Shot on my Fuji X-T100. Meike 28MM (42mm on APS-C crop sensor) F2.8 manual lens.
As I kill time in Horseshoe bay. Waiting for my ferry to take me to Nanaimo. I snapped a few shots as I strolled. This one is my favourite out of the handful I took. Alway cool to be in a new place and see it for what it is at face value. But then to switch and see it through the lens and see what you can pull out of it, as you look at the surroundings for what I could look like opposed to what it does look like. If that makes sense?!🤣 Maybe it’s just a photographer thing???

Shot on my Fuji X-T100. Meike 28MM (42mm on APS-C crop sensor) F2.8 manual lens.
Was out on my evening stroll and and walked past this spot for the hundredth time, but never noticed it in the light like I did tonight. Went home grabbed my trusty Fuji X-T100 and my new favourite lens. The Meike 28MM 2.8, and headed back out. After playing around with the settings, I found the magic numbers and “click”. Shot was taken.

This is in my local neighbourhood and I walk past it all the time. This night the fog was laying low and seeing the smoke from the chimney had a totally witchy vibe. My hood has a lot of places that give off this spooky feeling when the sun sets. Lots of forest and fog most nights. Plus the lack of street lighting helps with the creepiness.
Low light levels hand held high ISO 10000 at 1/60thshutter speed 28MM focal length. Edited in lite room mobile. Slight exposure increase, texture and clarity. Did not reduce film grain at all.

Shot on my Fuji X-T100 & super Takumar 35mm (52.5mm on APS-C) F1.2 with a Pentax to Fuji mount adapter.
So the following 2 shots are from a trip out to a location that I literally wanted to shoot for almost 10 years, but just never made the time to go do. I only wanted to shoot the chicken on the run restaurant, and honestly I couldn’t get the photo to turn out like I had pictured it in my mind. Maybe the wrong lens or wrong settings. I think it was the focal length to be honest. But surprisingly the second photo. Which is a building just across the street that I never thought of shooting turned out to be my favourite shot of the night. I love how this long exposure turned out! Shooting at night in B&W is my favourite thing, as it challenges me to be really in tune to my surroundings, my camera settings and what it is exactly that I want to get out of the shot.
Also shooting completely manual and having to use manual focus, all adds up to the experience. For me it’s not just about the end result. It’s about the entire process of getting the shot.
I will definitely be going back to shoot the restaurant again. Hopefully it won’t take me another 10 years to do it! 📸

Welcome to my Photo blog. Let’s start with the header photo as my first post. This was shot on my Fujifilm X-T100. I was using my vintage Takumar 55mm (82.5 mm on APS-C sensor) F1.8 with a Pentax to Fuji mount adapter.
I was just creeping the local skate park and the guy in this picture (can’t remember his name) was popping these super clean backside ollies well above the copping. I snapped this one and a couple others. After a while he took a break and that’s when I approached him. We sat down and talked for a while. At first he was a little hesitant but when I showed him the photos he was super stoked. That’s where I love combining old with new. I was shooting this vintage glass, which I love. And was able to send the photo from my camera to my phone. Do a quick edit with the Lightroom app and air drop them to him right on the spot. We chatted for a bit about skateboarding, life and the day to day small talk. Maybe about 20 minutes total. Then we parted ways never to see each other again. These fleeting moments and interactions are all but mementos of our time with the people we see and occasionally talk to. But the story and visual reminder lives on in a photo of a nameless ripper. 📸
