CROSSOVER TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SOUND SPECTRUM

For car audio lovers, one gadget that can definitely level up your car sound is a crossover. It's a device that takes a sound signal and create 3 separate signals of high, mid and low range frequencies. These are fed through the corresponding subwoofer, speaker and tweeter of your vehicle.

Imagine a crossover as like a musical conduction who directs the orchestra on how music is played and how the notes on their instruments will sound. Without him, chaos will result and unpleasant noise is produced.

Rockford Fosgate is one ofht elleading innovators in car sound technology. The PP8-X is a crossover designed for use with 8 Ohms Punch Pro Midrange Drivers and Tweeters. One cool feature is a dual woofer output so you can use 2 midrange drivers and has a dedicated low pass filter for more clarity and crispness.

Another reputable brand is Audio Cotrol. They have the 2XS and 6XS for 2 channel adn 6 channel respectively. One unique feature of the Audio Control crossovers is the programmable and steep slope filtering trim frequency to minimize sound distortion and power waste which will result in a clear and solid sound. In addition, another advantage of Audio Control corossovers is that it is not brand dependent. You can practically pair any brand of subwoofers, speakers and tweeters to the 2XS and 6XS.

1312 HOU - 1970 Chevrolet Suburban

Now for sale at the Gateway Classic Cars of Houston showroom is this totally custom and one of a kind 3-door 1970 Chevrolet Suburban! The paint job on this beast is absolutely awesome! As you walk around the truck in the sunlight you will notice the color change from green to blue to purple. It has a color shift style paint. Complementing the art that is the paintjob is the brilliant woody style side panels. The interior is just as wild as the exterior. The back section of the truck has been converted to limousine style seating, featuring a TV system and bench seating. You could use this to cart the family round in style or even use it for a fun limo rental or corporate promotional vehicle. Power is had from a punchy 350 CID V8 which sounds fantastic through the custom exhaust system. A 3-speed automatic transmission transfers all that power to the wheels. You will find many convenience features that make driving this truck more enjoyable. An AM/FM radio with a CD player gives sound to an amazing speaker system that fills the cabin with powerful bass and crisp treble. Look up and you will see that this truck has been made into a convertible! A manual soft top can be opened to enjoy the open air while you drive. Power steering makes easy work of turning this monster. To top it all off, the interior is lined with leather, adding that little bit of extra comfort to passengers. The Suburban is the longest continuously used nameplate for any production vehicle. It started in 1935 when it was used for the first all bodied production station wagons. This is a member of the 6th generation of the Suburban. 1982 Chevrolet C10, Gateway Classic Cars Scottsdale #300

Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is delighted to present this 1982 Chevrolet C-10 for sale right now in our Arizona showroom. This is a documented Arizona truck that the owner purchased back in 2004 and had totally redone to its current condition today, which is arguably better than when it was originally sold! The truck was sand-blasted and professionally repainted in its dark silver color with black on the hood scoop. It has all new chrome and LED lights have been installed along with new mirrors and windows. The powertrain on this truck has been vastly improved; this Chevy has a 350 CID Crate Motor tied to a 5-speed Tremek manual transmission that has recently been fitted with a new clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing. Inside the regular cab, it is clear that no expense has been spared: new panels were installed, the seats have been re-wrapped, a new radio and speakers were fitted and all windows have been tinted. The center console with cupholders and storage space makes this truck feel a lot newer than it is and the fully functioning AC will keep you cool while you cruise around town in this hot ride. This is the best example of an early 80's C-10 I have ever set my eyes on and it is an absolute joy to drive. The mounted tach on the hood keeps you firmly in 'race mode' whether you're hauling wood for your neighbor or hitting the country roads for a Sunday blast. Options on this classic pickup include: Air Conditioning, Power Steering, Leather Interior, Aluminum/Alloy Wheels and Red-Striped Radial Tires. The bed is lined with a black tonneau cover that looks right at home with this excellent build. The Cadillac XLR is a Luxury roadster that was marketed by Cadillac and was named the North American Car of the Year in 2004. Intended to be their flagship sports car, the XLR was based on the Chevrolet Corvette's Y-platform. It features unique styling, interior, suspension and a power retractable aluminum hardtop. The engine is Cadillac's 4.6 Liter Northstar tuned to 320 horsepower, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. It was the first production Cadillac with radar adaptive cruise control. The XLR features as standard equipment heated and cooled leather seats, wood interior trim, remote keyless access, side airbags as well as a navigation, audio, and DVD system sharing a 7-inch dashboard screen. The retractable hardtop itself is constructed of aluminum, requires 6'-10½" of vertical clearance during retraction, and is manufactured by a supplier joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and Porsche. Car Electronics Installations And More On My Own Car

How’s it goin’ my friends, it’s Gatlin here once again from Carphonix Car Audio.

And I wanna tell you a little something about me.

Something you might not know.

Now, I don’t tell a lot of people this, but the truth is…

I like cars.

I know, I know. Didn’t see that one coming, did ya?

Hah!

Anyway, one of the coolest things about running a car electronics installations shop is all the different cars I get to see every day. From the most practical to the most exotic, from high performance machines to classic beauties, from 18-wheelers to golf carts I’ve seen it all.

And you know what? Each job is fun in its own way.

But none of them are as fulfilling as the work I do on my own cars.

That’s right, your pal Gatlin works all day on your car, then he spends the evening working on his own cars!

Maybe I need a new hobby. Oh well.

In this one, I’ll show you my lovely, my pride and joy, my 1986 300ZX Turbo.

I’ve had this car a long time, and I’ve put a lot of work into it.

A Full Car Audio Systems Install On A Porsche

Hello hello hello my internet homies, guys and gals, it’s your old buddy Gatlin here from Carphonix!

And boy oh boy do we gots something for ya today.

What is it?

A bright, beautiful, yellow 2008 Porsche Cayman S.

Yep, that’s right! Big Daddy Gatlin is crimpin’ in a Porsche!

This one was a fun project to work on. We got to do a full car audio installation on this bad boy.

Here’s a list of just a few of the parts we used: • A JL Audio RD 900/5 amp • A custom built amp rack • A pair of C5 tweeters in the dash • A pair of C5 door speakers • A pair of C5 rear speakers • A pair of 8” Pinoeer woofers in the doors

You’ll see all that, and more, in this video series.

Yep, you heard me right – this is a video series!

This was such a big project that it took us three videos to complete.
