It is with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closing of The Capitol effective immediately. A struggling economy compounded with our growing concerns over public safety due to the Covid-19 virus has depleted our ability to operate a profitable business. We would like to thank everyone who made The Capitol an amazing place and, we hope, something different, unique, and fun to the city these last incredible five years. HOWEVER, it’s not all doom and gloom. We have some good news: 1. The Capitol WILL be open for the remainder of the week online on SkipTheDishes. This is your last chance to experience our menu. 2. Outstanding gift cards, while we cannot accept them online, are valid and honoured at The Lancaster Taphouse. Once again, thank you for your support over the years, Joel and myself are incredibly proud of this little restaurant and everything it was. Please no we are not going away, and we have some new plans we are excited to share with you hopefully over the coming days. Today we heard the sad, tragic news, of the passing of our friend, brother, and Lancaster family member Greg Osmond known to all simply as the legendary "Junior." Junior was a fierce friend, a dedicated employee, and a true spirit of fun and energy. Whenever Junior was around you couldn't help but smile. When someone passes away its not uncommon for friends and relatives to get together and tell stories of the departed. when it comes to Junior, the stories number in the thousands. this may go on for days and days....
