Bitter Candy
The feeling of unrequited love, like that of eating bittersweet treats
A conversation of passion, yet the words of love fall upon deaf ears, like art to blind eyes
The sweetness in the words that remains becomes sour and the words hurt like daggers, their original meaning lost in the sands of time
Lost, just as the love behind the words once delivered to a brick wall

The joy of being unknowing
It is often said ignorance is bliss
So why?
Why do you still seek knowledge as though it were vital to your very state of being?

Hermit Crab
They’re odd creatures, hermit crabs
They hide, seeking refuge from the outside world within their shells
It begs the question, what truly separates you from this creature, detached from the world that awaits it?
What is so different from you and this strange crustacean that hides who it truly is from the world until the facade it’s created fades as the cracks in its shell become all the more visible?
It’s something to ponder, what truly lies under the false narrative you and those you hold dear present as yourselves?
