Y1: Summer - Recap

It was a great summer in the newly built housing project - Aspiration Point. Four families moved into their new homes and begun their lives in this growing neighbourhood - The Armstrong siblings, the elderly Noel brothers and grandchildren, The Martinez family, and the Davis household.

Bradley Armstrong and Delfina Martinez began crushing on each other and soon fell in love.

However Bradley also has feelings for Emeline Noel - who returns those feelings!

Matthias and Roland Noel made fast friends with the only other kid in their school from Aspiration Point - Micaela Martinez. 

Micaela Martinez quickly found herself becoming one of the family - Emeline Noel welcomed her with a noogie.

Trouble could be brewing in the Martinez’s marriage...Despite her husband being the commitment-phobe, Maria Martinez found that Frank Noel caught her eye.

Delfina Martinez and Bradley Armstrong had their very first kiss and became boyfriend and girlfriend.

Aaron was determined to sell a great novel - so first he had to write it!

Islay and Fenella Davis decided to take part time jobs in the Science career - making them the only sims in the neighbourhood with jobs of any kind.

They both quickly received promotions to “human guinea pigs”...which doesn’t seem great, but they were happy.

Their adopted son, Blair, awkwardly made small talk with the maid about relationships.

At the end of Round One (Year 1, Summer), we have: - 4 households (still) - 16 sims (still) - a neighbourhood networth of $95,588 Total Points: 17

Another Tracking Sheet

A sequel (or is it a prequel) to the 3 to 2 traits tracking sheet I give you: Sims 2 Medieval Traits Tracking Sheet. While it seems like creation of mods that use these traits has slowed down, I'm hoping that there will be a Renaissance😉 to incorporate or medevial-ize more of the traits.

Y1: Summer - Davis

Islay Davis (left) and her wife Fenella Davis (right), adopted their son Blair Davis (bottom right) when he was only a toddler, and have cherished giving him a good life and education as he’s grown into an adult. I did decide to built the Davis family a house. Again, I am not a builder but it could be worse.

Islay and Fenella’s bedroom is on the bottom right (where we can see them cuddling in bed!) and Blair and Micheil will share the bedroom on the top right.

As soon as they’re all moved in, Islay and Fenella decided to take a little time for themselves.

Fenella was the only sim in the neighbourhood to roll a want for a job, so she took a position in the Science career as a Lab Glass Scrubber.

Islay immediately rolled the want to join her wife in the Science career, and got a job scrubbing glass too.

Blair got to know the new maid but may have come on a little too strong talking about his last relationship...

At work, Islay got a chance card. She decided to leave Dr. Finkelstein’s experiment alone.

He was extremely happy she hadn’t touched it and gave her a bonus that day.

Blair spent time teaching Micheil to talk. Despite his initial reluctance, Micheil did learn to talk by the end of the summer.

Islay climbed up the ladder of the Lab Science world, and pretty soon she was promoted to Test Subject.

While unclogging their toilet, Islay learned she actually quite likes Tinkering and repairing items around the house. A new hobby at this stage of her life, who would’ve thought?

With the help, and amusing faces, of all three of the grown ups in the house, little Micheil was finally potty trained.

Micheil moved on to banging on the xylophone instead.

Fenella also managed to land that promotion to Test Subject just a few days after Islay, and once again the wives were working together in the same job.

Y1: Summer - Martinez

Aaron Martinez (top left) and Maria Martinez (top right) were high school sweethearts who had their oldest daughter Delfina Martinez (bottom right) in their final year of high school. This didn’t stop them both from going to university and getting good degrees, however! They did wait until after graduation to have middle child Micaela Martinez (bottom left), and little Soraya Martinez (bottom middle) followed not long after. Now they’ve decided to move to Aspiration Point to have a bit more room, and are considering expanding their family even more. SimCity Housing Association was very keen to add university educated sims to the Aspiration Point community!

The Martinez Family got the Cape Cod Classic house from the Lot Bin because they needed a few bedrooms but couldn’t afford anything bigger.

Little Soraya’s nursery is on the ground floor, Aaron and Maria have the upstairs room on the left, and Delfina and Micaela share the upstairs room on the right. There house has been furnished with the basics because that was just about all they could afford.

Aaron gets right inside studying cleaning and learns a deep appreciation for Nature. Bird-watching is his favourite past time.

Meanwhile, Maria is left to potty-train Soraya, and make funny faces while she waits.

The Welcome Wagon for this household was Blair Davis (pictured) and Luc and Frank Noel. Aaron is pleased to meet the neighbours.

Maria might be even more pleased to meet the neighbours. She immediately rolled the want to flirt with Frank as soon as she met him. Romance sims....

Delfina studied cleaning and decided to follow in her father’s footsteps with a Nature hobby. She prefers to spend her time in nature hiking though, not bird watching like Aaron.

Of course the first sim Delfina brought home from school was Bradley Armstrong, her crush.

She found out that he felt the same, and they quickly fell in love.

Love didn’t stop her pelting him with a football though!

Of course, she decided she wanted to have her very first kiss and make things official with Bradley as soon as possible.

Apparently, she couldn’t keep her mind on her schoolwork because she came home with a D-. But she also came home with Bradley in tow!

Delfina made her move and she and Bradley had their first kiss.

When she asked him to Go Steady with her, Bradley said yes! Delfina’s parents were a little too excited for their daughter and her new boyfriend, and immediately rushed over to congratulate them.

True Love!

Micaela scored an A- in school, while Delfina’s grades dropped to an F and she became officially the worst student from Aspiration Point.

Aaron wanted to finally sit down and use his literature degree to write his first novel. Neither he nor Maria had jobs so he figured this might earn them some money.

Soraya manged to learn to use the potty while her sisters were out at school or with boys! Delfina and Micaela took some time to hang out with their babysister and help her learn from the charisma bunny.

With all three of their daughters busy, Aaron and Maria took the opportunity to have a date night for the first time in years.

Y1: Summer - Noel

Luc Noel (top right) moved in with his wayward older brother Frank Noel (top left) to make sure he was taken care of now they were both getting on in years. Frank never did settle down and start a family, but Luc did. Luc was not expecting the sad accident that left his grandkids, Emeline Noel (middle), Matthias Noel (bottom left) and Roland Noel (bottom right) without their parents. Now as well as taking care of his deadbeat brother, Luc is trying to raise his three grandchildren. With the unexpected growth of his household, he packed up and moved them out to Aspiration Point.

Luc moved his family into a nice big house where they could all have their own room and really spread out. (I did have to build this one - and like I said I am NOT a builder! My own builds are nowhere near as pretty as others but I’m learning)

There was plenty of room for all of them, however not much money left over to fill the house! 

I realised I made it far too big, but it seemed fine while I was building it and I couldn’t be bothered downsizing it once they’d moved in. Maybe I will as some point though. Frank’s bed room is on the ground floor. Luc’s bedroom is the red one upstairs, Emeline’s bedroom is the pink one upstairs, and Matthias and Roland share currently.

Frank wanted to adopt a kitten and Matthias and Roland both wanted a pet too. When Frank rang up the Pet Adoption agency, there were no kitten’s available and the only cat there was a bit out of their price range sadly.

Frank didn’t mind too much in the end. He contented himself with watching tv and discovering his appreciation for Film and Literature. He finds himself a true film connoisseur. 

Emeline meanwhile discovered a love of Music and Dance while watching the Sim Station Dance channel. She’d love to learn to play the piano in particular.

Islay Davis stopped by to meet the neighbours and welcome them to the neighbourhood. Luc was glad to meet other elder sims who’d also uprooted their lives to move to Aspiration Point. It made him feel like maybe it hadn’t been such a crazy decision.

Roland brought Micaela Martinez home from school with him and they became firm friends. Matthias also brought her home from school with him once or twice and became friends with her too.

Matthias discovered a love of sports while playing catch with Roland. His favourite sport is Football.

He is still desperate for a pet though. Sorry Matthias! There are only two pets available for adoption and you can’t afford either one :/

While watching the Yummy Channel, Roland learns the wonders of fine Cuisine. He can’t wait to be old enough to try Nectar.

Micaela comes home with the boys so often that Emelina now considers her part of the family, and can’t help but give her a noogie as if she were truly one of her siblings.

Emelina did managed to invite a friend home with her from school too - Delfina Martinez. Maybe they bonded over both having a crush on Bradley Armstrong? Or maybe they’re keeping that a secret from each other...

Matthias and Roland made grandpa Luc proud by both getting an A+ by the end of Summer.

Y1:Summer - Armstrong

While they are both only teenagers, Bradley was able to sell the SimCity Housing Association on letting them move, particularly after he mentioned money from his mother’s estate! Bradley and Claudia, with the money from their mother’s estate, were able to buy a little two bedroom house to move into. (Its just one from the Lot Bin - I am NOT a builder haha)

The white and grey bedroom is Bradley’s as its bigger and he’s older, and the green bedroom in Claudia’s.

The Welcome Wagon arrived while Bradley and Claudia were at school, but they were kind enough to stick around until they got home again. We have Fenella Davis and Maria Martinez greeting Bradley straight off the school bus.

Bradley also invited Emeline Noel home from school with him on the first day.

These two have two bolts but so far only want to play Punch Me-Punch U.

During a game of Red Hands, Bradley discovered his love of Games! He’s especially interested in playing Pool and Snooker.

Arrgghh! Fenella Davis and Aaron Martinez managed to break both the sink and the TV while they were at the Armstrong house, so they had to call a repair person first thing the next morning.

Delfina Martinez came home with Claudia after school one day too.

Turns out Bradley also has two bolts with Delfina! He immediately flirted with his sister’s new friend and they ended up crushing on each other straight away.

Bradley turned into quite the ladies man, finally making a move (other than punching) on Emeline Noel. Now he’s crushing on two different people.

I caught Bradley gazing out of the kitchen window, thinking about his mom. I don’t usually pay attention to their thoughts when they look out the window, but I realised he was thinking about his mom because he could see her gravestone!

 Even after all these years, this game still surprises me with little gems like that :)

Claudia spent most of this round quietly studying in the background and it showed by the end of Summer when she managed to get an A+.

Aspiration Point - A Prosperity Challenge

It’s a new year and I am once again starting a new Sims 2 challenge! I’ve tried (with varying levels of success) too many BACC recently, and wanted something rotational without too much restriction - so a Prosperity Challenge it is!

But the TLDR version is that you roll random households to found your hood and play each household for the same amount of time until the birth of the 5th generation.

SimCity Housing Association is proud to present Aspiration Point, a new housing project south of the city with plenty of space to expand and grow. 4 families have uprooted their lives in the city to move to Aspiration Point, seeking more space, home ownership, or just seeking a new start.

The Armstrong Family

I'm so tired of the negativity I see in some corners of the community, so here are some things I love about the TS2 community in 2023...

I love that there still even is a community of active players and creators more than 18 years after the game came out

I love that new players are picking up this game that's older than some of them

I love how active the CC making side of the community still is

I love seeing newcomers learning how to install, play, and create

I love oldtimers, those who are still here and those who went away for a while and came back

I love that this game pulls so many of us back

I love that even though EAxis has fully abandoned us, we're still getting influxes of new stuff every time they put out new TS4 DLC

I love that we get all that new stuff for FREE

I love that EAxis has so deeply forgotten us that the game is openly posted for free

I love All-In-One installers

I love things that deeply change the game...height mods, 50 lifetime wants, traits, etc

I love that as TS2 gets older, the variety of gameplay and CC styles just keeps getting bigger

This game has been a part of my life, off and on, for almost half of my 40 years. The greater Sims franchise and community has been part of my life since my late teens. It can only delight me to see that others still find joy, a creative outlet, and a community in and around this game.

The Pedersen Family

Erik Pedersen is our Founder for this challenge. He agreed to lead this expedition in an effort to find a new life to settle down and start a family with. He dreams of one day being surrounded by 6 Grandchildren. Erik is a Capricorn, who is attracted to hard workers and people who are good at cleaning. He’s turned off by underwear & swimwear.

The Patterson Legacy - Veronaville News 1.2

Let’s see what Story Progression made our playables and townies do this time.

First Up, Benedick Monty went to college

And Titania and Goneril had their babies.

As mentioned in the main update, Consort Capp passed away due to old age.

Oberon and Titania got engaged. Lovely!

Isabella Monty adopted a dog to keep her company since her husband has passed and her grandsons are away at university.

And Allegra Gorey became the latest in the list of sims to have their first kiss with playboy Castor Nova. That’s 4 now for those playing along at home!

Hal Capp moved to Sim State to begin his degree!

Titania and Oberon’s little baby, Orlando, became a toddler.

And so did Goneril and Albany’s latest spawn, Calista Capp.

Goneril….seriously….have you and Albany ever hear of birth control?? Their 7th child is on the way.

Not to be outdone, her sister Regan got pregnant too. Lots more Capp babies on the way.

Oberon and Titania officially tied the knot. Maybe they were waiting till after Orlando was born to throw their wedding?

Hmm, Beatrice joined her twin brother at college quite a bit later than he went. I guess she was taking a gap year and figuring out what she wanted to do.

We have a couple of college grads! 

And another college enroller.

Benedick Monty seems to have found love away at college, with Abbey Leong (whoever that is)

Desdemona Capp  also found romance at college, lucky girl.

Oohhhh it seems Puck’s kiss with Hermia Capp last time didn’t mean much because now he’s switched sides in the Veronaville feud and is romancing Beatrice Monty. It also appeasr he may have been the only Veronaville teen so far not to go to university.

His little sister, Bottom, has gone to university.

Hehehehehe Castor Nova got abducted by aliens! Well, with that name….

Goneril and Albany had their 7th baby, and Regan and Albany had twins! I can’t wait to find out their names. How deep in Veronaville lore did Lazy Duchess go to program names?

Aww I do like Beatrice and Puck, even if Puck and Hermia didn’t work out.

Our wall of college grads! Of course Castor Nova went into Show Biz, he’s a natural. I also love Science for Allegra Gorey and Dance for Heather Huffington.

Little Orlando Summerdream became a child who looks just like Oberon! It even kind of looks like he has face paint on haha! And Calista Capp looks like most other Capp children as a child.

Bonus Townie Elder death.

Isabella Monty sadly passed away. Albany Capp became an elder, and Puck Summerdream became an adult.

I’m curious to see what other relationships might pop up! I hope Puck and Beatrice stay together. And I want to see what our original playable teens do once they graduate from university.

The Patterson Legacy - Veronaville News 1.1

For The Patterson Legacy, I’m using Lazy Duchess’s Story Progression Beta Mod so that the hood grows and changes and ages along with my legacy family.

I’ve decided to post updates from story progression along with the main family updates so we can see what our beloved premades and townies are up to in the background!

Education:

Tybalt Capp, Juliette Capp, and Mercutio Monty enroll in Sim State University. I’m sure there will be trouble between Tybalt and Mercutio…

A couple of days later Romeo Monty joins them. Even more trouble, no doubt.

It’s not long before a couple of Capp cousins go to university. To join Mercutio Monty. Whom they both had their first kiss with. How could this go wrong?

Romance and Relationships:

Uh oh, Mercutio being away at university isn’t stopping him romancing his own Capp sister.. Hermia and Mercutio have their first kiss.

…And Mercutio’s been busy! Romancing two Capp ladies. Hope these cousins never find out!

More first kisses happening at Sim State University! Castor Nova sure has been busy. Hope he’s not developing a lip cramp the way he’s going at it. 

Plus Heather Huffington having her first kiss with Castor but immediately turning around and giving Martin Ruben his first kiss? Drama!

There is a nice, sweet, straightforward romance at Sim State after all. Goof for Ty and Sam.

Joshua Ruben seems to be getting in on the Sorority romance action.

Aww, Puck and Hermia get to have a kiss! I’ve always liked those two together. Drama free…unless Hermia still has a thing for Mercutio?

And Oberon adopts a dog haha.

It’s strange to think of little Bottom Summerdream getting romantic but she and Hal Capp definitely are!

Birthdays:

Monty twins Beatrice and Benedick become teenagers. Watch out Veronaville!

And Hal Capp is also a teenager while his little sister Ariel Capp becomes a child.

Bottom Summerdream becomes a teen.

Desdemona Capp joins the Veronaville teens.

Aaand we have the mass townie birthdays.

Pregnancies and Births:

I was thinking the Summerdream’s had been a bit quiet but now Titania is expecting!

Graduations and Careers:

Bianca Monty, Goneril Capp and Regan Capp begin new careers. These actually seem very fitting for all of them

Jane Stacks has finished her degree and joins the Education career. I haven’t played her much at all but that does seem to fit her.

Obituaries:

Patrizio Monty went pretty early on, leaving his wife, children and grandchildren.
