David Gretch, an MD Ph.D. graduate of the University of Iowa School of Medicine, devoted the first thirty years of his career to medical research on pathogenic human viral infections. In addition to Nature and poetry, the author's other interests include hiking and camping with his family and dog, philosophy and healthy living. He is a native of Montana and long-term resident of the Pacific Northwest, Issaquah Washington.

Simple Ways to Reconnect With Nature
"Most of us live in the city, are engaged in work almost five or six days a week, and there is no time to rest or enjoy ourselves. In the event that we do have some free time, we rush to the bars and restaurants, chat with friends and family and then the whole weekend is gone, and we are back to our same routine. We are surrounded by buildings, literally in a concrete jungle with only a few pockets of trees covered with silt and dust. We need to change this, step out in nature, enjoy the fresh air, count the stars and do the things we take for granted. Here are simple ways to reconnect with nature, leaving you satisfied, refreshed and rejuvenated, ready for another hard and long week."
