Pelipper Mail!
It's a well crocheted replica of a Garchompite! Attached is a tag with the Mega Evolution symbol on one side and "A.S" on the other. Also attached is a small note.
"I can't crochet for the life of me, this is my younger brother's work, but hope you like it!"
Oh wow! It’s beautiful, thank you so much! Sometimes my Garchomp gets sad or bored when it hasn’t Mega Evolved in a while- I’ve been working on a theory that Pokémon capable of Mega Evolution become attached to their Mega Stone as though it is a part of their trainer.
I’m sure having a little replica hanging around would make Chompy so happy! I think I shall keep it on my desk.

HELLO
A THIRD ME/US!!!!!
Tumblr media
Napoleon (right) has had very sparse interaction with my close friend’s garchomp, since she was in Kalos, we arranged for them to meet! Napoleon got very excited.
(To note. Please do not introduce garchomps haphazardly as they can be very territorial. We let them get used to eachother’s scents first and I trust in my friends garchomp as she trains her pokemon very well! Her garchomp is simply a grumpy old lady.)

is there anyone special in your life?
I don't like to talk too deeply about my personal life. I'd rather maintain a purely professional persona, however I will confirm that I am not in a relationship.

how are your lab assistants?
They're doing great! Every day I am astounded at how much the two of them can progress. They teach me so much that I would never have been able to find on my own, and I'm very grateful that I get to work with two young, brilliant minds. I do wish they were slightly more formal with some of the Pokédex entries we collaborated on, but I suppose some people just really don't like Magikarp, haha!

how do you feel about Lysandre?
Lysandre is dead. There's no point dwelling on him. I get asked about him a lot- every single interview that I go to, every meeting with those who are much richer and much more famous than I will ever be, every time a trainer comes to me for their first Pokémon. The world turns. Things change. I don't like to think about the past.

what’s your favorite pokepuff
Quite controversially, I love the Mint Poképuffs. My current partner Pokémon seems to like them too, so they're typically the only kind I buy!

hello, why did you decide to study Mega Evolution? Did you have any pokemon growing up?
(@wannabepokemonidol)
What a great question! I started out studying Evolution, and it remains my main area of interest to this day. Being situated in Kalos, the birthplace of Mega Evolution, gave me such an advantage, and allowed me to look further into the potential of Evolution, and how situational it can be. After becoming Professor, I was given more encouragement (and funding) to work on Mega Evolution, and became ever more interested in the history of Xerneas and Yveltal and their ties to the phenomenon! As for your other question, growing up, I had a Fletchling. I loved him so much!

Do you have any fun facts about Ninetales?
Ninetales have a much higher rate of speech recognition than other Pokémon! They are much more likely to understand complex sentences, which we believe is due to how long they live for! It's just like us humans learning a new language over time! If a Trainer catches a Ninetales, there isn't one concrete method for working out how old they are, but you can usually estimate based on the length of their tails, and how much speech they can comprehend!

Hello everyone! It's a quiet day at the lab, and so I thought I would answer any questions that you lovely people have about the creatures we all hold so close to our hearts: Pokémon! Whether it's concerns, fun facts, or just wanting to know a little something more about what's out there, I'd be glad to answer!
Feel free to send me an 'ask!' I look forward to your questions.

What a lovely Tyrantrum! A very big boy, too, by the looks of things! He must be well looked after. Do you mind if I enquire how old you were when Muffin joined you on your journey? I’ve been looking into how younger Pokémon interact with younger people and trainer- I find they typically regard them on a more equal level!
Thank you very much for the photograph, too! I love seeing people’s Pokémon.
Opinions on Tyrantrum?
Lovely little things! They tend to be slightly more rowdy in their youth than Gible- I know I seem spritely but it’s a little more than I can handle! They truly are wonderful companions, though.
They’re quite slow to trust their trainer, but when that barrier is overcome, they can develop such a strong, beautiful bond! I would love to see more Dragon specialists consider them, however I wouldn’t recommend them to those inexperienced with Dragons. Even quite experienced Rock specialists would struggle with them, I believe!

The multiverse gets ever more curious- it seems there’s more than one Professor Sycamore out there! Hello, other me!
It’s quite remarkable they got along so well instantly! For those less knowledgeable wanting to introduce the Garchomp line to potential friends, they are much more open and docile as Gible! They do tend to ‘explore’ with their mouths though- please ensure they don’t try a curious bite!!
Giving this evolutionary line a previous held item of any Pokémon you wish to introduce them to does wonders for familiarising them to a friend’s scent and nature!
As good as it is for Pokémon to socialise, always maximise safety!

A stealthy shiny that shows its true colors when it Mega Evolves… I see! It makes perfect sense when you put it that way; thank you for your insight!💖
I have another question, if you have the time or patience. An unrelated one, just something I've wondered about. Do you have any theories on the existence of Mewtwonite X and Y? Mega Stones that resonate with a Pokemon of such modern origins seem to support your theory that the power to create these stones was somehow unlocked within Xerneas and Yveltal; it suggests that this is something they can still do, rather than a one-off phenomenon when the weapon was fired 3,000 years ago. That said, I don't pretend to understand the whims of any Legendary Pokemon, let alone those of Kalos, but a man-made Kantonian Pokemon with a grudge against humanity seems an... interesting choice for gaining powers through the strong bond with a trainer.
On the contrary, I think it’s a perfect example of the bond between trainers and Pokémon. The aim of Mewtwo’s creation was to use the genetics of the mythical Pokémon Mew to create the ultimate battler- one which show no mercy, and know no defeat. I can’t claim to be an expert on Mewtwo, but to me, that sounds like it withholds both values of life and death, no? It makes sense that it caught the attention of both Xerneas and Yveltal.
With Mega Evolution, a strong bond is required between trainer and Pokémon. Managing to break through Mewtwo’s disdain for humanity and show it that there is more power in teamwork and bonds than anyone could express innately would be such a great feat- I can’t imagine any better circumstances for conducting Mega Evolution.
Thank you again for the question- I’m open to as many as people would like to send me!
