Saying this in the context of ACTING!
Becca is also an effective top and is commanding in her own way but the reason why Freen is a very effective top is because Becca is an effective bottom (again in the context of acting)
Freen doesn't hold back with her hands which makes her look more commanding. Her hands would wander places, grip on parts and would even sometimes lead Bec's hand to tell her that it's fine for her to touch certain parts of her.
With that said, she's also an effective top because Bec let's loose a lot when she's commanding. There's not an ounce of hesitation in Becca to express the journey of making love in the littlest gestures and body reactions, to the biggest expressions and even the faintest whimpers. She's so good at expressing that euphoria when experiencing it and reaching it that amplifies how we view Freen leading.
But tbh, kissing scenes wise is where I love Bec the most coz obviously both of them doesn't hold back anymore in that regards but as forward as Freen gets in those scenes, Bec can get playful, play around and do stuff which makes thise scenes more exciting (esp if the context of the kiss is more light)
*still haven't had time to make that think piece about their story telling in the love scenes tho :')

Oh, my think piece about why Freen and Becky's love scenes are so effective just got more supported by their kiss scenes today.
I don't know how but they just get it. They really just do.
It's 2 AM right now tho and I really wanna dissect everything properly so I don't think I can do it tonight.

Planning to make a think piece about it when I have time but I feel the need to say it now
I think the reason why FreenBecky's love scenes are so good is because they have good understanding of what the character's motivations are when doing it, whether it be lust or love.
This has been in the drafts for two weeks now when I saw people on twitter wonder why their love scenes just hit different than most wlw love scenes.

The most beautiful image in The Loyal Pin...
According to me and me alone!
If you want to dive into my overthinking brain and see me nerd about photography and why I think this particular shot is the best so far...

Then jump after the cut because it's gonna be a kinda long post!
Before episode seven falls upon us, I want to talk about one scene that makes me lose my mind and that previously commented on Twitter (because I refuse to call it X).
I’m sure there are more prepared people out there to talk about this, but my very amateurish ass can’t stop the word vomit I’m about to post.
I love photography and cinematography.
I love The Loyal Pin and, of course, FreenBecky.
I didn’t come here to tell you how beautiful TLP is, we all agree of its beauty. But, there’s a scene from Episode 6 that I can’t take out of my head for many reasons. If they did this fully knowing what they wanted from this, then they have all my respect! But even if it was a more instinctive choice, I still want to praise them for the shot!
I’ll begin by saying that movies and series can tire our eyes. We have less than seconds to react to the images thrown at us. Some directors make an effort to film in a way that we don’t get tired, that we don’t have to work much to focus on what they want us to see. I won’t go too deep into this topic because it is not the reason why I'm posting this rant.
I’ll try give a short explanation:
Here, we have a medium close-up shot, obviously the point is their faces and their feelings.

Then we jump to the next cut.

And here the magic happens!
Once the image changes, our eyes don’t move! We might not notice because it’s a cut instead of a fade, but this is what it looks like when we merge both images together!
With that our of the way, let’s get to the main point!
First, this is a beautiful Wide Shot! It contains so much more information than we can think. And I want everyone to admire it!
This one feels powerful and it moved us because they’re placed in one of the four intersecting lines when divided in thirds.
Second, we have frames!
And lastly, the image is also divided by 2 very contrasting color temperatures. Warm and cold!
This division is what I want to talk about.
We know why we are in this scene. Lady Pin is heartbroken because they don’t have much time left and they just finally confessed their feelings. So, she feels sad and in pain. She’s feeling blue… and blue is a cold color!
We have visuals of her feelings, not only for what we are seeing in the scene but also on how the cold of the room is trying to eat the warmth of the chandelier!
In contrast, we have Anil trying to give as much comfort as she can. She is hopeful of the future because she knows their love is real and because she will return so much faster than last time. Anil’s warmth is trying to conquer Pin’s cold.
But she is feeling sad too, although she tries to be positive about it, she doesn’t want to leave. I believe this also represents her own feelings of guilt for hurting Pin. Of course, we know it wasn’t her fault but the guilt is there too, she also feels powerless and I dare say even defeated.
That’s why the image isn’t divided in the middle, and both are on the colder side of the room.
You guys have no idea of what happened in my head when this image popped up!!
Maybe there will be other scenes that will make me go wild… But so far, this imagine right here is a masterpiece.
Or maybe I’m reading too much into it!

Synopsis for the EP. 8 is out and we already knew that Anil was drunk based on the scene on the sofa where she was slurring her words and looked gone af but it also would explain why:
A) they would be kissing in "public" when there's a sht ton of people in the palace and the risk was high
B) the outside kiss seemed more intense than all their previous kisses (and Anil was holding on to Pin for dear life)
C) the sofa scene was what freenbecknam were deeming as the wildest scene because it was motivated by a sht ton of things (love, longing, a lot of jealousy, and alcohol in the system)
EPISODE 8 abour to be CRAZY with the drama and everything else. I'M NOT READY.

The hurt in both their eyes in this scene...
Pin, looks like she's been crying all night and you can see how depressing her eyes were not wanting Anil to go.
and Anil, was trying to be strong and smile to comfort Pin though you can still see the guilt in her for having to leave.
Tonight will be the last night that I can stay close to you. I don’t want to close my eyes. I want to keep looking at you like this. How I wish you’d never have to leave.

My favorite little detail from last night's episode:

When Pin said these lines, I was wondering how they're gonna execute it. I love how in this specific love scene, they didn't go into detail but instead left more for everyone's imagination.

With that said, I was wondering if they were in any way gonna give call backs the next morning and I love how instead of showing little marks,

they decided to only allude to it by making Anil wear a half turtleneck, and intentionally covering parts of her neck with her hair.

So we don't really get to see the marks Pin may have left but we know she did try to leave some. Also makes us focus on the more important fact that Anil is leaving.
little things. subtle details.
(and yes i may have noticed it immediately on first watch don't ask me why)

The love scenes were so well made this episode but this specific scene still stuck out to me the most because the way they used the lack of dialogue to let us process the inevitable doom along with the characters was so smart and brutal, especially since they also bombarded the start with so much sweetness to make us forget that information too.
A literal whole minute of them just weeping until Pin finally spoke and it's just her pleading for Anil not to go...
I AM NOT READY FOR THE ANGST.

so many things i love about this scene but let's start with:
the writing and delivery in this scene was just 🤌🏽
special kudos to becca coz the way she delivered the desperation that anin was feeling was just masterful.
i know a lot of people were being hyper critical about anin's ways and i understand that but i actually appreciate her patience and carefulness towards pin. it was clear to her what she felt but she didn't impose or force the idea towards pin. she's letting pin figure things out herself (with the help of her antics ofc).
it's also why this scene hurt so bad (like it literally hurt my chest it was crazy). anin knew her enemy wasn't her or pin's feelings - it was time. she had to go back to england eventually so she was trying her hardest to help pin figure out what she truly feels. she wanted everything to be sorted out and be able to fully love pin before she needed to leave. it's also why it hurt her the most when pin decided to ignore her for days. she felt helpless because she was losing that time she was trying so hard not to lose. the way she also delivered that scene where she had to spell out why she and how she realized she loved pin was so good. the desperation in every line as she she explained what love was to her, hoping that it would be enough to help pin but it wasn't. the bitter smile as she realized it wasn't as easy as she thought it was gonna be. that she already did what she could and it may not he enough. the dawning on her that there's a chance the feeling wasn't mutual and that it may just be a lost cause. choosing until the end not to impose the idea that pin loved her but accepting that pin was still uncertain.
both their delivery in that scene was just so good. so was the writing. the writing had just been really good tbh that it got me to come back to fbtwt and fbtumblr.

GAP SPOILERS IF YOU DON'T KNOW YET BUT I DOUBT YOU DON'T
After learning about grandma being at the wedding, I was wondering how they're gonna redeem her character but after watching ep 12 again today, I kinda got a sense of some things.
First, you know how we say Sam believes something tragic happens when leaving grandma because of what happened to her sisters? I think we forgot grandma thinks that too. All her life she believed that everything she did was for them, and seeing them leave her and something wrong happening after, she probably deludes herself into believing too that she's making the right decisions. Also probably why she's so desperate to keep Sam with her.
Surprisingly, I actually think the change of heart was done well. Most times in shows, the change of hearts feels so rushed and uncharacteristic. I'd say grandma's realization was good.
Like I said earlier, she believes she was right until she saw Sam crumble right in front of her. She didn't really see it in person how much Song broke, and Neung never broke in front of her either. She also never really saw them truly happy either. Sam staying with her while quite literally slowly k!lling herself was like a slap to the grandma's face. How maybe her decision is actually what's killing the family. How she may be wrong for once. Sam being in a constant state of depression plus Neung's parting words to her slowly scared her. Sam was there physically but it was obvious she detached from the world.
She was most scared of failure, and seeing Sam be miserable for a long time like that in front of her eyes was an obvious sign of failure for her as a guardian.
Then the change of heart came and I actually kinda love how it was less of an "I understand you now, you do whatever you want", it's more of an "I don't really understand it but I know I can't do sht to help so maybe doing what you want can make things better for you".
Up until the end she didn't understand, but she was starting to ask questions and that's a big improvement for her. Never did she really care about everything else other than her own beliefs.
NOW GRANDMA STILL A PIECE OF SHT, but I'd say she was definitely one of those "narcissistic, old, uptight characters who at the end of the day, is just plain ignorant"
#unnecessary grandma thinkpiece but i just gotta share it#gap the series#I CAN'T BELIEVE GAP HAS ENDED#happy for monsam tho#they deserve peace!
