Quote: “I don’t care what you do, so long you do something. You can’t go around making caricatures of the neighbors... Mr. Avery might not think so. (90)”
Here, Atticus shows that he has developed a sense of justice in which everyone should be treated fairly. Atticus didn’t think it was right for Jem and Scout to have made their snowman look like Mr. Avery. He was trying to get them to put themselves in his shoes and think about how Mr. Avery would have felt if he saw this. He might also be trying to teach the kids about treating people fairly, especially in the time and place in which they live in. Since Atticus is a lawyer, he also has to defend people of other races that are not white. He probably does not want his kids to grow up and judge or discriminate other people for their looks. By teaching them not to discriminate other people, he can also be teaching them to put themselves in other people’s perspectives, so they can treat people fairly and not show prejudice. In the end, Atticus did not think it was fair to Mr. Avery for the kids to exaggerate his features, since the kids were the one’s benefiting from it while hs reputation might’ve been getting hurt.

The Lynch Mob (Final Part)
In this final part of The Lynch Mob, I will be talking about how surprised I was to see Mr. Underwood there that night. To think that he had me covered all along. That so crazy! Although I thank him for being there I was actually abe to fight off the lynch mob with Scout and Jem. Now, if Scout and Jem nor Mr. Underwood hadn’t been there, then it would’ve been a big problem. Two unarmed men against a whole group of men that are armed, I don’t think we ever would’ve fought them off. Although they were mainly after Tom, they probably would’ve harmed me too for defending him. I just don’t understand why they go after him. I mean yea it’s because he is an African-American but still why? Why can’t they treat everyone fairly? I mean, it’s not as if Tom was trying to act as if he was superior to them, which he wasn’t. This is another example in which these group of men did not put themselves in Tom’s shoes. If they had stopped to imagine themselves in his place, Tom would probably be home with his family. These men being of the white race must have made them forget their morals if they ever eve had any. In the end, let’s just hope everything turns out well in the trials and Tom is found innocent. Goodnight everyone and see you all in my next post.

The Lynch Mob (Part 3)
Moving aside from Mr. Cunningam’s change in heart, let me talk about how Tom Robinson must’ve been feeling that night. Poor Tom might’ve been dead if there was nobody there watching him. He is a good guy and I know he is not guilty. Those men were wrong for trying to lynch him and they should be the ones in jail, not Tom. If I hadn’t been there that night I would've felt so guilty for not protecting him as his lawyer. He was probably praying with all his might to be set free and be able to see his wife and children. Tom must be suffering through a lot I tell you. This is probably not even the end of the lynch mobs. Who knows if there are more to come? Tom if you are reading this right now, I just want you to know that I will not stop fighting until you are proven innocent. I will be right there by your side until I get to see you return safe and sound to your wife and kids. You can count on me as your lawyer Tom. With that being said, goodnight folks and see you all tomorrow.

The Lynch Mob (Part 2)
As I was saying in my last post, poor Scout didn’t even know what was going on when she walked into the jail that night. I also didn’t want to tell her because she’s too young. Even Mr. Cunningham had a change of heart once Scout started talking to him. I guess he realized that what he was doing was wrong after noticing her innocence. All she did was ask him a simple question and there he goes turning soft on everyone. Although I didn’t do it up front, I actually want to thank Scout for what she did. She not only saved Tom’s life but probably mine as well. This just goes to show that no matter how much of our beast side we show, there is still human inside of us. Again, Mr. Cunningham is a good example of this. He was so caught up in acting like a beast he forgot about his inner human, and Scout’s innocence seemed to have brought him back to reality. Let’s just hope Bob Ewell can have a change in heart just like Mr. Cunningham did and forget about this whole trial thing. Goodnight and see you all in tomorrow's post.

The Lynch Mob (Part 1)
These next four posts might sound a bit odd but please try to bear with me. I have just witnessed the true power of what a child can do. Can you believe that my own daughter Scout was able to stop a lynch mob from occurring just with her innocence? If you don’t know this already, a lynch mob is a group of people with the intent to lynch or kill/ hang someone. I was trying to protect poor Tom from this mob on my own when my two children come out of nowhere. The mob was trying to get me to send them home but they just wouldn’t budge. Who knows what would’ve happened if the kids had actually gone home? The mob would have probably killed me to get to Tom. The poor man didn’t do anything. I’m hoping he is not found guilty after the trials so he can go back to his wife and kids. Well. looks like it’s Scout’s reading time. More on the lynch mob would be up tomorrow. Goodnight folks.

Mrs.Dubose Dies (Part 1)
Today, one of the saddest things has occurred. The death of Mrs. Henry Lafayette Dubose. Although Jem and Scout did not like her very much for the way in which she acted with them, she was one of the most courageous women I have ever seen. The fact that she knew she was going to die yet battled with her morphine addiction to not have to die with it shows just how strong of a woman she really is. I really do wish Jem and Scout could have looked past how she treated them and actually respected her for who she was. Mrs. Dubose has also taught me something aside from courage in which I can teach my kids. She has taught me about self-respect. While most people saw a nasty, morphine-addicted old lady, I saw a lady who was fighting to die with self-respect. Well, that’s all for today. Goodnight and more of this tragic event will be up tomorrow.

Mrs. Dubose Dies (Final Part)
Alright, enough talking about the depressing parts of Mrs. Dubose’s death. Let’s talk about all the good memories of her. I remember visiting her at her house and being able to start a conversation with her when walking down the street. She actually wasn’t as bad of a person as people make her out to be. To think that she let my two children, out of all the children in Maycomb, into her life to help her fight the battle against her addiction while also trying to teach them about courage, shows that she did have a heart deep down on the inside. While everyone else only cared about how she acted on the outside, no one ever tried to stop and actually try to get to know her better to see how she actually was on the inside. She might have been known as someone other than nasty and racist Mrs. Dubose if someone other than myself had tried doing this. She struggled long and hard for what she wanted and I hope she got it. She was the bravest person I have ever known. See you all in the next post.

Mrs. Dubose Dies (Part 2)
Welcome back to the 2nd part of the death of Mrs. Dubose. As I was saying in my last post, Mrs. Dubose deserved better than how she was treated in her lifetime. So what if she was nasty or racist? Doesn’t mean people should just automatically judge her based off of that. Maybe if people had just themselves in her shoes for once, maybe they would’ve understood where she was coming from. Especially Jem and Scout. I have tried so hard to teach them to look at things from other people’s perspectives, but they seem to only follow this just a little bit now. If they had viewed things her way, maybe they wouldn’t have found her as such a bad person and would actually have some empathy towards her. I know I certainly placed myself in her shoes and I understood all she was going through. Being a morphine addict for so long must have not been an easy thing to face. I just wish Jem and Scout could have tried to help her a little bit more as well as myself. Maybe the town would have viewed her differently. Well, time to get back to focusing on this Tom Robinson case. See you all in my next post.

One-Shot Finch Returns (Final Part)
Since this is the final part of One-Shot Finch Returns, I just want to say that although I am quite furious about my kids finding out about my the old Atticus, I am actually kind of glad they found out. Maybe this can show them that they should always value their morals and only break them when they really have to. Although God has given me an unfair advantage over others whenever I hold a gun, I know I shouldn’t hurt other animals or humans only when it comes to their safety. I hope they won’t ever go against their morals unless they really have to. To be honest, when Mr.Tate told me to shoot the dog, I was actually feeling pretty nervous. I mean, I did spend 30 years without shooting a gun and having so much pressure put on me was pretty nerve-racking. With that being said, I hope my children do not view me differently after this.

One-Shot Finch Returns (Part 2)
Welcome back to One-Shot Finch Returns. As I was saying in the other blog, I’m not really a gun person so I didn’t kill the dog on purpose. It’s just that if I hadn’t he probably would’ve hurt my family and neighbors if he did carry any disease. My morals are way beyond killing humans and animals. Killing the dog made me realize that sometimes I have to go against my morals for the sake of my family and neighbors. Although Jem and Scout might be seeing all of this as a big deal, especially finding out what I did in the past, I don’t want to bring this up to them ever again unless I really have to. Everyone is making a big deal, calling me One-Shot Finch and all. Hopefully, everyone puts all of this aside and forgets this day ever happened, especially the kids. There’s Calpurnia calling us for supper. Until next time on One-Shot Finch returns.

One-Shot Finch Returns (Part 1)
Let me just start off by saying I didn’t mean to show my kids who I used to be. I was just trying to protect them and the town. Who knew that one little rabid dog would cause this whole situation. Now my kids know about my past and I was trying to prevent them from learning about anything that has to do with guns. Yes, I bought them guns but that doesn’t mean I want them just shooting anything in plain sight. I even told them they could shoot at tin cans or bluejays, but it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird. My kids have always known me for not really being involved with much action, but after this event, I don’t think they will ever look at me the same way ever again. If there’s anyone to blame for this, it’s my own fault. Poor Tim Johnson was sick and looking for a place to die. I should’ve just dropped the gun and let’em. Thirty years without shooting a gun and one small event causes the return of One-Shot Finch. Well, looks like that’s all for today since it’s Scout’s reading time.
