Hopping back on here to give a quick update. We're going to return to Tumblr under a different account which will probably not be solely alterhuman-related because we think having a bunch of sideblogs was contributing to why Tumblr felt so stressful. It's easy to forget that social media is supposed to be fun, but we want to give Tumblr another go with much stricter personal boundaries around what we engage with. Our new blog is @/mechdeer if anyone wants to give us a follow there. Elsewhere on the web, we also have a Dreamwidth account and a website.

Tumblr Hiatus

We haven't been very active on here recently, mostly due to health-related stuff as well as re-evaluating our social media use. As such we wanted to make a quick post to say we're taking an "official" Tumblr hiatus (i.e., deleting the app off our phone and not going on Tumblr at all) and will re-evaluate in a few weeks. In the meantime we might start posting on Dreamwidth and possibly other slower-paced sites like forums. We love the alterhuman community but feel social media sites like Tumblr are having a negative impact on our mental health.

We don't, because the different locations don't really exist in relation to each other. They kind of just exist separately within the inner world and we can essentially teleport between them, so we could try to map it but it wouldn't be representative of how it actually works.

it's so isolating as an adaptive system needing to block nearly half of the community because they're all so violently hateful. i am barred from support groups and helpful tools because i don't spew anti endo hate every five seconds. it's a choice that's easy to make but it's also a choice that shouldn't have to be made. can i scroll the tags for my disorder without seeing how much you'd like endos to die in a ditch every two posts? please? thank you?

growing up I always wanted to be poorly understood by science

i was talking to someone about copyright the other day and the conversation hit an immediate lurch as they went "you wouldn't call Nightcore an example of something transformative, would you?" and i immediately replied "i would" and then we kind of awkwardly sat there for a bit

We're still a new system.

During a stressful moment in the middle of the night we had our first split. And afterwards we were very, very lost. So we turned to Tumblr and got to adapting and curating our spaces. As time went on, we realized that the community is very...split, if you will.

Which made sense, being plural is very complicated! It's a disorder but also can be spiritual and not disordered at all. But I've seriously never seen levels of fakeclaiming this bad.

Let alone these levels of our own community wishing our kind didn't exist.

Trauma doesn't define our existence. And if you believe that plurality is only caused by disorders, to say you wish an entire form of neurodivergentcy to not exist is pretty fucking weird.
