summary: y/n and Erwin found some free time and decide to watch the sunset and go stargazing, spending a little time together.

Sorry if it’s a little short and not the best this is my first one shot

It was a surprise to say the least when y/n’s lover called them to into his office to ask if they wanted to watch the sunset with him this evening. It was even more of a surprise that you could both find time off with him being the commander and y/n being a squad leader. And yet somehow they both find themselves standing in an open field next to the love of their life eyes focused on the sunset in front of them. The sky’s beautiful oranges mixing with brilliant shades of red and hints of pink so rich and soft that you could almost smell the sweet fragrance of roses and the soft scent of camellia flowers.

looking over y/n can see Erwin with a soft smile looking as if he’s lost in thought, y/n gently takes his hand with theirs as he looks down to his lover reaching over to cup their face with his hand. The spectacular reds and oranges paint their face with a soft glow y/n’s loving lavish eyes make contact with his. Both reflecting the golden rays of the late evening, y/n smiles giving Erwin a sweet simple kiss and breaking the contact and going back to look at the sunset. 

“Erwin look your going to miss it” Giving a slight hum and looking back to the sunset Erwin sees the sun begin to set below the horizon and past the mountains away from the human eye. The moon makes its way up as the stars creep into the now slowly growing dark sky. Erwin feels his lover squeeze his hand and upon looking over he can see his lover pointing to the sky. “Erwin look, I see a star” as y/n passionately looks back to Erwin in excitement. 

Erwin lets out a small chuckle as a smile graces his features thinking to himself about how he got so lucky to be with them, before replying “I believe that star is called Sirius, it’s said to be the brightest star in the sky” letting out a small chuckle y/n respond with “how do you know all that”.  Gaining a response from the man in question in return. “I read a book about the stars when I was younger and I guess it’s stuck with me ever since”.

As the night went on the sky got darker going from shades of red to shades of blue and and greens begin to overlap as the brilliant reds turn into dark rich shades of purple and the velvety darkness creeps into the sky. The soft warm air turns bitter and cold but just enough that it’s okay to stay outside, the stars become bright and dance with each other in the sky. As the night goes on Erwin would point out different constellations in the sky and telling many story’s about them and once or twice y/n and Erwin would dance swaying back and forth hand in hand the only music is each other’s laughter and smiles and Erwin could swear that Y/n’s smile was bright enough to light up the sky all on it’s own. 

As the hours pass by y/n begins to lean their head on Erwin’s shoulder as they both begin to feel themselves to grow tired as the night went on they could only assume it was an ungodly hour of the night. Erwin catching on to his partners tiredness he begins to pick them up bridal style and places a gentle kiss on their lips. The pair begins to make their way back inside to the warmth of their room y/n being carried by their lover. 

“Lets go to sleep love, we don’t know what tomorrow will hold for us”.
