Having a second story published with Phantaxis Magazine was definitely a thrill. Getting that acceptance notice by email is always a great feeling. With 'The Last Stand', I decided to take the reader into the depths of a tense and potentially dangerous intergalactic dispute. An evil empire forcing its superiority over lesser and younger species pits a Captain and his lone surviving battlecruiser as the last vestige of hope for his people. It features a heated space battle along with an array of diplomatic insults that would leave the sanest of ambassadors reeling. But is there something going on here, something more than just what we read on the surface? I want to thank the staff at Phantaxis for the great-looking issue and am enjoying the other stories published within this issue. A superb collection with wonderful authors. Congrats to all! I have to say that I have had tremendous luck with Devolution Z Magazine. These people are really top notch. My latest published piece “The Light in the Woods” appears in their Issue 17 with a wonderfully rendered alien on the cover! There have been strange things seen in the skies around the world for as long as people can remember. For one family away on vacation, it's the best time they could imagine: enjoying the seclusion of their cabin on a private lake in the middle of the woods, as far away from civilization as they could get. At least it was wonderful until they started to see the strange lights... Playing on the classic fears of the unknown, I've tried to take the reader on a journey where they just might discover what is truly out there. April 2017 Issue: http://www.amazon.com/dp/1545430101

I was extremely pleased to have my short story, 'Homo Aquaticus', accepted into Devolution Z magazine. I can't say enough good things about this publication. Everyone I have spoken with is professional, polite and-above all else-supportive. If you have a spooky story, make sure it deals with something supernatural as they don't accept slashers and such tales. Consider submitting your work to this publication. They take care of all small editing issues for you, but make sure it's been edited and polished to the best of your ability out of courtesy. They've also updated their internal copy edit and it looks great! 'Homo Aquaticus' takes place in a world where the surface has been ravaged by war. No life remains in this desolate wasteland. Humanity, what survives of it, dwells in underwater colonies spread along the continental shelves. But, as our species has always been inclined to do, there are those who wish to improve us through genetic manipulation and splicing. A mystery, a thriller and definitely a horrifying... Well, maybe you'll just have to read it. :D January 2017 Issue: http://www.amazon.com/dp/154230959X

My short story "Project A.E.O." has been published in Issue #1 of Phantaxis Science Fiction & Fantasy Magazine. I first found out about this market through Devolution Z Horror Magazine. After having several great experiences with Devolution Z and learning that Phantaxis is their sister publication, I immediately submitted my latest work. Sure enough, these people are the best. I've submitted to dozens of markets and many of them can be difficult to work with. But I have to give credit where credit is due. Moonriser Publishing, the owners of Devolution Z and Phantaxis, really know their stuff. They respond quickly to author inquiries, are very supportive and even supply personal editors in some cases. If you are thinking of submitting science fiction, fantasy or supernatural horror, these two magazines are amongst the best! As for my short story "Project A.E.O."... Imagine a time where a new species has just awoken for the first time from a type of cryo-sleep. They have been trained, each with a specific function in their new society, supplied with all the tools they will need and a city of the highest order. Their custodian and teacher, Computer, is there to answer all their questions. They've been taught that their progenitors died off from a terrible plague. But before they passed away, they were determined to make sure that life persists and so they created the AEOs. Life was good. Life was fulfilling. At least until many AEOs began getting ill. A dark secret would be revealed, one that would change the AEOs' existence forever.

The October 2016 issue of Devolution Z Magazine (Halloween Issue) contains my very own halloween short story, 'Peace and Quiet'.
I know, I know, it doesn't sound very halloween... but the title is what the primary character is always in search of, and when he finally gets it, let's just say that things don't turn out the way he expected. After returning from an extended business trip, the protagonist finds himself happy to be home. The home he loves, the home he cherishes, the home that makes him feel safe. But something is different. It's too quiet... where has everyone gone?

I was very excited to be included in the 13th issue of this great literary magazine. Devolution Z prints a high calibre of supernatural horror fiction that makes for incredible reading! Reminds me of the old Tales from the Crypt episodes! Loads of fun! The August 2016 installment includes my short story 'Occupational Denizen'. Donald's just another average employee for a financial firm. He goes to work, does his job and tries, as best he can, to engage his co-workers in social settings. Unfortunately, he fails miserably every time. He's accepted that, but was always hopeful that he would be accepted one day, as a social equal. Until something changed. His personal office was vandalized late at night and his stash of personal snacks was pilfered. There were few things in life that Donald took joy in: his sweets were one of them. After a repeat attack on his personal belongings, he felt that this was the last straw. He was going to catch the culprit, no matter the cost. But the funny thing with using hidden cameras is that you tend to find things that want to remain... hidden. August 2016 Issue: www.amazon.com/dp/1536821217 Check out www.DevolutionZ.com

Proud to have my short story collaboration “Disorder in the Court” published in the April 2016 issue of Devolution Z Horror Magazine.
Written with Cordelia Vandenburg, a prosecutor and editor of many years, we were able to weave a unique tale of the zombie apocalypse.
The setting: Old City Hall Courthouse in the downtown core of the City of Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Enter Lance Davenport, obtuse, arrogant and rude beyond measure. Having this person attend court for a trial has all the elements of a debacle of biblical proportions. But when we add the undead to the mix, what ensues is a tumult of horror, hilarity and gritty realism that will have you loving and hating the man both at the same time.
The cover art for the issue was based on our story and we were very honoured that it was chosen as the feature.
It’s available in print and eBook editions through all of the Amazon websites worldwide.
We would like to thank Devolution Z Magazine for choosing our story and for the superb staff they have working at their publication.

Two of my short stories: “Suburbia Wild II: The Second Coming” and “Northern Seclusions” were just published in the Bigfoot Special Edition of Devolution Z Horror Magazine.
It’s available on Amazon in print and eBook versions.

“Suburbia Wild II: The Second Coming” is a follow-up Bigfoot horror short story to Suburbia Wild. The gated community has been completed, new homes built, families moved in and children playing on the streets. But, forces lurk just outside of the quiet community with dreadful intentions. Suburbia Wild was published in the November 2015 Issue of Devolution Z Magazine.
“Northern Seclusions” is another Bigfoot horror short story about three life-long friends that finally get a chance to take a vacation from their hectic lives. They decide to rent a cabin located by a remote lake. It doesn’t take long for them to find out that they are not as alone as they first believed.
