he’s an only son and at the age of three, one of his first memories was of watching his mother commit infidelity with another man. he didn’t decipher it until his teenage year, when he understood what sex was, but by that time the family has been too fractured for him to do anything about it since his father knew about it.

his father is also a mutant that is against revealing himself to the world, so he shied away from the idea of forming xavier’s in seoul even when he had the means to do so, to join forces with the rest of the mutants. mino, on the other hand, found his gift when he was around twelve, and has been harnessing his power in silence since. he didn’t know about his father’s gift until recently ��� he never tells his father about his either in fear of being shunned.

and along that vein, his father is a workaholic, letting him be whatever he wanted to be. he joined the wrong crowd at sixteen, and began his venture with underground fighting since then. he’s more lithe than he is brute, and it carries until now. he was good enough at controlling his power so as not to accidentally use it against his opponents. at the end of his school year, his mother committed suicide after long-strained relationships in the family, and that threw him off the loop for a while.

when he finally got his shit together after he graduated high school, he decided to pursue a career in digital arts, which he did out of leisure, since he didn’t know what else he was interested in. he took a gap year in-between to travel with his father’s hard-earned money ( well, his father is $$$ ), before returning to seoul.

there was a period of relapse where he eventually succumbed to underground fighting again. he was approached by xavier’s very early in june 2018, and didn’t really know what to do with it. he let the offer stay there for a while until he accepted it in december.
