it's probably the last place he was held and he wonders if the blanket feels like his arms...
Dew pauses, waits for guidance and Copia forces all other thoughts from his mind. He takes his hand, kisses his knuckles and pulls him from the room, a corpse walking from its tomb.
He knows the others will slip in, strip the agony from the bed, pull sheets that smell like pain, like a death they can't fully fathom. He knows Rain will grit his teeth when they don't let him burn them, he knows Mountain will neatly fold his shirt even though he will ache to shred it. He knows Cumulus and Aurora will snarl their way through sorting what's Dew's and what's not, wanting to destroy anything that may continue to hurt him, shoving it into a box like a casket. Hidden but not buried. Not until he's ready to lay it to rest.
He doesn't drop his hand even when they are locked in his room, he keeps contact, holds on for his reassurance and Dew's in equal parts. He doesn't give him time to pause too long, pulling him across the room to the bathroom, not giving his steps time to falter, not giving his mind time to question.
Copia starts the bath and turns back to Dewdrop while it fills. He keeps his expression calm while he gently works the blanket off of Dew's shoulders and he tries not to think about how frail he looks. He's always been small, but he's never looked weak.
It freezes something in him when Dew nearly folds in on himself, hiding from Copia. He's never hidden.
"You don't have- I can do it."
"I know." And he does, he knows Dew's capable of moving Heaven and Earth but he doesn't want him to have to right now. "But let me. Let me make it better, amore."
And Dew looks at him like he always does, like he's willing to trust him, like his hands really do know how to mend wounds he didn't create. He ducks his head against Copia's shoulder and let's out a breath that sounds too close to a sob and he shakes like the ice is melting from his bones.
It's a start.
He guides him into the water until he sits with his back to Copia, his knees brought up under his chin. He starts with his hair, works the knots out with careful fingers, offering soft words when he pulls too much. He can recall every time he's had his fingers in Dew's hair but its never been like this, its never felt so vital. He hopes as he untangles the strands the chocking vines of heartbreak will loosen their hold as well, if he can untangle his hair maybe his mind will follow.
He takes his time washing it once the knots are gone, dragging his nails over his scalp, paying attention to his horns, pressing the way that always made him purr and nuzzle closer. He doesn't purr now but his shoulders aren't quite as tense and he turns his head to press further into Copia's hands, seeking comfort like he never expected to feel it again.
His hands slide to grip his shoulders squeezing until Dew's head tips forward, sighing as Copia wrings the tension from them. He kisses the back of his neck, the first knob of his spine and one of Dew's hands comes up to rest on top of Copia's.
It's a sign, Dew's grabbing hold of the lifeline, allowing himself to be pulled out of the relentless undertow that's been pulling him under over and over again.
It doesn't matter how long he kneels on the floor, knees aching, all that matters is Dew looks more alive as Copia kisses the back of his neck, or when he hooks his chin over his shoulder and hums because he knows his ghoul likes the way it sounds. There is color in his cheeks and though the shadows are still there Copia thinks he stands a chance against them now.
"I'll be right back." The flinch is like a brand and he takes Dew's chin and makes him look at him. "I will be right back."
He grabs the blanket Dew had been wrapped in, scowling at it like it had done wrong. He tosses it into the hall, kicking it for good measure, resisting the urge to spit on the crumpled fabric that had kept his ghoul hidden from him.
He grabs Dew something to sleep in, something that smells like him, not the bitter ocean water tears that have saturated everything Dew owns at this point, something that smells safe, like home and unbroken promises.
The shadows have crept back over Dew's face when Copia gets back into the bathroom, a painful distance in his eyes like he just expected Copia to have abandoned him, left him alone and forgotten. It churns his stomach like a storm.
Dewdrop let's Copia take his hands and pull him from the water, let's him dry him off, let's him dress him. He doesn't have any fight in him, just goes along with whatever Copia wants to do.
Copia wraps his arms around him once he's dressed and Dew presses his face against his neck and just breathes.
He runs his hands over his back, lets his nails drag the way he knows Dew likes. He doesn't comment on the hitch in his breath, he doesn't mention how tight he's clinging.
"Ti ho preso. Sono proprio qui." He whispers, kissing his temple, letting his lips just rest against his hair, closing his eyes and letting Dew take whatever he needs in that silent moment.
Copia pulls him gently into the bedroom, gets him settled comfortably on the bed, joining quickly and pressing as close to him as he can, arms locked around him. He counts his breaths, lets his palm rest over his beating heart and feels himself breathe just a little easier when his ghoul relaxes against him.
"Papa..."
"It's ok."
"I just....it-"
"I know." He holds him tighter, tries to make him feel how much he loves him, tries to get him to understand how far he'd go for him. "I know, amore."
The silence falls heavy and Copia waits, he can feel the weight of the words on Dew's tongue as if they sit on his own.
"Say you won't leave." His voice shakes. "Even if it's not- just...just tell me you won't leave me on purpose."
"I will never leave you. As long as I breathe, Dewdrop."
He's not sure Dew really believes it, not right now anyway, not when the wound of a similar vow broken still weeps somewhere in his chest. But he means it, he won't leave, and he'd fight tooth and nail to prove it if he had to.
He listens as he falls asleep, fingers twisted with Copia's, clinging onto his lifeline as dreams take him away. Copia stays awake, vigilant against nightmares that threaten to hurt him further, whispers when Dew twitches, lets his words drift in and chase away a voice in Dew's mind still echoing words screamed in anger.
Copia kisses the top of his head, smiling just a little when Dew presses closer in his sleep.
"Sono qui, amore mio. Per sempre."
Dew had had a good day, dropped but not unhappy. He'd had a long day in the infirmary for standard checkups and he had been cranky about it while Omega had to poke at him, but not overly upset. Especially when Rain came and took him off the bed and held him close to his chest as they walked home.
Dew had seen the sunshine through the windows, pointing happily, asking Rain "'side p'ease!"
He had smiled and kissed the top of his head. "As soon as I finish up the chores we will go out. I promise."
Dew blinked at him, slow and trusting. "Bu-bees!"
"We'll visit the bumblebees, yes."
Rain had strapped him to his chest so he could keep working, Dew facing out away from him so he could watch, waving and giggling at anyone who passed by, blowing kisses to the Sisters like the little charmer he was.
Rain finishes everything he needs to do pretty quickly, Dew's happy babbles giving him something to focus on beside the tasks at hand. He laughs when he hears certain words, the jumbled languages that run through his mind just pouring from his lips. Rain can recognize some, but some he's completely in the dark about. He loves listening to him, loves knowing that his mind is full of love and laughter and not a neverending maze of shadows.
"Ok, I'm all done let me go change and we can go outside."
Dew kicks his feet excitedly, still strapped to Rain's chest. He rests his hand along his belly as they head up the stairs, Rain always takes them slow, a hand on the baby and the other gripping the railing just in case his legs give out.
Once he's in his room he gets Dew off his chest and sitting up on the bed, handing him Basil to keep him entertained while he changes into thin sweats and a hoodie.
"Alright, ready petit soleil?" (Little sun)
"Go 'side!"
Rain laughs a little, shaking his head fondly. "Yes Mon amour, we can go outside now."
He grabs a blanket in case it gets chilly and carries Dew back downstairs to the back door, ready to wander down the little path to the garden. Dew is happily babbling again until they both see through the glass doors that it is pouring rain. Rain hadn't even noticed, too focused on his chores and the baby to realize.
Dew whimpers, nuzzling closer, turning his head away so he doesn't have to look at the rain.
"No..."
"I'm sorry amour...I didn't realize it was raining."
"Bu-bees..."
He feels awful, Dew's sad orange eyes looking up at him. He hugs the tiny ghoul closer and goes to shut the door but he catches music before he does. Dew seems to hear it too, his ears twitching and his head turning toward where it's coming from.
"Iss..."
"You think it's Swiss?"
Dew points in the general direction the sound is coming from. "Go p'ease!"
He smiles and heads out onto the covered wrap around porch. Dew scrunches up, growling at the rain that drips against the railing.
Rain spots Swiss on the porch swing, his guitar on his lap as he strums mindlessly, watching the rain. He looks content, peaceful as he sits there and part of him almost hates to interrupt.
Dew however doesn't seem to care. "Iss!"
Swiss looks over, a big grin taking over his face when he spots Rain and Dew.
"Sorry to bug you. We were going to go for a walk but the weather has other ideas and then he heard you."
"I like the company." He smiles and squeezes Dews little hand when he's close enough to reach. "Hi luciérnaga."
Dew points out at the rain. "No bu-bees..."
Swiss frowns. "I'm sorry. Want some music until the rain passes?"
Dew wiggles in Rain's arms until the water ghoul sits beside Swiss. Dew lays his hand on top of the guitar and Swiss smiles, strumming the strings, heart melting at the smile Dew gives him.
"Lluvia lluvia vete ya
Otro día volverás
Papi quiere jugar
Lluvia lluvia vete ya
Lluvia lluvia vete ya
Otro día volverás
Mami quiere jugar
Lluvia lluvia vete ya
Hermanito…
Hermanita…
Bebé…
La familia…" (rain rain go away)
"Go 'way!" Dew claps but growls when the rain doesn't appear to listen.
Rain and Swiss both laugh and Dew taps on the guitar, reaching out to touch Swiss' mouth to get him to sing again. He kisses his little palm and starts to sing for him.
Rain rocks the swing slowly back and forth, Dew resting his head on his shoulder, his hand still pressed to the guitar to feel the music as well as hear it.
Swiss watches his eyes get heavy. The rain doesn't seem to be coming to an end anytime soon but the baby seems content to rest safely against Rain while Swiss sings quietly.
Dew falls asleep as they all sit there, comfortable and at ease despite the heavy rain.
"I didn't think we'd ever get here. He's doing so well. Maybe one day he will even like the rain."
"Until it interferes with his bumblebee time." Rain laughs, pressing a kiss to his fuzzy little head.
Swiss laughs at that, knowing how angry he gets when he can't visit his bees. He keeps playing, something soft and quiet while Rain keeps the swing moving. They watch the rain together, content to just sit quietly in each other's company while Dew naps, his little fingers curled in Rain's shirt.
He purrs in his sleep, nuzzled close to Rain's neck, breathing slow and steady, peacefully dreaming as the rain falls and Swiss' music continues to fill the air.
hi!! I hope you’re having or had a good day, can you please do like trans anything. hcs, fic, etc. whatever yoy want
Hi! I have and I hope you have too!
Ofc (: I have a bunch of little trans headcanons, also if you’re not a regular around her feel free to scroll through my ao3 or writing tag, I have a bunch of little trans fics for a lot of the ghouls! (There’s like 3-4 trans Swiss posts not far down I was really on something the other day. Mmm Swussy)
(Small reminder that I am not trans, but I always love supporting and writing about the ghouls being trans. However if I say something that isn’t accurate/is offensive please don’t hesitate to say something. I try to do my research but do make mistakes.)
As for main headcanons that will show up in most if not all fics of mine, I hc rain as trans, Zeph as nonbinary and uses they/them, and mist as intersex and uses she/her pronouns!
As for other little things:
Dew got his top surgery scars tattooed over by Swiss. It was of these cool centipede looking creatures, Swiss had to steal one from the greenhouse and put in a jar to use as a reference.(Actually aether had to, Swiss screamed and said it was attacking him)
Gym bro ifrit using gender affirming exercises to change his breasts, making them more muscular so they’re more like pecs instead. (Zeph almost passes out when he finally is comfortable enough to wear a tank top without a binder and they could see them through the sides)
I think alpha is scared of needles and so omega has to help him with his shots. There’s a point where alpha definitely gets over it but just likes how omega does it anyways and doesn’t want him to stop.
Aurora being over the absolute fucking moon when she finally starts forming breasts. Super small, barely enough to fill out a bralette so it doesn’t gap, but shes so excited. Cirrus absolutely goes and buys her a couple new cute bras since she can wear them now.
Aether looking up every way he can to help cirrus voice train. Sits with her a bunch at night while he tries to coach her, slowly getting her voice higher and higher until she’s comfortable and it no longer puts strain on her vocal cords.
For the kiss prompts, number 21 with Mountaindew if you wanna! Please and thank you 🖤
can i just say thank you so so much for sending this?? i havent been able to stop thinking about it all day KJNFHBS ive been tossing around some ideas in my head for a couple of months now but this helped me turn those into actual writing shjbfd
21. …on a place of insecurity. (cw for body dysmorphia)
Dew picked up the pair of jeans he had tossed to the floor before going to sleep the previous night and stepped into them. They slipped past his calves and over his knees with ease as he pulled them up. When they reached the meat of his thighs, though, he had to shimmy them up a little. He did his fly up and turned to reach for a tshirt but paused when he caught sight of himself in the mirror.
Something felt off. He stepped closer, trying to figure out what it was. He looked at where his trousers met his waist and noticed how they dug into his pale skin, causing it to ever so slightly spill over the top of his jeans. He frowned.
There was a knock at the door and the sound of creaking as it opened.
“Hey, firefly. Are you ready to come help me in the greenhouse?”
Dew didn’t turn to greet Mountain, he didn’t even lift his gaze to look at the earth ghoul’s reflection in the mirror. His eyes were still fixed on the fat of his waist and his brain was filled with roaring static. His view of the mirror was blocked, though, as Mountain stood in front of him. Dew sucked in a breath he hadn’t realised he’d been withholding and looked up at Mountain
“What’s wrong, droplet?” The concern in Mountain’s voice echoed the expression on his face.
“I-” Dew faltered. He felt stupid for feeling so weird about it. He looked down at the ground in shame. Except his gaze never reached the ground, it got caught again on his waist.
Mountain followed his line of sight and smiled softly. “I see...”
“I gained weight, Mount.” Dew’s voice shook slightly as he said it and he felt even more pathetic.
“You did.” Mountain agreed. “I’m guessing you’re not feeling too great about it, though?”
Dew shook his head and Mountain hummed as moved to kneel before Dew.
“I can understand where those feelings might be coming from… May I touch you?”
Dew nodded and Mountain gently placed his hands on his waist. “Do you remember how thin you were when you were first summoned? I do,” the earth ghoul brushed his calloused thumbs against Dew’s soft skin. “Your hip bones jutted out so prominently,” he moved his thumbs to circle the bumps of Dew’s hips, delicately pressing into the small layer of fat between the skin and the bone. “And your stomach looked like it had never been home to a good meal in its life,” Dew shuddered as Mountain pulled a hand away from his hip to stroke down the gentle curve of his belly. “I thought you were the most beautiful ghoul I had ever seen. But I also didn’t know if you were gonna make it-” Mountain’s voice broke slightly as he looked up at Dew, who wiped a tear from his cheek before the earth ghoul could notice it falling. “I still think you’re the most beautiful ghoul I have ever seen. But now? You have never looked more alive.”
Dew didn’t know what to say. He was overwhelmed with emotions that he couldn’t even name. He tried to open his mouth to speak, to tell Mountain how much he appreciated his words, his whole existence. To tell him how grateful he was each and every day to have met him. But he could only manage to say one thing.
“I love you.”
Mountain smiled, clearly knowing everything that those words meant in that moment. “I love you too, firefly. Each and every part of you.” He lowered his head to press a kiss into the softness of Dew’s stomach, his lips as soft as rose petals. He moved further up and pressed more kisses into his skin. Over old scars and new curves. Looking up at the mirror, he saw every so-called imperfection suddenly made perfect. He wondered if this was how Mountain, how everyone in his pack, saw him every day. Mountain worked his way up Dew’s body with his kisses until he reached his face, where he stood up, planted a kiss on the tip of Dew’s nose then backed away.
“Hey!” Dew frowned.
Mountain laughed lightly. “What?”
“You forgot a spot.” Dew pouted and pointed to his lips.
Mountain raised an eyebrow. “You’re still meant to be helping me in the greenhouse today, remember? I can’t just give you your reward for that now.”
Dew somehow managed to pout even more and Mountain rolled his eyes. He bent down and gave Dew a little peck on the lips.
“A little taster, then. Just for you.”
Dew laughed and shook his head “I guess that will have to last me all day.” He threw on a shirt and quickly brushed his hair before putting it up in a ponytail. As he turned to leave, he caught sight of his reflection in the mirror again. This time he smiled. Only a small one, but it was a smile nonetheless.
The fire ghoul looked up at Mountain’s reflection in the mirror. “Hey Mount?”
“Yes?”
Dew turned around. “Thank you.” Mountain crossed the room and cradled Dew’s face with a large, warm hand. “Thank you for letting me love you as much as you let me.”
Baby dew listening to recordings of aether singing Irish lullaby’s while on tour
I kinda changed it a little but I hope it's ok!
Cw: Dew needs his inhaler and rescue inhaler, nightmares, very upset baby Dew, Aether isn't with them but he saves the day anyway, cg Mountain, cg Aether
Tumblr media
Dew had been quiet all day, leaned up against Rain as they headed off for tour, leaving Aether behind. He was trying to be strong, was trying to hold it together and remind himself that he wasn't alone, that Aether would be there when they got home.
But his chest hurt and there was a fear sitting in his stomach.
Rain kept him close, kept him as distracted as he could and it helped. He at least had the rest of the pack that he could lean on and turn to. But it still felt wrong. Being away from Aether always did.
He manages to get through the first few days without too much going awry. Small hiccups that come with being on the road but nothing serious.
Until their first stop.
They need to stretch their legs and get off the bus before they all go stir crazy. They stop at a mall and it's packed which already makes his skin crawl but he figures it'll be fine. Mountain looked nervous so Dew turned all his focus on him, staying close and keeping anyone from crowding him.
The air is hot and stuffy and there are too many things in the air that make his throat itch and feel too tight.
"I need to go back to the bus..."
Mountain hears the wheeze in his words and grabs his hand, dragging him quickly to the door. Dew's already got his inhaler up to his lips when they get outside. It takes longer than he'd like for his breathing to get back to somewhat normal and his head hurts and he just wants to sleep.
Mountain heads to the bus with him, not wanting to go back into the mall, happy for the quiet while the others wander around.
It only gets worse when the nightmares decide to start once he falls asleep and he drops hard. He wails when he wakes up, little body soaked in sweat, shaking in terror from the images his mind had played out.
It scares Mountain awake, the earth ghoul flying up off the couch and ripping back the curtain of Dew's bunk.
"I'm here, it's ok, you're ok!"
But it does nothing, he keeps crying, little wobbly screams, cheeks red and tear stained. Mountain swaddles him and bounces him, walking slowly around the bus. Dew won't even take his soother and he cries himself silent. He still cries but he can't make noise anymore and Mountain's heart races.
He grabs the spare emergency inhaler with the little mask, he already knows he'll need it. His breaths get weaker and Mountain gets the mask adjusted, helping the tiny ghoul breathe.
"Breathe baby."
He's still not fully out of it by the time the others get back. Rain's immediately by Mountain's side, worry clear on his face.
He fusses and squirms and no one can get him settled. Rain's phone buzzes in his pocket and he's not surprised to see Aether calling.
He doesn't even say hello. "Let me see him."
He holds the phone up in front of Dew and Aether talks until he's able to focus, dark eyes locked on the screen, hitched little breaths as he stares at Aether.
"Ask Phantom to bring some headphones for Dew please."
Phantom hears and grabs his smallest pair, handing them to Rain to not scare Dew further. He plugs them into the phone and helps Mountain secure them over his ears, adjusting the volume so it's not too loud. Mountain holds him to his chest so they don't slip off of him.
"Tá mé anseo, a leanbh. Ar mhaith leat daidí a chanadh?" (I'm here baby, do you want daidí to sing?)
Dew blinks when Aether's voice fills his ears, his eyes flickering to Mountain's, his little hand coming to touch the headphones against his ears.
Mountain laughs at the confused little pinch between his brows and he offers him his soother. He takes it easily now and looks back at the phone.
Aether smiles and starts to sing quietly. (The lullaby is Óró)
"Oró mo leanbh beag
Fan na luí ag mo thaobh
Ná scar uaim
Oró mo stóirín
Thug tú dochas mo stóirín
Go mbeidh mé slán"
Mountain thinks he could cry when Dew purrs, soft and quiet but there all the same.
He pokes the screen with his little finger. "Aef..."
"That is Aeth."
"Codladh sámh, codladh sámh
Codladh sámh a páiste mo chroí...
Oró mo leanbh beag
Glac mo chomhairle cinnte
Mo grá go sámh
Oró mo leanbh beag
Agus paidir ó mo chroí
Tá do tsaol romhat"
Mountain rocks him while Dew watches Aether, his eyes getting heavy as Aether sings to him. He keeps singing lullabies until he's sure Dew is asleep and Mountain unplugs the headphones so he can hear him.
"You're a lifesaver, Aeth."
"Felt him panicking, couldn't call earlier because I was stuck in a surgery."
"We tried everything. Even Lus couldn't calm him down." He sighs, adjusting Dew carefully against his chest. "Guess he just needed you."
"I'm sorry I just-"
"Nothing to be sorry for, Aether. It'll get easier. Not easy but, he'll be ok."
"Just feel like maybe this was a mistake. What if-"
"Aether." Mountain shushes Dew when he whimpers in his sleep, apologizing quietly for his tone until the little ghoul settles again. "You are doing what's right for you. I know you miss him, I know seeing him like this isn't helping your decision, but you know it was for the best. He knows it was for the best."
Aether nods, he knows Mountain is right. "Can you put the headphones back on him for a bit. I just..."
"Sure Aeth." Mountain smiles, he understands. He's careful when he gets them situated over his little ears and he's amazed he stays asleep. He sits back and gets comfortable, letting Aether have whatever time he needs.
Dew purrs when Mountain sees Aether start to sing again, peacefully sleeping with Aether's voice in his ears.
"Suantraí sí, a linbhín
Luasc go mall sa chliabhán
Lú lá luí, a linbhín
Dún do shúil, a naíonáin
Seoithín seoithín seoithín seó
Seoithín seoithín seoithín seó
Seoithín seoithín seoithín seó
Suantraí sí, a linbhín,
A thaiscidh, a stór..." (Lullaby is Suantraí Sí)
Cumulus : “…If I was something sweet, what would I be?”
Cirrus, cuddling with Cumulus : “One of those frosted heart cakes, specifically in pink with cherries and swirls. It would say ‘angel’ ontop of it, aswell because that’s what you are. You’re my angel.”
Dew, intrigued for once : “Hey, if I was something sweet, what would I be?”
Mountain : “Shortbread-”
Dew : “I AM 5’8. 5 FOOT AND 8 INCHES.”
Swiss, yelling from the kitchen : “YOUD BE A MENACING BOTTLE OF CHILLI POWDER BECAUSE YOURE A CUNT! FUCK. ME!”
Rain, walking in from the kitchen : “Swiss got chilli powder in his eye. Again.”
nobody expected phantom to be a fighter.
it wasn't something that they thought could happen, he looked like the quiet type, like if it came to it, he'd fly rather than fight.
so they really didn't expected phantom to punch rain.
nobody really paid attention to what happened, nobody really cared about the new quint ghoul that much, but when they heard the smack, when they saw phantom looking at rain with so much anger, when they saw rain clutching the side of his face...
and then phantom flyed. he ran like nothing before.
